In a state of panic, Colby hastily fled from a group of menacing bullies who had cornered him. After turning a corner, he leaned against a wall, gasping for air. Despite hoping for the bullies to leave, their footsteps grew louder. Upon opening his eyes, Colby was confronted by Elton Castee, one of his tormentors.

Elton approached the smaller male, cracking his knuckles and giving a sly smirk. He greeted Colby with, "Hey, pretty boy..."

"No, wait, please!" Colby pleaded, not wanting to get beaten to the pulp at the moment. Elton ignored his pleas as he threw a punch into his abdomen. Colby fell to the ground, groaning as he clutched his stomach in agonizing pain. Tears were at the rim of his eyes, but he held them back, not wanting to seem weak. Elton chuckled as he threw a kick to Colby's stomach, earning a painful yelp from the brunette. Elton grabbed a fist full of Colby's hair quickly, earning a cry from the younger.

"Listen to me, pretty boy... You aren't special! You aren't strong! You're weak, pathetic, obnoxious, and quiet! I want you dead, you hear me?" As Elton whispered into Colby's ear, his voice grew aggressive, causing Colby to shiver and a tear to roll down his cheek. Elton then walked away and left Colby alone to grapple with his painful thoughts. Colby heard footsteps approaching him, but he didn't bother to run as he was overwhelmed and didn't care if it was another member of Elton's gang. 

"Are you alright?" Colby heard a distressed voice in front of him and looked up to see a shorter blonde boy with captivating eyes. They gazed at each other for a moment, as if struck by a sudden connection. Colby realized he hadn't responded to the boy's concern and nodded silently, avoiding eye contact. The blonde boy offered a helping hand, pulling Colby up swiftly with remarkable strength for his size. Colby was pleasantly surprised by his new acquaintance's unexpected power. Colby smiled at the blonde boy, appreciating his concern for him. 

"Thank you.." Colby spoke softly, expressing gratitude while avoiding eye contact and feeling a bit bashful. The blonde boy let out a chuckle and gently nudged Colby's chin to face him, causing Colby's cheeks to turn red and reveal his embarrassment, and maybe his affection for the blonde boy.

"No worries, can I get your name?" Before speaking kindly, the boy with blonde hair asked politely. "I'm Sam, Sam Golbach,"  Sam responded kindly, with a warm smile. Colby returned the smile before addressing their request.

"I'm Colby, Colby Brock,"  Colby answered with a beaming smile that could light up any room, Colby noticed a dark black x starting to form on Sam's cheek. Sam quickly caught on and returned the gaze, causing both of them to blush with shock and realization.

"You're... my soulmate?.." Colby asked as he gazed into Sam's eyes, feeling breathless. Sam returned the gaze and smiled, then cautiously drew Colby nearer by placing his hands on Colby's waist. Although they had only just met, Colby felt a slight blush on his cheeks. Slowly, Sam leaned in for a kiss, and Colby reciprocated. As their lips met, they felt an electric connection. It felt like they had found their place in the world. After a moment, Colby pulled away with a gasp and rested his head on Sam's shoulder, holding onto Sam with his arms wrapped around his broad shoulders. 

They felt like they knew each other forever.

Sparks went off when they met each other's gaze.

As they held each other close, the warmth of their bodies intertwined.

They knew what this was...

They were indeed soulmates.
