season one, episode two, wrong side of the bars
Odessa was undercover, her long brown hair tangled around her back as she walked around the crowded bar. "Andrea, you looked lost tonight. Is everything alright?" Callie, one of the female workers questioned, her eyebrows furrowed in concern.
Odessa knew she shouldn't be worried about Diego's disappearance, one, he has the best group of detectives looking for him; including his dad and two, she was working herself and needed to stay focused.
Odessa faked a smile, "I'm alright. Just had a late night, last night and didn't get a good night sleep." She informed Callie, in which this time, it wasn't much of a lie. She didn't get a good night sleep last night.
All she could remember was the last conversation she had with Julie rolling over and over, she didn't even get to say goodbye. "Andrea!" Odessa jumped up in shock, Callie looked genuinely worried. "Snap out of it, Aaron is on his way over and we both know how he hates people that are lacking."
Odessa rolled her shoulders back and picked up another round of shots for the business men in the back, "I'm not slacking off, Callie. I'm perfectly fine." Odessa hissed, her cover still fully in tact.
Callie rolled her eyes but knew better than to bite back at Aaron's favourite employee. He'd release hell if he had heard that anyone had gone off on her or decided that they wanted to start a fight.
Odessa plastered another fake smile on as she reached the table, "Here's your drinks, guys. Enjoy."
"I'd enjoy it more if your fine ass sat down with us." Odessa could smell the drink coming off of his lips, before a body was pressed up against hers. The large amount of cologne made her pinpoint who it was effectively.
"Hitting on my server, are we Nathan?" Aaron's dark voice came from behind her, and Odessa's skin crawled, yet she stayed in character; leaning back into him, like she was itching for security.
The man that had made the statement, Nathan shrank back into the seat. "Sorry man, I didn't know she was yours." Odessa breathed out through her nose, disgusted to see that this man thought that she was his property.
"Damn right, you stay away from her you drunk ass," He guided Odessa away from them, "Are you alright sweetheart?" Odessa did everything not to shiver in disgust at the nickname.
She nodded, quietly. "I'm fine. I'm going to get back to work," She muttered before slipping from his arms and into the crowd. "I'm going to need a shower after this." She whispered to herself, before getting back to the bar.
"Is that why he likes you so much?" Hallie came up behind Odessa, sneering. Hallie was like a mean girl in high school, she was always out to get her. "Because your sleeping with him?" She almost screamed out.
Odessa rolled her eyes and turned around to face her, "I'm not sleeping with him, and ever if I was. It would be none of your business." She snapped before pushing her to the side and walking away.
It was a mere second before Odessa felt her pull her hair back, and drag her to the floor. Odessa grunted before managing to unpin her arm and bring it up behind her; hearing the tail tale signs of a broken nose. "You bitch!" She roared, trying to pin down her arm again.
"Hallie!" A bouncer that worked at the bar came from behind them, pulling Hallie off; albeit she was struggling and throwing her arms around, wailing that Odessa was a bitch that deserved it. Jake, another bouncer helped Odessa up.
"Are you alright?" He questioned, softly; sometimes Odessa wondered why he worked here. As a cartel leaders bouncer. "Andrea." He patted her forehead, trying to gain Odessa's attention but she sighed instead.
"I'm alright," She breathed out. "It's not the first time some bitch has tried to fight me."
Jake gave her a questioning look, "You're bleeding, and you went down onto the floor pretty hard. I think you should get it checked out."
"No!" Odessa quickly shouted out, Jake took a step back at her outburst. "No, no hospitals." She calmed herself down. Odessa knew if she went to the hospital, there'd be a lot of questions that she wouldn't be ready to answer.
"At least get it cleaned up." He muttered and she nodded before giving a soft, sad smile before heading towards the bathroom. Once she was inside and locked the door, she sighed; running her fingers through her now bloody and matted hair.
"Are you alright?" Noah's voice came from her earpiece, and she jumped up in shock for a moment, forgetting that she had it in. "That looked like a nasty fight." Odessa sighed, as she leaned against the sink.
"It'll heal, and it's not been the worst fight I've been in," She reminded him, and Noah just hummed lightly. "And I'm almost done for the night anyway." Noah just left it at that, letting Odessa clean up in peace.

Odessa hissed, lurching back away from Noah who was cleaning out the bloody wound on the top of her head. "I thought I told you to clean this up in the bar?" He barked out frustratedly, but Odessa knew it was only because he worried and cared.
Odessa closed her eyes for a moment, "I got interrupted before I could," She started to explain, flinching when he pressed the non-alcoholic medical wipe too far into the gash. "A girl really needed to be sick, I think she had been using."
"Alright, all done. It shouldn't get infected," He smiled at her, before growing serious. "Jay and your dad have been blowing up your phone. You need to call Jay back at least, he's already suspicious about what you do. We don't need him poking around and blowing your cover."
Odessa rolled her eyes, "I'll call him. Just let me get a coffee first."
"Nu-uh, call him now. Then you can have your precious coffee." He pulled her mug away from her before walking off towards the break room; leaving a gaping Odessa looking at his retreating back.
"Unbelievable." Odessa rolled her eyes as she opened the drawer at her desk, grabbing her phone and switching it on. Notifications coming in as soon as it had turned on, and most of them from Jay, some from Will and some from her dad. She clicked on Jay's number.
After a few rings, he picked up. "Hey JJ."
"Don't hey JJ me," He hissed through the receiver, "You went dark on me, and then stood me and your dad up. What the hell happened? I even called Will to see if he had heard from you, I was tempted to send out a search party."
Odessa leaned back in her seat, "You're so predictable, but I'm fine. I just had to cover for my co-worker and my phone has been off all night. I was going to warn you that I was cancelling but I guess it just slipped my mind."
"You can't keep doing shit like this, Odessa," He sighed, she could hear the worry in his voice and it made her heart sink. "We already lost Izzy, I cannot physically cope with loosing you too." Odessa frowned.
"Alright, I promise. I'll make it up too you," She sighed, leaning back in her seat. "How's Antonio coping?" She heard shuffling in the background and the light chatter that she had overhead disappear.
"Honestly?" Jay questioned and Odessa hummed. "He's strong, hanging in there but he's really upset. I'm proud of him for sticking it out this long."
"Let Antonio, anything he needs. I'm there, I don't know how he feels with a kid disappearing," She breathes out. "But I do know what it's like loosing a member of family to a kidnapping." She reminded him.
"Of course, I'll tell him," He breathes out at the reminder. "Look, just let me know when you're going to see your family and I'll come with."
"Okay, J. Love you."
"I love you too, O." The end dial rang clearly through her ears.
