Levy's POV
I think I have been sitting here for a solid half hour. I mean I just met a dragon, It has no intention of eating me but Dragon or not it's very demanding; for example, After sitting for a solid ten minutes, I tried to stand up to go grab my basket that has my books in it but It just growled at me so I sat down and it stopped.
I haven't had breakfast yet and in a few hours it will be lunch so in short, i'm hungry.
"I don't know why you want me to sit here but I am hungry and would really like some food." I suddenly said
I have also come to realise it can understand me perfectly fine so call me crazy but it's like talking to a cat when you're lonely. A big, scaley, demanding and scary cat.
Out of no where the Dragon jumped up and slowly started to flap it's huge wings and after a few seconds it started flying away. I fell over slightly with the amount of wind it was making. After a few more seconds I huffed in annoyance, so it just decides to fly away, great. At least I can get my books now. I stood up and walked over to the little hide out I had, it's not really a hideout anymore considering a Dragon, of all things, found me. When I entered the hideout I heard a loud thump and I turned around to see the Dragon and It appeared to have something in it's mouth. I grabbed my basket and walked over to it. It seemed to be looking around but when it looked down to see me standing in front of It; It lowered it's head and placed a bunch of fruits infront of me, that's when he layed back down onto the ground causing a loud thump.
"Food?" I questioned
I sat down and looked at what the Dragon gave me and I saw apples and different types of berries but one thing intrigued me, it was a large metal chunk. I looked up at the Dragon and it was just watching me, kinda creepy if you ask me. I hesitantly picked up the chunk of metal and I realised it was iron.
"Iron? Why do you have Iro-" But I was interuppted.
The Dragon leaned forward and grabbed the chunk of iron out of my hands and ate it. The Dragon ate the iron! I swallowed my salivia; wow, strong teeth I guess?
"Su-Surely you're still hungry? I mean I do have alot of fo-food here." I said nervously
No answer, not even a nod, I sighed and grabbed an apple taking a bite out of it. I smile at the taste, it was one of the freshest apples i've tasted in a while, must of been freshly picked.
After I finished my apple I ate a few berries and my stomach was satisfied, for now.
"Thank you Dragon." I said smiling up to the beast.
I got a soft growl in reply, grumpy fella. I stood up and brushed off my orange dress, although there really was no point anymore. I looked back at the Dragon and even though it was lying down it's head height was about my height, maybe a bit shorter. I don't know why I was doing this but I started to walk forward; closer and closer I was getting to this beast. The Dragon started to growl and move backwards but I put my hand out anyway. The Dragon growled louder and I flinched pulling my hand back.
"S-Sorry...don't know what came over me." I said stepping back
The Dragon growled again so I stopped stepping backwards and I just looked at it, huffing a bit of my messy hair out of my face.
"Well what do you want me to do? I couldn't get my basket until you gathered food, not to mention that my hair and dress is a mess, my cloak is up in the tree but it's covered in ash-" I said annoyed but I was interuppted when I said the word ash because the Dragon growled "And could you quit growling at me, it confuses me. Are you angry? Do you want to slaughter my body and eat me? or do you want me to be an obediant little human?" I replied.
I sat down on the ground and grabbed the first book out of my basket so I could start reading the Dragon chronicals. I looked at the Dragon before I started reading and it just looked annoyed. Like how a cat would have that pouty face when you didn't give it food. Why do i keep comparing Dragons to cats? I opened the first page to my book and started to read the Prolouge.
From high up they looked like birds but we all knew who they truly are; Dragons.
Now that's one way of introducing a book I smiled.
Dragons and humans both, used to co-exist and help eachother with their day to day needs. Humans would help get food for these beasts and help protect their young when needed and there were humans called Dragon Riders that rode them in races, to fly across oceans and deliver to different countries and the Dragons would help with heat, weapons, healing and take care of nature. Although Dragons didn't speak any of the languages that humans spoke, mages-
Mages! How was this book even allowed to be in the libary?
-found a way to allow Dragons and Human's to speak with one simple spell.
Oh how I wish there was a spell for that right now.
But one day a mage had convinced a number of Dragons that the humans were deceiving them and using their powers for their own advantage and eventually, the Dragons ended up beleiving this mage and this mage went by the name Acnologia.
"Acnologia huh? Weird name." I said outloud.
I suddenly heard some loud shifting in front of me so I lowered my book and looked at the Dragon.
"What?" I asked annoyed. The book is so interesting and it has to interupt.
The Dragon stood up on all fours and took one step foward and nudged my book with it's head, causing me to almost fall form collision.
"Why are you nudging my book. You didn't even want me to touch you a minute ago." I asked still annoyed.
The Dragon nudged it again and looked at me then nudged it.
"Do you want me to read it to you?" I asked
The Dragon nodded but it's eyes seemed serious, did I do something?
"Why though? This book is about Dragons but surely a Dragon wouldn't take any interest in a humans writings of it's own species, you know more about it then we do!" I explained
The Dragon just ignored me and nudged the book again and I sighed starting the sentence again but this time outloud.
"But one day a mage had convinced a number of Dragons that the humans were deceiving them and using their powers for their own advantage and eventually, the Dragons ended up beleiving this mage and this mage went by the name Acnologia."
I saw out of the corner of my eye, the Dragon flinched, It flinched!
"Acnologia was a powerful mage and was well known throughout the world for his good deeds and magic so no one suspected this man to be behind a Dragon attack that would awake a new war, The war of Dragons. Although there were a few who knew of Acnologia's plans and they were the elders. The Dragon of Fire, The Dragon of Iron and Steel and The Dragon of the Sky's and Heavens. All the elder's ever wanted was peace throughout the Human and Dragon regions but of course one selfish mage had to put it all to ruin; To use the Dragons power and to make them think that it is the humans that are deceiving them not Acnologia himself. Thus as punishment the three Dragons confronted Acnologia and thretened that he would become one of them and be under their control if he didn't call down the attack. Acnologia scoffed at their threts saying.
"I shan't be a wizard but a Dragon I will be! A mistake thee have made."
The Elders were furious at his taunts so they each put their powers together and turned him into The Great Black Dragon.
For a few months they were able to control Acnologia and they explained to the humans of his crimes but there were Dragons who still beleived Acnologia's claims. More than a dozen Dragons challenged the Elders Thus weakening the three and allowing Acnologia to launch the first Dragon attack."
I paused. Although this is just fiction i can't help but feel anger towards those foolish Dragons and Acoligia. I shook my head and continued.
"Bloodshed was the outcome, many innocent lives of men, woman and children were taken away by Acologia The Black Dragon and his Army. It went on for years making humans cower in fear, afraid of being the Dragons next meal. Human's even began to fear mages for a few bagan to take Acologia's side to make his forces stronger. He ruled the world until one day three mages stepped forward and challenged Acnologia and his army to an all out war."
That's where I stopped, it was an average Prolouge, explained the basics so we could understand the story ahead but I placed the book down, marking the page, and looked up at the Dragon once again and it's red eyes were wide.
"Surely the story isn't that shocking, it's just fiction." I giggled
The Dragon looked up at me a growled and that's when I realised the sun was in the middle of the clear blue sky; I sighed.
"Guess it's lunch time." I said to myself, reaching back to the left over apples and berries.
I grabbed an apple and ate it along with another and again I was satisfied.
That's when I thought.
"Do you eat anything besides Iron?" I asked
The Dragon just looked at me as if to say I was stupid.
"Of course you eat more than just Iron." I sighed
I placed my hands out and yelled.
"Solid Script Iron!"
As soon as these words were said a large word that said 'Iron' Appeared infront of me and the Dragon jumped up in surprise. It then slowly lowered it's head and sniffed it but not too long after it took a big bite out of it and gave a low satisfied growl.
"You're welcome Dragon." I said smiling.
The Dragon growled softly, not a demanding growl but I couldn't think of anything or what It was trying to tell me. I guess i'll find out later.
