It was Winter (let's just ignore the fact that most people only stay in camp for the summer.), and today was one of the few days that there was snow. I was excited, but most people were miserable because they don't have warm clothes. I had bought a fuzzy coat for myself but even then I felt like I was freezing. I knew anyone without a coat would hate it.

Lou Ellen and Cecil were having a snowball fight. I supplied them with snowballs, not in the mood to get ice hurled at me.

I noticed not many people were outside. Once again I guessed it was from the cold.

"Hey Will!" Cecil suddenly stopped throwing snowballs. "Look!" He pointed to the Hades cabin. I glanced over and then looked back at Cecil. Nico was just exiting his cabin. It was really nothing special. He did that every day to come eat, and if he didn't then I would come over and make him.

"What?"

"Nico! He's leaving his cabin! And he doesn't have a coat! You can give him yours and then flirt for a bit and ask him out."

"He'd never say yes."

"Well you could at least flirt with him." Lou Ellen said. "Don't throw away your shot at this, Will." (Hamilton reference? Anyone, anyone?)

"But...."

"Go!" Cecil pushed me towards him and Nico looked up. Great, there's no backing out now. I sent a glare at Cecil and then put on my best smile and approached Nico.

"Hi Nico!"

"What do you want? It's freezing out here."

"I just saw you didn't have a coat and thought that, you know, you might want mine?"

Nico blinked. "It's alright, I don't need that."

I started to take it off when a large gust of wind made Nico stumble into me.

"S-sorry..." his teeth chattered.

"It's alright. Here, take this okay?" I took off my coat.

"Y-You're a child of A-Apollo. Y-You need t-to stay warm..."

"Well I'm not putting it back on. If you're going to suffer then we will suffer together."

The wind died down again. "Oh my gods Will just put it on. L-Look, you're already shivering."

I put the coat on his shoulders and wrapped it around him. He didn't push it away but also didn't hold onto it.

He leaned against me and I wrapped an arm around him. "I hate the days they let snow in." He said.

I smiled as we started walking. I'd get a chance to talk to him today.

"I kind of like them. Sometimes."

Then I realized this could be my only chance. My heart started beating faster. I had to ask him out. I could not mess this up. Not very many people have gotten close to Nico, and if they mess up, it's over. They don't get a second chance. They've shattered Nico's trust with them.

I started to feel sick. I was sure I would mess something up somehow.

"How could you like them?"

"Sometimes they give me opportunities that I would've never gotten on any other day."

He stopped walking. "What do you mean?"

"I-I mean snowball fights. We could never have those when it's warm." I started to ramble nervously but I stopped myself. Don't mess this up.

"Oh. Yeah. That makes sense."

I took a deep breath. What was I doing? I needed to just ask him out already. "And it also gives me the chance to ask you something..."

"What is it?" He pressed himself closer to me as another gust of wind made us both colder. He seemed almost hopeful, but I couldn't be sure.

"Nico... will you go out with me?"

He smiled, which made me blush a little bit. As many times as I would make him smile, I would never get over how cute it was.

"Of course, Will."

I tackled Nico in a hug. He laughed and hugged me back. "I love you, Will."

"I love you more."
