Twenty Six
From that day on, Hoseok was almost always by Taehyung’s side. It was quite adorable, but at the same time a little annoying for Jin.
The man was still angry at Hoseok, unbelievably mad when he’d found out what the man had done to his precious little brother, but he could see how Taehyung trusted the man and opened up to him after a while.
So he let it be.
Taehyung and Hoseok went on so many more dates, they grew closer and closer.
They didn’t exactly have a label for their relationship yet, but Hoseok was determined to change that.
He still felt guilty on some days, about his actions, but Taehyung always made sure to assure him that he was forgiven. But Hoseok still did small things every day to make up for the big mistakes he had made.
Small gifts, little love notes, little dates, cute little things that had Taehyung’s heart soaring. Hoseok was just perfect in every way possible. He didn’t know how he’d gotten so lucky, especially when he thought back to his days at the club.
Taehyung had expected to be used his whole life, then cast away when he was old and no longer useful, left to rot on the streets and die. But he’d found people who cared for him, he’d found his brother again, he’d found...potential love.
Taehyung was happier than ever, and he felt like nothing could drag him down from the high that he was on.
Tonight Hoseok had planned yet another romantic evening, one of many in the past few days. Taehyung was excitedly getting ready in his room, Jin sitting in the corner with his arms crossed.
“Stop being such a grouchy pants, Hyung. Please, he’s proven how sorry he was.”
“He tried to rape you, Taehyung. And you’re holding hands and singing kumbaya with him like nothing’s wrong.”
Taehyung frowned, turning away from the mirror that he was standing in front of to face his brother. “I never said that it wasn’t wrong, it was, Hyung. But Hoseok apologized, and he’d done nothing but try and make up for it.”
“I know but—“
“He’s trying, that’s all you can really get, you know? And he didn’t rape me, Hyung, he stopped before it could get that far. He’s trying to make up for his mistake, and I’m giving him a second chance.” Jin sighed and nodded.
“Don’t give him another one if he fucks up again.”
“I won’t. But everyone deserves a second chance.”
“Not everyone.” Jin muttered. Taehyung shrugged and turned back to the mirror, not wanting to argue with his brother anymore today.
Later that evening, Taehyung went out with Hoseok, giggling and being happy. Hoseok took him out for a romantic dinner, taking him to a small and comfortable diner, ordering some burgers and fries to enjoy and laugh over as they grew closer and closer.
Taehyung loved that Hoseok didn’t take him to fancy restaurants every night, sometimes just keeping things simple.
And later, Hoseok took him on a cliche walk through the park.
“I really like you, Taehyung.” Hoseok suddenly blurted out. “And I know I've made mistakes in the past and—“
“Just spit it out, Hobi.” Taehyung teased lightly. “Stop hanging yourself up on the past, and stop apologizing. I forgave you a long time ago for your mistakes, and you’re still trying to make up for it, which I love like you wouldn’t believe.”
Hoseok sighed out a breath, nodding. “Would you be my boyfriend?” Taehyung smiled wider, suddenly surprising Hoseok by jumping into his arms.
“Oh my god, I thought you’d never ask!” The boy said breathlessly. “Of course I’ll be your boyfriend! I was just waiting for your stubborn ass to ask, since I knew you would’ve said no if I did.”
“How did you know I would’ve said no?”
“You would’ve pulled something along the lines of ‘I hurt you and I’m not worthy enough’, am I right or am I right? So I just forced myself to wait for your stubborn ass to ask, I nearly died waiting.”
Hoseok grinned down at the male, kissing him on his lips. “Geez, you’re such a perfect man, Taehyung. Where in the world have you been hiding all my life?”
“In a little strip club that your boss owns.” Hoseok rolled his eyes and sighed once again.
“Way to crush the mood.”
“I know.”
