Chapter Nineteen: Missing

"Han!" Leia called urgently. "Do you know where Luci is?" He frowned as he processed her question.

"I thought she was going to see Artoo?" he said, still frowning, remembering their argument. He hated having Luci angry at him, especially when it was over the smallest of things.

"No she wasn't there when I just went to look for her," she shook her head at him.

"She's twenty two, I'm sure she's fine," he tried to reason with her, again remembering how Luci had shouted at him for treating her like a child. Leia just shook her head again.

"I can't sense her here," she explained before pulling something out of her pocket. It was Luci's lightsaber. "And I found this, ignited, like she'd just dropped it. Han, she never leaves this lying around,"

Han knew she was telling the truth, as ever since Luci had forged that lightsaber when she was thirteen, it had hung from her belt next to her blaster. It was her prize possession, she wouldn't have just left it lying around, she wouldn't have lost it unless something had happened to her. At the same time realisation hit him, one of the pilots that was talking to Luci earlier ran over to Leia, her cropped blue hair ragged from her running her hands through it repeatedly.

"General! We've just spotted an enemy ship leaving the atmosphere!" Izzy Antilles said hurriedly. Leia shot Han a worried glance before following the pilot to one of the screens, where security footage of the stray TIE fighter leaving the planet was playing on repeat.

"Play it back, can we see the pilot getting into the ship?" Leia asked and one of the resistance workers played around with the controls until the tape was at its start. Han leant over, watching carefully as what looked like a chrome storm trooper walked to the ship, a body in their arms.

"That's Captain Phasma!" Finn exclaimed sounding nervous as he stood behind Han. "Solo, she's the captain of the storm troopers in the First Order, and..."

"And she's got Lucinda," Poe finished the sentence for him as he pushed forward to see the tape. Han noticed his anxiousness to see the footage, and thought about what he'd said to Luci previously about the pilots affection. He couldn't help but smirk slightly, despite the situation, as he was practically proven right.

"That bitch," Leia heard Isabeul Antilles hiss as her sister glared at the screen, before biting her lip, thinking the situation through.

"How'd they take her though? Luci may be the biggest nerf herder I've ever met, but she's good in a fight, I can't imagine some chrome bucket head could knock her out and kidnap her, and why hang back to take her?" Erika thought out loud.

At her words, Leia spoke up, memories of getting captured herself replaying in her mind. "Stormtroopers guns have a stun option. Right, Finn?" The ex-Stormtrooper nodded at her, and she continued speaking. "I should know, I've been on the receiving end of it. This Phasma most likely stunned Luci as soon as she found her. She'd have waited until after the rest of the First Order had left to take her by surprise."

Han was still frowning, glaring at the screen in disgust. He wanted to blast that bucket off her head. The First Order now had both his son and daughter, and he needed them both back.

"That doesn't explain why they took her, they already have Rey," Finn said, looking to Poe, Erika and Izzy.

"Damn Stormy," Izzy rolled her eyes at him, using a nickname meant to insult him. "Is it not simple for you to grasp that she's one of the last in the entire galaxy to be trained in the force? They already have Ben, why wouldn't they want the other half of the pair?"

"They always did work best as a pair," Erika noted. "It'd only make sense Snoke would want both of them. If he could get Luce to the Darkside, then they'd be unstoppable. Once in training, she flipped some other kid into the air and out of the window by accident, she's pretty damn powerful,"

"Alecai's face was great, can you remember the way he thudded to the ground?" Izzy laughed, grinning to her sister. It seemed rare the two joked around, especially with how serious things were at the resistance.

"I saw her from my X-Wing earlier, fighting a bunch of Stormtroopers, she's insanely good, better than she ever made herself out to be," Poe nodded, smirking slightly as he spoke of Luci.

Han knew his girl was skilled in the force, but the way they were talking about her made her seem much better than he ever thought she could be. He'd seen Luke in a fight using the force - the first time not very well as it was on Tatooine over the Sarlacc pit - but he never thought he was capable of creating what they were making out to be one of the most powerful force users of their time. Damn, he couldn't help but notice the irony in the situation; he previously laughed in the face of any force-believer, but now his daughter was one of the most powerful Jedi's, second to his brother-in-law.

"We need her back," Poe muttered, a hint of desperation in his voice. Han glanced over to him, and saw the little boy Luci never stopped talking about. It was rare to make such loyal friends in the galaxy, but yet Luci and Poe had both done well for themselves. Except Han knew that Poe wanted more than a friendship. As her father, he was unsure how he felt. As cute as it was, it was still Han's little girl Poe was in love with, which made Han feel quite protective.

"You're right," Han nodded, pushing away his personal feelings. "I guess our assault on Starkiller Base just became a rescue mission,"

"Who said we were doing an assault?" One of the generals spoke up, firing a glare at Han. Once, Han had been a general, but now he couldn't imagine being like one of them, not even Leia.

Speaking of Leia, she grimaced in almost pain, her head falling into her hands as she felt a flicker of darkness in the force surrounding her.

"I say we're doing an assault. The First Order just destroyed the republic, and an entire system, and took two hostages. We also now have Finn, who's provided us with more than enough inside knowledge, as well as recon shots. What makes you think we wouldn't want to do an assault?" She snapped slightly. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Poe and the Antilles sisters trying to hide a grin. "Gather everyone, I want to look at the recognisance photos together,"

After she'd finished talking, Leia took a step back and began to walk away, except Han caught her arm, looking at her with worry.

"Something's wrong," he stated, looking at her face as it wore an expression of worry and pain. "I can tell, you look terrified. Is it Luci?"

Leia nodded, sighing, resting her hand on his arm.

"I felt her with him," she began. "When we first found out she was missing, I felt that Luci was with Ben, but just then, I felt her with Snoke,"

"Are you sure? W-what's he doing to her? Is she okay?" Han worried. He'd lost Ben, he didn't know what he'd do if he lost Luci too.

"No, he's hurting her, torturing her, trying to make her turn," Leia explained, her voice catching in her throat. Han wanted to hug Leia desperately, but knew she wouldn't have appreciated that. He only realised now he was near her again, and they were talking about their children, now he was close to her, the woman he'd loved with his whole heart, how much he'd missed her.

"Can you-"

"Feel the pain he's putting her through?" Leia guessed his question, but couldn't answer, instead only nodding. "He doesn't want to hurt her for the map, he just wants to... He's doing it to make her turn to the dark side, it's like what I felt the day we lost Ben,"

"He's got both of them now," Han sighed, running his hands through his hair, like Leia remembered he used to do, especially during the war, when they were fighting against the empire. It was practically the same, except now the empire's equivalent had their children.

"No, it's not working, Luci... I can feel her laughing. He's hurting her even more, but it's not affecting her," Leia knew why; Luci had been through hell already, and came out not turned. Snoke couldn't hurt her anymore than she already had been.

Han let out a small sigh of relief, mixed with a slight laugh. "She always was resilient, Luke trained her pretty well,"

"No, resilience was something she got from her father," Han frowned in confusion. Was Leia complimenting him, even after all he'd put her through? She had deserved so much better than him. "But still, no amount of resilience will save her if Snoke orders the First Order to take her to him-"

"Luci's going to Snoke?" Izzy exclaimed, overhearing the conversation as she walked past. Her hands curled into fists, her face grimacing.

"She's with him now, that's why we need to-"

"Luci's with Snoke?" Erika ran over, her eyes wide in shock.

"Is he hurting her? What's he doing to Luci?" Poe asked, trying to sound calm, despite his feelings betraying him. Leia couldn't help but find his dedication to her daughter adorable; even if he didn't know it yet, Leia could tell Poe was head-over-heels for her, just like Han could.

Han and Leia shot one last look to each other, a lingering glance as he turned away, walking off. Their conversation was over, it was clear, now it was time for Leia to be a General. As he went, he hit Finn's arm.

"Hey Big Deal, looks like you might get that rescue mission you wanted after all,"
