As nico sat down close to the fire surrounded by all his friends, except for Hazel,Frank,and Reyna because they had gone back to Rome, he felt a jumble of nerves. He had agreed with Will to sing with him at the campfire after being asked several times because, as Will put it , 'He had a voice like an angel.' Which was ironic, really, because that's what his surname meant. As nico thought all this, he felt Will nudge him and realised that it was their turn to sing. Nico felt Will squeeze his hand reassuringly. Then Will started strumming his guitar and started off the song:

"I've been around the world, seven wonders seven seas, but when all is said and done, you're the only thing I see, my love. So tell me what you're looking for?" Will nodded encouragingly at his boyfriend, and Nico began to sing." You're written in the stories, a living masterpiece, so when all is said and done, why are you standing next to me? My love. So tell me what you're looking for. And you said." Then Will took over the next part. "I don't need your symphony, I just want your voice and a melody. I don't need your diamond rings, I just want your love stop selling me. I don't need the wind that's underneath your wings, I just wanna know when you're landing. You don't need to be the king cause I just want the last man standing." Then nico joined in, both of them singing. "Ooooh oooh, oh-oh-oh-oh, oooooh oooh, oh." Now it was only nico."I've been around the world, lived a hundred fantasies, but when all is said and done, you're the only one I need, my love. Just tell me what you're looking for." Will took over again."You don't gotta fight so hard. Darling,this is love, not war. All I want is who you are. That's what I've been looking for. I don't need a symphony. As they finished, there was silence for a few seconds,then people started clapping, then percy said," Dam, di angelo, I didn't know you could sing!"And you're really good at it too!" Jason added, nodding appreciatively (we're just gonna pretend he never died, ok?) Nico started blushing slightly. Will leaned over and whispered,"You were great neeks." Before kissing him lightly on the lips. "You were amazing , as well, Will." Nico replied, smiling back, before wrapping his arms around Will and hugging him. "Did di angelo just smile?" Percy said jokingly, mocking a shocked face and laughing.

Nico glared at him, but before he could say anything,annabeth came over and kissed percy on the cheek before smiling and saying, "Leave him alone, Seaweed brain." Percy grumbled before kissing her and saying,"Fine, I still can't believe how much you've changed, from a 10 year old kid obsessed with a card game."Mythomagic," nico muttered under his breath. Percy waved his hand while saying, "Minor details, still can't  believe you've changed so much, though!" Nico rolled his eyes in response. The rest of the evening nico hung out with his friends and the rest of the campers, eating smores and chatting.

These were the times nico looked forward to when he was on a quest, fighting monsters or even fighting his own demons inside his head.
