Nine | Katie

    I wrote this a million years ago as a Percabeth Headcanon and I hate it but aye! Why not, right?

    Katie lay back against the edge of the table, an amused expression set to her face as she waited for 'Solangelo' to be done talking. (Travis liked to call them that, and it was starting to rub off on her)

    It was a wonder the two of them hadn't noticed; it was perfectly easy to see. Just how much they liked each other. You could see it in the way Nico's face scrunched up, or how Will practically stumbled over his words. While it was completely adorable to watch, it was also entirely frustrating. I mean, they had known each other for four years. You'd think one of them would have made a move by now. Katie sighed, playing with her hair, and removed her gaze from the two of them. Maybe it was because of that whole 'watched pot never boils' thing, or maybe she just hadn't realized they were almost done talking, but it seemed like only seconds before Solace's muddy converse appeared in her line of vision. Katie glanced up to see Will wearing the biggest, stupidest grin he had ever seen. Oh my gods, it couldn't be more obvious that he liked Nico. And from the look on her face Katie got a few questions.

    "What? Did you finally do something?" she asked.

    "About what?" replied an oblivious Will, "Did something happen?"

    "Dude, no, about Nico."

    Will's tan cheeks instantly darkened two shades. "I, uh, about ~?"

    "Come on, it's no riddle that you're into him."

    "What? I don't - she - NO!" he spluttered, pitch jumping a few octaves.

    Katie just laughed,  enjoying the pure panic in her friend's voice.

    "No!" Will repeated, voice starting to feel meek. Oh, man, and Katie thought he was red before.

    "Dude," she wheezed, "you're totally -" Then, right out of the blue, Nico's voice sounded from their right.

    "No, what?"
