●Chapter 10●

■Rakshit■

"Aryan come on! This will profit us. We will thrive and reach a position our father was never able to reach" I tried convincing my brother who was not the one seeing to agree to whatever I was talking about.

"Lavanya why don't you tell him to leave?" Aryan ordered Lavanya.

"Rakshit, you need to exit please" Lavanya whispered not sure of how I was going to react. She was like the piece of potato pie in between two buns of a burger.

"No thank you so much" after passing her a devilish smile I took his steps forward towards Aryan "Trust me, all will go well"

"You have always done what you want Rakshit. I'm done with you! Do whatever you want but don't expect me to join those Mishras for dinner" Aryan sighed "It's not right"

"We surely will get a way ahead of our father" Claimed the confifent me while Aryan looked frustrated at the thought of joining hands with our enemies.

"Behaving like a fool won't help any of you" my proud smug was broken was the voice of Lavanya who stepped into the conversation with her part of information on the Mishras.

"What did you say?" Raising my eyebrows at her, I looked at Aryan who shook it off casualy.

Looks like someone else was always getting used to the new version of life.

"I said that you are behaving stupidly to think that your family enemies would help you get any better. Anyone would say the same, joining hands with your biggest rivals who have only played it dirty is utterly unprofessional of you. Mishras have always been tricking their enemies and despite knowing that they are only looking for an opportunity you provided them one. Morever they made an attempt at your own brother whom you love so dearly"

"How dare you-" As I was about to step in with my intentions to hurt her, Aryan stood in the middle blocking his way.

"I think you had enough for today Rakshit. Go home, we will talk this out later. Don't make me repeat myself" The one fact that could never be altered was that in spite of the quantity of anger I would hold in myself, how much I would fight with Aryan whenever Aryan would ask me to go away and don't let him repeat himself, I would never agrue back.

Always being the one to step back from argument and still he never gave me an opportunity to prove myself.

Such it has been since there childhood. Whenever I would get into a fight Aryan would be the one coming to the rescue and handling the situation so that I would not get into any trouble. Moreover being the younger sibling made me respect my elder brother in almost every situation.

Without arguing further with him, I left the office and drove back home, concentrating that Lavanya hurt my ego, so I would hurt something precious to her.

Not her sister though.

I could never think about hurting her. Nobody can ever intentionally hurt the person whom they loved. Not only did I call her love but also stood at the meaning of the word. Even if she didn't try to understand that I really in love with her. And nor did I try telling her what I feel.

It had to wait.

I was still out of my mind after my brother's so called assistant told me that I was wrong and I did not like it when anybody wronged me.

The person was destined to either be tormented or be destroyed but the fact that it was my own brother's someone who was standing up against me was messing up with my sanity.

I drove back home, my mind laden with frustration when a servant met me at the gate. The servant already looked terrified and seeing my mood today let his fear rise to a greater height.

On seeing the servant waiting for me but keeping mum when he reached him triggered the little anger he had in him. "What's it?" My voice was calm at the starting but when no reply came my voice roared through the entire dark mansion.

"We lost five guards to our rivals today sir" he bowed his head as my anger was more prominent.

After listening to this, my anger crossed it's heights and the prey to it was still unaware of what was going to happen. This was going to be that person who was in the secret basement about which was away from Aryan's knowledge. If he had known that then he surely would've tried setting the man free.

The man was our father's elder brother, the root cause of our dad's turning from good to evil. Family above all, but he wasn't our family but the destroyer of it. Even if we welcomed him with open arms he started a rebellion against dad.

For years we were unaware of who started the rebellion but after dad was dead, I sneaked into his files and found that Tej Shergill was behind all this. And it was him only because of whom mom died.

A loop of lies and mysteries had started since then, somehow connected to these girls but we did not know exactly how.

Aryan believed so much in his uncle and trusted him like our dad so I did not have the courage to break his trust. So I secretly kidnapped my own uncle and locked him in the secret room, away from Aryan's knowledge.

His son, Vicky Shergill had high doubts that it was me but the lack of surity prevented him from taking an action. I was dead sure that he was the one behind this attack too.

"Sir" a guard stepped forward with beads of perspiration lining his forehead.

"What?" I asked him and shut the door of the car. The sudden and loud bang of the car door caused him to flinch at his place in his protection. "What do you want now? How can you have so much guts after not being able to do your job? We lost five men"

"Sir actually" he stammered "There is something more"

"Fantastic!" I mocked while holding his collar and pulling him to meet the tip of my gun which I took out on hearing his part of news. "And what's that?"

"The attackers had entered the mansion and open fired at the guards who were in the garden" The fact that his voice shook along with his terrified body parts was insane to a bad level. With a nervous click of his tongue he joined his hands in front of me "We're sorry sir but they shot mam and she's in the hospital now. Your phone was switched off so we couldn't inform you"

"What?!" I yelled and dropped the gun, still holding his collar and jerking him. "Which hospital? I said which one!"

"Sanjivani hospital" he stammered.

Throwing him to the other side, I rushed into the car and started driving towards the hospital. The state of anger was replaced by sudden intense fear. A throbbing heart, blurry eyes, fear creeping inside every part of my body and the mild anxiety attacks made it difficult to drive.

I don't want you to leave me Drishti.

I want to be with you, forever.

The moment I reached the hospital, I rushed inside leaving the car outside the hospital itself. Running was forbidden in that hospital but since it was me, the security could not stop it. 8 ran upto the reception and screamed for her room number.

"Room number 245" the receptionist told me.

Taking the lift, I reached the floor where the room was and started looking for it when I noticed some of our guards standing outside a room, providing full security. I immediately knew who was in that room.

I was about to enter the room when Maria stopped me, saying that the doctor was inside as she had just woken up after anaesthesia.

"When did this happen Maria?"

"In the morning itself sir. We tried contacting you but your phone was switched off. Not even you but Arjun sir's number was also not available. She was bleeding heavily so we brought her here" she informed. "She's okay. Don't be scared"

This soft side was the one I never wanted to show anyone but the happening could not stop me from worrying about her.

Till now no one knew I had my eyes on someone. If this happened when no one knew then I don't want to imagine in what danger would her life would be when everyone would come to know about her.

As I was thinking about it and trying to focus the rotating world around me, the door of her room opened and a doctor fully covered in mask stepped out of it. He nodded in approval and walked away from the room.

I was having this gut feeling that he was something else. The way he hid his face by lifting his mask and checking the people around him on coming out was not something that a normal doctor would do.

But at this point, the person who was most important to me was Drishti. I needed to check if she was okay.

I ran into the room impatiently and found her laying on the bed, a blue optic fibre fracture wrapped around her leg as she rested herself comfortably looking at the door. "Hello ji!" She laughed.

Why the heck?!

...

Lmao. Why did she laugh?

Pray to God that I do not forget the reason. My story line always undergoes a change whenever I sit down to finally write a chapter.
