Nico Di Angelo and the Seven

This is based off of an amazing idea I saw in the comments with someone as snow white and the seven as the seven dwarfs so if that was you thank you so much! TRIGGER WARNING: Abusive relationships, alchohol and violence. This one's going to be sad, just a warning. Also, check the cast list for who in the seven is which of the dwarfs. Also at the top have a video that made me cry the first three times I watched it. Enjoy!

Nico's POV

He hit me one last time before I was running. I felt his hand on my cheek, my skin throbbing underneath. I glanced up at him, my tear filled eyes connecting with his golden ones. Ricardo had beautiful eyes, eyes that had drawn me in immediately, but now all they seemed to to was push me away, cause me pain. It was a second after that when I started running.

I didn't bring anything with me, I was too preoccupied with getting away from Ricardo. My feet were pounding against the pavement, slipping slightly in the slick coating of rain. Droplets peppered my head, flattening my hair down to my head but I didn't stop. I had no idea where I was going but I was getting away, and that was what mattered.

After half an hour of full out sprinting I arrived at a huge townhouse, panting heavily. Throughout my journey I hadn't stopped once but as soon as I stopped running the weight of the past twenty four hours dropped onto my shoulders, and I nearly buckled under the weight. I knocked on the door and after a few minutes it cracked open, six curious faces staring back at me. Hazel was the first person to smile and she grabbed my hand, dragging me into the warmth of the house. "Hi, Nico!" she grinned. "What're you doing here?"

"More like what happened," Annabeth muttered, chewing on a pencil previously behind her ear. "It was with Ricardo, wasn't it? I always knew he was bad news." Hazel glanced up at me, the tears streaming down my face confirming Annabeth's words.

"Don't cry!" she begged. "You can stay here!"

"Not in my bed," Jason muttered. "I need my beauty sleep."

"He can have my bed," Hazel decided. "I can sleep with Frank." Frank blushed a deep crimson, but nodded his approval of the plan. "Is everyone else okay with that?"

"I'm fine, but you're going to have to deal with some explosions," Leo said. A boom sounded in the other room and he winced. "I should go check on that. Nico, make yourself at home."

"I am perfectly okay with Nico staying here, but there is the cost to consider," Annabeth mused. "We're already behind with bills and another mouth to feed-"

"I have money!" I blurted. "I'll pay for everything!" Annabeth grinned.

"Welcome to our home, Nico!"

"Fine," Jason sighed. "Nico's tolerable, I guess."

"As long as he's not loud!" Piper called from her bed. "I need sleep!"

"Percy's already loud enough," Jason smirked, gesturing to Percy subtly wiping his nose.

"I told you I have allergies!" Percy whined. "I can't help it! And Nico, please don't take my tissues. I need them. Other than that, you can stay."  I let out a sigh of relief. I had somewhere top stay and right now, that was my first priority.

"Come on," Hazel said, putting a hand on my back and leading me toward her bed. "You've had a long day, you should get some sleep."

I didn't have any pajamas but I was almost asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. I was in between Percy, who was constantly sneezing and Jason, who was yelling at Percy for constantly sneezing but somehow I felt more at home here than I ever did with Ricardo.

I woke up twelve hours later to Hazel gently shaking my shoulder. "Hey," she murmured. "We have to go to work, but we'll be back later, okay?" I nodded, still half asleep and got a sisterly kiss from Hazel on the head in return. "Relax today," she implored. Again I nodded and seven pairs of feet stomped out the door, on their way to their job as gardeners for a huge corporation. I fell back into a dreamless sleep, my brain recovering from the events of the past twenty four hours. When I woke up six hours later, feeling more well rested than I had in years I slid out of the bed, wandering the huge, empty house. I ended up in the kitchen, all the food I could ever imagine at my fingertips. I peered inside the cabinets, dragging out a few peaches and a bag of sugar. I had been taken in, and the least I could do was make them a nice pie.

The pie got out of hand. By the time the seven got home I had an enormous meal spread out on the ten foot table. The seven plodded into the kitchen, covered in dirt and grime but a smile spread over their faces when they saw the food.

"Aw, Nico, did you make us dinner?" Hazel squealed. Sheepishly I grinned, scratching the back of my head.

"I needed a way to thank you, and I thought that a good meal would be nice after a hard day of work," I responded. Even Jason cracked a tiny smile.

"I guess you're not all bad," he smirked, sliding into one of the seats. He grabbed one of the porcelain plates, loading it with heaps of steaming food. The rest did the same, attacking the food like a heard of wild animals. Twenty minutes later the food was gone, every single plate licked clean. Leo leaned back, patting his stomach.

"That was deli-" he didn't get a chance to finish his sentence before he tipped back too hard, his arms flying back to catch himself as he fell to the ground. Jason roared with laughter and Leo hopped up, angrily brushing off his shirt.

"This isn't funny, Jason," he snapped.

"It is when it happens every other meal," Frank giggled. A smile spread across my face as I watched my friends banter good naturedly. I had only been here a day, but I already felt as if I had found a home.

I made another big meal the next day, the kitchen filled with delicious smells of vegetables and smoking meat. A knock sounded on the huge wooden door and I bounced over, thrusting it open to see Ricardo.

His beautiful brown hair was a mess, his eyes bloodshot and droopy. A half empty bottle of beer swung from his hand and the scent of alcohol wafted off of him, the smell making my head pound. The smell brought back bad memories, the worst memory standing in front of me. Even though he was drunk he was still insanely gorgeous, the same beauty that had attracted me before I knew the monster that resided behind his exterior. "You left me," he spat, a droplet of spit flying onto my cheek. "I can't believe you left me." There was beer on his breath and it made me want to throw up.

"Ricardo, how did you even find me?" I gasped.

"I looked everywhere," Ricardo said, stumbling closer to me until he was right up against me. "Why did you leave me?" An angry tear snaked out of his eye.

"It wasn't a good relationship," I responded, pushing him away from me. "I couldn't be with you anymore. Just leave, please." A sneer took over his face, and he reached behind him, pulling something from his waistband.

"You'll never leave me again," he hissed. I had only a second to register what was happening before he sent a bullet spiraling at me, embedding itself in my stomach. I toppled over, pain ripping through my veins. Ricardo regarded me with contempt, giving a kick to my gut, sending another wave of pain roaring through me. "Have a good time with your life," he muttered. His retreating back got hazy as he walked away from me, leaving me bleeding out on the stoop.

Will's POV

The neighborhood had been quiet before I heard the gunshot. It sounded through the air, destroying the peaceful silence and my head jerked up to see a man drunkenly stumbling away from my neighbor's house, a gun hastily tucked into the back of his jeans. The book I had been reading thudded out of my hands, and I let it fall to the ground as I sprinted out the door, not even bothering to put on a pair of shoes.

A boy I didn't know was laying on the stoop of the neighbor's door, blood leaking out of a wound in the center of his stomach. I dropped down next to him, pressing on the wound in an attempt to staunch the flow of blood. His raven black hair was falling in his face, his dark brown eyes fluttering closed and his face dangerously pale.

"What happened?" I gasped, pulling out my phone with a free hand. With my other I pressed harder and he winced.

"Crazy ex- boyfriend, I guess," he muttered, his hand gripping my wrist tightly. I dialed nine one one, waiting anxiously for an operator to pick up.

"Nine one one, what is your emergency?" The soothing voice of a woman answered the phone, her tone annoyingly calm.

"I'm on 141 Half Blood drive, and a boy has been shot," I said, the words spilling out of my mouth.

"Someone is being dispatched to your location, try to stay calm, sir." How could I stay calm? A person about my age was laying unconscious in front of me, bleeding out onto my left hand. I was anything but calm. Even so, I tried to calm my breathing. I hung up, pressing both hands tightly to the boy's stomach. His face was contorted with pain and my heart hurt every time I pressed down too hard and he groaned, squirming under my hands.

The ambulance arrived, screeching to a halt halfway on the sidewalk. Two paramedics in matching uniforms dashed out carrying a stretcher between them. Without a word they heaved the boy off the ground, safely depositing him onto the stretcher. There was a pool of blood where he had previously been laying and the sight made me sick.

"You coming?" grunted one of the paramedics. I glanced back at my house where a fresh pot of tea and a good book was waiting for me. Then, I looked back at the boy on the stretcher, murmuring incoherently.

"Yeah," I decided, following the trio into the back of the ambulance. I stared at the mystery man the entire ride to the hospital, hoping with all of my heart that he would be alright.

As soon as we got there the man was rushed to surgery, leaving me pacing up and down the waiting room, to anxious to sit down. Only an hour after I arrived seven people rushed in, sparking recognition in my mind. They were my seven neighbors, the ones that lived in the house that the boy had been shot in. Cautiously I approached them, tapping a dark skinned girl with frizzy hair a year or two younger than me on the shoulder. She spun around, her eyes narrowing when she saw me.

"You live in the house over, right?" she asked. "What are you doing here?"

"Isn't it obvious?" a blonde girl with stormy grey eyes snorted. "He was there when Nico got shot." Nico. So that was his name. The eyes of the frizzy haired girl widened.

"What happened?" she gasped. "Is he going to be okay?"

"I'm not sure," I sighed, angry at myself for not knowing. "I asked him what happened and he said 'crazy ex- boyfriend, I guess,' and passed out."

"Ricardo," she cursed. "I can't believe he would do that!"

"Who's Ricardo?" she sighed and grabbed my arm, leading me to a set of chairs.

"Come on, we should exchange stories."

By the time the we were done telling each other what we knew I was nearly shaking with hatred and contempt for a man I had never even met. I was about to open my mouth to tell the seven sitting next to me exactly what I thought of Ricardo when a doctor came out of the double doors at the other side of the room and everyone fell silent.

"Nico Di Angelo?" she asked, glancing down at a clipboard. We jumped up, speed walking to the other side of the room.

"W- will he be okay?" Frank asked, his worry for his friend overtaking his nervousness.

"The bullet hit him in one of the most vital points of his stomach, but luckily we were able to save him." I let out an audible sigh of relief, the worry pouring out of me in waves. "If you had not known to put pressure on the wound, however, he would have died." She was looking me directly in the eye and I felt something jump into my throat. If I hadn't been there, Nico would have died. The thought both terrified me and made me slightly proud that I had done something to change someone's life. "He is asleep right now after emergency surgery, but you may see him, if you like."

We followed the doctor, who introduced herself as Kayla, down the somber halls of the ICU. Someone was sobbing in a room on the right, and I was thankful that wasn't us. We stopped at the last room on the left and Kayla pushed the door open to reveal Nico sound asleep in an uncomfortable looking hospital bed, an IV in his left arm. He was breathing normally and a white cotton hospital gown encased his thin frame. He had regained a small bit of his color but he was still incredibly pale, although maybe that was just how he normally was. I sunk down against his bed, letting the others take the small uncomfortable chairs. I wanted to properly meet Nico when he woke up, and I was going to stay there until he did.

It was five hours later when he shifted in bed, rolling over to face me and blinking open his eyes. His eyebrows crinkled when he saw me.

"I think I've seen you before, but I can't remember where," he mused, scrutinizing me. I lept up, brushing flecks of dirt off of my sweatpants. I hadn't had time to change before coming here, and I wanted to look slightly presentable.

"Hi," I introduced myself, holding out my hand. "I'm Will, and I'm the one who saved your life." Nico sat up, regarding me thoughtfully.

"You know, I think you're going to end up being one of the most important people of my life," he decided.

"You just met me, shouldn't you know me a little better before deciding that?" I chuckled.

"Well you just saved my life so there isn't really anything else you need to do, is there?" he shrugged.

"Well, Nico, I just met you, but I don't think I'll mind having you in my life, either."

Hi guys! I know the ending was super super rushed but please forgive me. Also this was 2.6k words, so I hope you appreciate that. I think next week I might do a beauty and the beast one if you want me to continue the disney princess theme, so let me know if you do down in the comments!
