Lucy went upstairs, hoping she won't bump into Natsu. She still has the married couple imagination in her head. The thought of a guy she only met having to be her future husband, gives her an uncomfortable feeling. She tried to forget about it and walk faster, noticing the old, yet, classy design of the walls. She picked a room and went inside. The second she opened the door, a burst of cool breeze greeted her face. For Lucy, the wind felt great! She had this calming feeling, a soothing sensation that she never felt before.

Lucy looked around the room and it was amazing! The carpet was a dark velvet red and the walls had this warm orange color. The room and it's design was calming to the eye and made the space felt warm for a room where the wind can enter freely.

She jumped on the huge soft bed. She put a pillow under her chin and laid flat on the bed. She turned to her right, at the mirror. She could only look at herself, staring at her own reflection.

She blushed as she suddenly pictures Natsu having his cheeky and joyful smile. The smile that made her feel all warm inside.

Then she sat at the edge bed and was still at her looking at herself. She stared at her reflection for a long time.

"I can't believe this is me...." She muttered to herself. "What a useless liar I am."

Then she remembered her old look. The fancy clothes, the long gown she was always ordered to wear. She was surprised to remember that memory. Her eyes widened in fear. Her hands trembling. So many horrible memories had she gone through, yet, she never felt herself. She turned against the mirror and saw her phone. There was a notification.

One missed call..

She angrily held the phone. Somehow she knew who it was and felt a furious emotion circulating through her. She angrily threw her phone to the corner of the room where it enough to be unreachable, but can still be retrieved. She crumpled up in her bed, couldn't help but think about the missed call. It was someone from her past. She was scared to comeback to that memory of him, the fear of the unknown, the pain, sufferings and the sorrow. If she would answer those calls, her life will become a living hell like before. She was scared to see those calls, but was terrified to see the day when there were no missed calls at all.

Lucy couldn't understand herself, her heart never made anything clear. She felt happy, but fake. She felt joy, but sadness waited at the end. She cried under her pillow softly, but suddenly stopped when she remembered the tone of Natsu's voice.

"Lucy...." Somehow the tone in his voice, made her feel safe. She stopped crying and quickly wiped off her tears and sat up. The voice felt a little real to her, she smiled a bit and stood up. She turned to the door and Natsu was really there. Calling her name.

"Lucy?" He asked, looking at Lucy's teared up eyes. "You okay?" He takes a few steps forwards.

She turned around and acted completely normal.

"There's always an option of knocking!" Stated Lucy a bit angrily.

Natsu turned back to his cold expression."If you didn't hear. I did knock." He said, leaning on the frame of the door, and having a cold, yet cool look on his face. "Did I interrupt you with something?"

"No, not at all." Then there was a sudden silence in the room, but Lucy quickly cut it off. "What are you doing here?" She asked, calmly.

"It's actually getting late. Ms. Malane already prepared dinner."

Lucy sat down and frowned. "I.....I'll be right there." Stated Lucy.

Natsu looked at Lucy, worried. "Alright then." Then he closed the door.

Lucy lied down on the bed, feeling embarrassed that Natsu saw her cry. She took deep breaths and calmed herself down. She stood up and fixed her hair.

Lucy went down to the dinning room, but there wasn't any food on the table. Luckily, Ms. Malane stopped by there, knowing Lucy will expect that dinner will be served there.

"Ms. Heartfilia, Mr. Dragneel is waiting in the garden."

"Oh, so that's where we'll eat. Thank you Ms. Malane." Said Lucy politely and bowed.

"Oh, that's alright honey. No need to bow!" She smiled.

Lucy smiled and went to the garden. She went out towards the garden, noticing a huge shady tree. There, she saw Natsu, sitting in a white summer chair. She went closer and saw Natsu's cold expression.

"Lucy, finally. sit." Said Natsu as he gestures his hand to the chair in front of him. Lucy sat down and poured wine on her glass.

"So, how do you plan on selling this?" Asked Lucy. She cuts her in a small piece and ate it gracefully. Even Natsu is eating gently, not like before, before he's shoving the food in his mouth, not even swallowing! Now it's completely different.

"I really have no Idea, but I'll find a way sooner or later." Stated Natsu. The breeze was cool as it blows on Natsu and Lucy. Again, there was silence in the air, and again, Lucy stopped the silence. While Natsu was drinking the wine in his glass, Lucy spoke.

"Not to pry, Mr. Dragneel but.............do you have a girlfriend?" She asked calmly. The question almost made Natsu spit out his drink! He didn't expect Lucy to ask such a question, since they hardly know each other. But there was no point to not answering her question. They're now partners after all. They needed to trust each other, but remembering somethings from his past brought back the deep pain he'd been hiding for a long time.

"Well. I had. Her name is Lisanna Strauss."

"Had?" She curiously said.

"Yes." He said then a tear fell from one of his eye. Lucy was surprised and stared at Natsu. She was frozen. She couldn't believe a man as cold as Natsu cried in front of her.

"I-I'm sorry.....please don't continue. I don't want to bring something you don't want to remember...." She said sadly.

"No, it's alright. We broke up a long time ago."

"M-may I ask why?"

"We fight a lot, but we also recovered a day after. I loved her. I never wanted her to go, but one day she just wanted to leave me...."

----Flashback---

(Christine: there will be a bit Nali. Sorry. But Nalu will go through all the way later!)

Natsu was sitting at the edge of his bed, thinking of a good place to go, a gift for Lisanna. Then someone knocked and opened the door.

"Natsu?" Said Lisanna, looking worried. Natsu smiled goofily at Lisanna, happy that she was there. But, Lisanna couldn't look at Natsu in the eye. "We need to talk..."

"Sure, what is it Lisanna?" Natsu still couldn't read the atmosphere and was still smiling childishly.

"Natsu.......Let's break up...." She stated softly. Natsu couldn't believe his ears in hearing that. And he didn't believe it.

"What?" He asked. "W-why?"

"I'm not sure about us now, Natsu......Things aren't the same since before. I've changed.....but you haven't...I've always wanted someone to be there for me, but every time I look for you when I need you. You're always on missions, you're not here when I need you..." She stated the last words softly. Lisanna stood up and faced Natsu.

"I hope you agree with me..." She said coldly. Natsu almost cried. He never expected something like this to happen, he never imagined anything like this. He loved Lisanna a lot, to him she's his whole life, but leaving him was like his own existence was being erased from something he didn't know. Natsu felt weak, felt a striking sorrow sting his heart painfully.

"Why? I can....change! Please don't!"

"Natsu.....I made up my mind. Please." Natsu rushed to her and hugged her tightly. "No! I won't let you go." Lisanna pushed Natsu away.

"I'm sorry, Natsu. I didn't want it to end this way, but please bear with my decision." Natsu clenched his fist. A few seconds after a silent moment with a heavy ambience Natsu finally....

"Fine! If....That's what you want....I will.." He stated, stopping all the tears he had inside.

"Thank you" Said Lisanna and left the room. Natsu locked the door and fell down, at his weakest point. He cried his heart out. He felt destroyed knowing that they'll break up, and he wasn't given a second chance.

After a week. Lisanna had no teammate with her since Natsu didn't return to the guild for a few days. Mira teamed up with Laxus and Elfman teamed up with Evergreen, Lisanna had no one to be accompanied with. So she went alone. The missions was extremely dangerous, but she needed the money. Lisanna went on to the mission. And after a few day Natsu went back to the guild, feeling a bit better.

When he entered the guild hall, expecting everyone to be fighting, laughing and doing their own business. Natsu witnessed with his very eyes are people grieving and crying. The atmosphere was filled with sorrow, tears, and regret. Natsu, not knowing what happened, felt a bit worried. He went up to Mira who was crying so hard.

"Mira? Where's Lisanna?" After Mira heard the name "Lisanna" She cried even more, wailing in pain. Mira ran out of the guild, tears overflowing from her face.

"Natsu.....you haven't heard?" Asked Laki as she wipes her tears.

"No, what happened?"

"Lisanna died......" With that being said, Natsu fell on his knees. The time he got over everything, is the time he left someone important to him alone. He felt like dying. He even grabbed Erza's sword that was on the table and tried to commit suicide. Erza quickly made the sword disappear before Natsu could pierce through his neck.

"NATSU ARE YOU CRAZY?!?!?!" Scolded Erza.

"YOU IDIOT! STOP ACTING LIKE THIS!!" Gray followed.

"I WANNA DIE! KILL ME! KILL ME!............Please!" Shouted Natsu, in the most pitiful was you could ever hear a man grief in all your life. His cry was contagious. Because of how Natsu reacted, He was ordered by Master Makarov to be locked in his house for three days. While Natsu was locked in his house. Happy entered.

"Hey, Natsu. Wanna go on a mi-" Happy was cut off when Natsu threw a fire ball at him, but luckily missed. Happy froze as he stared at the mark on the wood from Natsu's burning flames. Happy knew Natsu will never be the same. Since then Natsu really never been the same. A few weeks had passed and Natsu entered the guild. Everything seemed normal, laughing, minding their own bussiness, all was the same from before......except Natsu. Everyone in the guild noticed his change in attitude. So one day every one had their own way of bringing Natsu back.

Gray tried picking a fight with him, but Natsu turned away. Erza tried to talk personal with Natsu, but he stood from his seat and walked away. Happy tried.......giving Natsu a fish. Natsu smiled a bit, a sad smile, but still walked away. The only person Natsu could talk to was Mira, he doesn't talk to Mira in the same way. But Mira could still talk to Natsu as a person. Since then Natsu had a changed in everything he has. The cold expression and the shut away look swayed everybody he knows away from him.

He never smiled, laughed or cared about anything anymore.....

---Flashback over---

Lucy was speechless.

"I was devastated at that time. Hearing the news gave me a big shock. I became a bit mad, I had a psychological problem for a while, but recovered. After that I changed myself. She left me for being so happy, childish, dense, and stupid!....so I changed myself." He cupped his mouth with his hands. "I'm sorry...." He said, apologizing for acting so weak in front of Lucy. He tried not to cry, but failed.

"I should be the one apologizing. Being weak isn't a bad thing, Natsu." She smiled a heart-warming smile. Natsu recovered a bit.

"Ahem! Anyway." Then he smiled like nothing even happened. "How about you? Lucy? Do you have a boyfriend?"

"No." Natsu stopped and froze, thinking about her answer.

"No? That's impossible." Said Natsu, not believe the girl that had such angelic beauty and have such an amazing personality could not have attracted anyone.

"What do you mean impossible?"

"Well. I mean. I just wondered why someone like you couldn't have had any relationship. I mean you're beau-" Natsu stopped before he could even start to become soft. He has a likeness for Lucy, but as everyone, he's afraid of getting hurt. The cold and serious attitude came back to him.

"Excuse me?" She asked politely.

"It's nothing. I'm just wondering why?"

"Well, that's because when my parents died. I was handed down to my uncle, he inherited the family business since I was still a child. He wanted what's best for the company. He never cared about me, but he acted like did. He even forced me to marry a man I've never met, just because it would be best for my family conzern. And.........that's when I ran away." Said Lucy sadly.

"You ran away? Why didn't you agree?" Asked Natsu.

"Why didn't I agree? Because that was far beyond my boundaries! He pushed me to marry a man I've NEVER met! That's is the one thing a woman could never accept!" Shouted Lucy as she stood from her seat. Natsu was surprised at Lucy's sudden burst of rage.

Lucy sat back down and smiled at Natsu.

"I'm sorry. I caught myself of guard. It's just that...I had such pain way back as well. It felt like.........I just wanted to-"

"Run away from it all?" Added Natsu, with a serious, but cold expression. Lucy looked worried.

"Yes, exactly."

The Atmosphere turned light, feeling the same pain each of them felt.

"Mr. Dragneel?"

"Natsu." He corrected.

"Natsu, so all your life has been like concrete? Or maybe a statue?" She stated, joking a bit.

"You could say that. And how about you? A pet? Or maybe a puppet?"

"Puppet, huh? Maybe. Maybe not. I don't know what to call it exactly, but maybe that's it. Just a puppet." Lucy drank the last drop from her glass and stood up. "Would you excuse me?"

"Yes. I'm sorry if I offended you." Lucy left Natsu as she walks in the away from the garden and into the mansion. Natsu got a bit worried, and worried how he offended her. In a way. It looks like she realized something she never wanted to know, because of Natsu.

"I'm sorry...." Whispered Natsu to himself and stacked the plates for him to wash.
