"Property of no one."
I watched Laurel from the roof of the building near hers'. As I heard a slight noise from behind me, I glanced back before running across the roof, an arrow landing where I had just been. I jumped over the roof onto another, rolled into a crouch, threw my head back, getting my hair out of my face before I got back to running, my metal baton in hand.
All of a sudden, ropes wrapped around me and I was stuck in place. I breathed in and out deeply, trying to control my ongoing emotions. I looked ahead of me to see The Arrow approaching me. "Why are you following Laurel Lance?"
"I could ask the same thing of you," I retorted, smirking, my face contorted in amusement. "I guess some things never change. You and her, always and forever."
"Who are you?" He demanded, slowly advancing towards me with prey like steps.
"Once you know, your life will never be the same," I told him honestly in a slight whisper.
"I could take it."
"Not this time." I paused, staring into his hypnotic blue eyes. "Ollie." His eyes widened in realization and shock. He slowly raised his hand, taking off my mask and wig. He took a few steps back in shock, taking off him hoodie as he did so.
"Sara?"
"I'll give you some time to let it sink in." I leaned forward, threw a small exploding device beside him. When it went off, I released myself from the rope and jumped off the roof, running as far away as I could get from Oliver Queen.
I slowly approached Oliver as he went to walk out of his club. "Did you tell my Laurel that I'm alive?"
"No." He turned to me, taking in my appearence. "Sarah. I saw you die."
"Not the first time that's happened, right?" I smirked, tilting my head as I stared him up and down. He was still very good looking, but now, i've relaized how I don't love him anymore. "And I thought you were dead, too." I took in a breath. "What happened to Slade?"
"Where have you been?"
"Everywhere."
"That's not an answer."
"Well, it's the one you're getting," I told him, my eyes wandering away from his. "About a year ago, I started hearing tales of the Starling City vigilante." I gave Oliver a pointed look. "The man in the green hood." I smiled lightly. "I knew it was you."
"I had never known you as much of a fighter. Where did you pick that up?" He questioned, taking in my broader figure.
"I met some rough people," I told him firmly, looking into his eyes. "Thought I should get rougher, too." Memories of my past experiences got the better of me. Memories that were torture. I couldn't escape them, or hide from them; they were the worst kind of monster. I was scared of what my past held, all the memories that seemed to never escape me. They were pin point needles, piercing my skin. I couldn't scream or fight back, I had to just endure the pain as the pictures of the dead's face's flashed through my mind. I could neither hide or run or fight them. My memories were indeed my worst enemy and the thing that would most likely destroy me. I wasn't a girl anymore and never would be again.
"Sarah. Why did you come back?"
"The earthquake," I stated.
"Because you wanted to make sure your best friend was safe." I nodded slolwy at his realization. "But now you're still here, watching over them. Protecting them. So, did you come here to make sure I didn't tell them?" He paused, looking deep into my eyes. "Or because you were hoping I had?
I came up behind the criminals who have been stealing guns and shooting at random places. I positioned my baton in my hand the right way, alerting them of my presence. Easily, I hit one of the men in the head with one end and blocked a hit with the other end. I twirled my body around, bent my body slightly and slashed one of the guys in the legs with it. I kicked my foot out, tripping the guy that came up behind me. I whirled around, doing a whole one-eighty, hitting two guys in the head as they ran towards me.
Gun shots were then heard as the wooshing sound of arrows were sounded. I jumped onto one of the men's back, put the baton against his neck ans choked him. I threw his dead body to the ground before moving onto the next guy.
Once I was done with the last man, I turned to face Oliver. "Behind you," I mouthed to him. He turned around to face The Mayor.
"Old school weapon. Respect. But can your arrows do this?" He fired the huge ass gun in his hand. Quickly, Oliver shot an arrow that hit it. The thing exploded and we fell to the ground for cover.
I nodded to Oliver who took my baton and I took his bow. I wacked a guy upside the head with it. When he didn't go down, I tripped him, him falling to the ground with me on top of him. I started bashing his head in with Oliver's bow. Once down with him, I stood up and automatically shot an arrow at a guy who came up behind Oliver.
We walked towards each other and handed each other our respected weapons. I then zoomed through the trucks, coming up behind The Mayor. I hit him on the back, kicked him in the back of his knees, then held the baton to his neck. "You hurt a friend of mine," I spat into his ear.
"Let him go," Oliver told me.
"You can't save a city with forgiveness," I told him, tightening my grip on my baton.
"You don't have to forgive him. But you do have to let him live," Oliver pleaded with me, a soft tone in his voice.
I pressed the baton more into his neck, enjoying his trouble om breathing before roughly letting go. "Bitch. I knew you didn't have it in you."
I pulled him back to me roughly, making him pass out. "I really don't like that word."
"WHAT'S your plan, Sara?" Oliver asked me, concern in his voice. "Because right now, you just... Well, you're whipping across rooftops and keeping watch over your friends like some sort of ghost."
"We're both ghosts," I retorted, swallowing thickly. "We died on that island." My voice cracked, blinking my eyes furiously as I tried to contain my emotions like I have been taught.
"No we didn't. We both lived. And..." Oliver paused, breathing in through his nose. "I get that you have been in pain so long that it probably just feels normal now. But you can let it go and come home. I mean, I know that the earthquake brought you here, but your best friend kept you here." Oliver sighed. "You have to start with Laurel and then go tell your family. You have to tell them, Sara. They need you. We all do."
"You told them that I died on "The Gambit"." I reminded Oliver, crossing my arms, keeping my head down so others won't see me. "If they know the truth... They would never-- they would never talk to me again. Not one of them." He looked me in the eyes. "But it'd be worth it."
