Mortal AU

"Yes, dad, pick me up at the stadium gate." I said to my dad on the phone.

"Are you sure, Nico?" He asked.

"Yeah, and if by any reason that changes I'll let you know."

"What time do you want me to pick you up?"

"My friends told me it would end sometime between 10 and 10:30." I said, unknowing the other team would be so bad.

"Okay. I'll see you later."

"Bye." I hang up the phone and turned to my friends.

"Have you never been to a football game?" Jason asked me

"I have. A few times, but I'm still learning." I had just moved from Italy about two years ago. I was more familiar with soccer than football.

"Cool." Percy said while stuffing some chocolate ice cream in his mouth.

"God, you're gross." Annabeth, Percy's girlfriend, said while cleaning his mouth.

"Hey, Nico?" Frank, a kid who played the drums for the band, called out to me. I turned around to face him. "Is Hazel coming?"

"Why do you want to know if my sister is coming?"

"She's my best friend." I glare at him slightly. Don't get me wrong, I like the guy. I'm still an overprotective brother, though. I know they like each other.

"She and Bianca will be here soon, but Reyna and Hylla are giving them a ride,so they have to wait for Hylla to get ready."

"So it'll be a while."

"Yeah."

"Hey, Nico? Wanna come and get some nachos?" Jason asked.

"Yeah, sure." I said. I was very hungry.

As we walked down to the food stands, I saw Will Solace standing there with his two best friends, Lou Ellen and Cecil. I had had a crush on that sunny boy for about a year now, but every time I tried to talk to him, I was a stuttering mess. I sighed and continued walking to get some Nachos.

"Reyna! Where have you been?" I asked my best friend over the loud screams. "We are winning 24-0 already!"

"Sorry! Hello and Hazel took forever to get ready!" She yelled back. "Have you seen Mr. Sunny D yet?!"

"Reyna! I don't even think he is gay!"

"Oh, believe me, he is! How many times have we caught you staring at him, again?!"

"Pure coincidence!"

"Ha! As if!"Reyna says while rolling her eyes.  Suddenly my phone starts ringing, so I pick it up.

"Hello?"

"Nico, don't get mad, but we kinda lost, Hazel." Percy's voice says through the phone.

"You what?!" I yell into the phone. "You had one job! You just needed too keep an eye on her while I talked to Reyna! She's freaking claustrophobic! What if she's in the middle of a crowd?! Oh my God, I gotta go find her!"

"What happened?" Reyna asked with a frown.

"They lost Hazel." I say and run away looking for her in the crowd.

"HAZEL!" I yell. I see the rest of my friend doing the same. Frank looking terribly sick because he isn't allowed to leave the band station and Hazel is missing.

"NICO!" I hear someone call out. "WE FOUND HER!" I tuned around and see Hazel in Bianca's arms crying her heart out. I sprint there as fast as I can.

"Oh my God!" I say as I pull Hazel into my arms. "You're okay now. I've got you. Come on let's go back up." Hazel calm down and we go back to our seats.

"And with that, the Seahawks win the game!" The announcer says and we all celebrate. We won!

"I gotta call dad, where are you all getting picked up?" I say.

"At the Rec." Jason says. Hazel, Reyna, Bianca and Hylla left early because they were all tired, so it was only Jason, Percy, Annabeth and I left.

"Okay let me call my dad." I pulled out my phone and dialed my dad's number. "Hey dad, the game is over, could you pick me up at the Rec? That's where my friends are all getting picked up."

"Son, I'm leaving the house right now, I'll probably be there in twenty minutes, but could you find someone else to wait with? I don't want you waiting alone by such a dark place."

"Sure dad, I'll find someone else." I said even though I know I wouldn't. Almost everyone had already left.

"See you in a few." He said and hang up."

"Bye, guys. My dad is picking me up from the main entrance." I tally friends.

"Bye, Nico." They say as they walk to the opposite direction. I sigh and start walking to the entrance. Once outside I pull out my phone and start playing a random game.

"Are you serious, Cecil?! You said you could give me a ride!" I hear a voice yell in the distance.

"Sorry, bro, I didn't count with my grandma going to the Hospital." Cecil responded to who I'm guessing is Will.

"But Lou already left!"

"Call your dad then."

"Yeah, okay. It's fine. Go take care of your grandma."

"See on Monday, Will." Cecil says and runs to his car. Will stands beside me with his phone to his ear,

"Hi dad, can you come and pick me up?... Cecil's grandma is in the hospital and he can't take me home.... She already left... Thanks dad. See you in ten." Will hung up the phone, and tuned to me. He made a double-take. "Nico? Is that you?"

"Hi, Will." I said proud for not stuttering. Yet.

"Why are you still here?"

"Waiting on my dad."

"Same here." He pauses and takes a deep breath. "Nico, I was wondering if you wanted to go on a date sometime? I've been meaning to ask you for a while but was too nervous."

"You w-want to tak-ke me on a d-date?" Fucking stutter. "But, I thought you were straight?"

"About as straight as rainbow."

"Same."

"So, what do you say?"

"I'd love to." I say. 

"Give you your phone number, so we can plan out the details." He says handing me his phone. I type my number in and save it just as my car pull up. 

"That's my car." I say pointing to the black, BMW M3 Matte.

"And that's mine." He says pointing to red convertible.

"See around, Solace."

"I'll text you, Di Angelo."

I mounted my car and said hello to my dad.

"How'd it go?" He asked.

"Very good." I say with a small smirk.
