Will woke up suddenly breathing heavily and, trying not to wake up his siblings, got up and walked outside. Chiron had made a new rule so that anyone who needed to get away from their nightmares or just get a breath of fresh air at night was allowed to do so without a harpy interfering, as he walked down towards the lake, he started hearing someone singing, their voice was soft and melodic, as good as if they were a child of apollo or born with natural talent in the musical area. He knew for a fact it wasn't one of his siblings, tho. He recognised the voice as the one an only nico di angelo,son of hades. Although he had never heard nico sing before,he knew it was him, he would recognise the young emos voice anywhere. He walked up carefully and stopped a few feet away from the tree nico was sitting against.

"Close your eyes, I know what you see. The darkness is high, and you're in ten feet deep. But we've survived, more terrible monsters, then sleep, you know I will be here to tell you to breathe."
Nico took a breath,and only then did Will realise nico was crying. 'So that's why he hasn't noticed me yet.' Will thought, realisation dawning on him. Before he could move, though, nico started the next verse, this one in Italian.

"Tu sei il mio soldatino" ('you're my little soldier' Will translated in his head).

"La ragione per cui vivo" (the reason I live)

"Non ti scordar di me"(don't forget me)

"Lo veglieró su di te" (I'm watching over you)

"Stumbling lost the last choice of all that you meet.its the cost of ruling those neath your feet. Paths you've crossed and trust you're trying to keep. You're exhausted, listening for a voice that can't speak. Ma nico, mio Caro." Another tear joined the other and trailed down nicos cheek, will realised this was probably the song that nico had been humming a few days ago. The song nico had said his mother had sung to him before she had died.

Will crossed the space remaining between them and sat down beside nico and wrapped his arms around the Italian boy, and hugged him tight. After a minute, the son of hades leaned against Will and hugged him back.

"It's OK,neeks, I'm here,you're safe." Will murmured to the son of hades. "I know, I just miss them so much, will." Nico replied just as softly, a few more tears sliding down his face. Knowing he was talking about his sister, bianca, who had died on her first quest, and his mother Maria di angelo, who had been killed by zues, will said "I know nico, i know. You're gonna be ok."
