CHAPTER THIRTEEN: The Cloaked Figure In Action
After he had filled in the other half-bloods about his little conversation, Nico left the abandoned classroom to find none other than Harry, Ron and, of course, Hermione pressed up against the door. The had been trying to listen in, clearly, so it was a good thing they had been talking in Greek as a precaution.
"Can we help you?" He smirked as they had to decency to look embarrassed and awkwardly avoid his gaze.
Eventually, Hermione broke the silence "What happened yesterday when you went looking for Sirius Black? Did you find him?"
Nico had previously discussed with the others about whether or not they could trust their friendly stalkers to help them and, in doing so, keep their little secret. He agreed they needed help and the golden trio had survived two school years already so they seemed able to take care of each other
"Yes." Nico left it at that.
Sure, they could be trusted but he was supposed to be protecting them just as the oracle had decreed. The demigod life was far from safe and they had enough difficulty keeping themselves alive as it was. As Nico strode towards the boys' toilets he heard the three students gasp behind him, probably speculating how he was still alive.
He smiled at the thought, let them wonder.

Nico finished washing his hand and dried them on the paper towelettes. He was about to leave when he heard a whimper from the end stall. The pipes around him rattled slightly and the cubicle door slammed open to let a ghost fly out.
She was wearing an outdated Hogwarts uniform, her hair was neatly tied on the sides of her head in long pigtails and her square glasses took up most of her face. She was startled at her shocked company who's scrunched paper towel dropped onto the tiled floor.
"What are you doing here? No boys are allowed in the girls' toilets!" She screeched and stamped her foot onto the floor. She had a nasty temper.
"I think you'll find you have the wrong room." Nico picked up the paper towel and tossed it into the bin.
"And who do you think you are anyway?" She pouted, trying to hide her embarrassment by changing the subject.
"Nico Di Angelo," He smirked as the girls' jaw dropped "And you, spirit, are lucky my father hasn't found you."
"Please, sir, I'll do anything, just don't send me to hell!" She stammered and pleaded with him.
"I won't say anything to Hades, that is if you come to me the moment you spot something out of the ordinary." He bargained, surprising her at the fairness of his deal.
"Would a cloaked figure walking out of the turrets the other day count as out of the ordinary?" She frowned, deep in thought trying to recall what she had seen.
"Yes."
"Oh."

They lifted their hood, casting a dark shadow down their face, which completely obscured their facial features, and continued to walk through the forest. The stray dog continued to scamper with them after they had stopped to pet him, he seemed determined to keep up with their stride. They didn't mind, they had always had a soft spot for dogs, though they leaned more towards their favorite breed: Hell-Hounds.
A mischievous smile spread to their face as they raised their arms to open the portal. Their body was encased in a dark red glow, faintly reminding Sirius of something that he couldn't quite place, and the cloak billowed out behind them from the sudden wind.
The ground split open, forcing Sirius to hide behind a stump a safe distance, away from the unusual magic taking place. He watched as the creatures he'd seen so many time before claw their way out of the ground, this time with a new monster at the front as their leader.
Her hair was a fiery red, she was dressed in a dirty mortal cheerleader uniform but perhaps the strangest thing about her was her legs. One was furry and resembled the leg of a horse while the other was a bronze-like metal.
She grinned at the cloaked figure, seeing through the shadows and remembering the look in their eyes. Normally, she would have been terrified to see that look, but now they were on the same side. A rather unexpected turn of morals, if they had even had any in the first place.
"M'Lord, I had heard of your change in heart but I didn't believe it until now. It's good to see you alongside us." Her smile widened even more and she lowered into a deep bow. The last thing she wanted was to disrespect her new company.
"Do you pledge your allegiance to me?" The figures voice was strange. It sounded like two voices combined, one that was deep and the empusa recognized but a higher-pitched voice was buried underneath.
"I'd do anything to cause a little more chaos," She batted her eyelashes "Of course I pledge my allegiance, M'Lord."
Sirius got out of there immediately and ran away from the scene as fast as his paws would let him.

Okay, okay, okay, I swear I didn't almost forget to- nope, that's a lie, I completely almost forgot to update this. I remembered to this morning but I had to finish the art and do work.
I'll probably end up replacing the art, it isn't my best, but also isn't my worst.
By the way, since this is very last minute, I didn't have a chance to do any final edits. I'm going to pass out if I don't go to sleep soon.
Bye, I'll see you all next Friday!
