"Laksh?" I called out waiting for him to emerge from the bushes.

"I am here." He said frowing and glaring at me angrily.

You know, I am seriously thinking of renaming him to Rude-y. Perfect name for the behaviour he shows.

"Come," he whispers as brushes past me, making ny breathing pause.

I will die. This man is making me angry yet go weak at the same time.

No denying he is effing hot, but him neing rude towards me makes me wonder that does he really want me as a mate?

Mates are supposed to be, you know like loving? Caring? But he is only rude and possessive.

Thats it. I am confused. My heart, can't ignore the fact that he is my mate, and so does my wolf.

Kiss him. Love him. Mate.

What can I say? She doesn't understand what I am going through, I didn't get my mate all lovey dovey like she did get hers.

God I sound so jealous of my own self, but nah I ain't jealous, I am confused.

Irritated I guess.

Not towards him, but on me. How the effing can I start feeling for someone in just a mere few days?

I wasn't that weak! And this guy hasn't even done something that could swell my heart, to make me like him.

Only acted possessive.

"Earth to you!" I heard a voice which made me stumble and hit someone's back.

"Oww!" I cried as I rubbed my nose.

"What are you twelve? Can't you walk properly?" He asked me as I rolled my eyes.

"I live here with my mom and dad. And my sister, who currently is in the city."

"Oh." I said scared. I am going to meet the ex-Alpha of the second pack of India.

"You are scared." He commented before he rang the doorbell.

"Nah never."

"Okay," he said smiling.

Wait he even smiles?

I rubbed my eyes.

"Dramatic." He taunted as the door opened.

"Laksh! Where's my to be daughter-in-law?" I heard a woman's voice.

Too direct as I felt my cheeks heating up.

"There she is, you get off my way, let me meet her." She said as she seriously pushed Laksh away.

And tackled me into a deep hug. It felt so comforting, like a mother's. Parul Ma's hugs.

I don't even remember hugging my ma.

I was too young to remember.

"Ragini right?" She asked as she looked worried for getting my name wrong.

"Yes," I smiled warmly at her and she relaxed.

"Come naa!! Its your house also from now." She said as she pulled me inside.

"I am your son too?" I heard Laksh whining as he entered the house too.

"I am pretty sure he didn't tell you my name?"

And I nodded.

"Idiot." She commented under her breath.

"Annapoorna. But family calls me Anu, but you can call me, Ma, only if you like?" She said as she tensed.

I smiled at her and repeated," Ma."

"I have two daughters, yipee!" She said causing me to chuckle.

I heard chuckling from two more people.

Laksh and a man, whom I guessed was his father.

"Laksh, go clean your mess. Ragini and you are staying here until Monday."

"But-" he tried to deny but Ma shot him a 'you better not fight with me' look.

"Okay," he said as he ran upstairs.

So Mr. Rude is scared of Ma. Good.

His dad too sat on the sofa seat and smiled warmly at me. I did too.

"I don't need an introduction, hopefully. I am that idiot's dad. Durgaprasad, and your Ma," he said pointing at Ma," Ma's husband. So technically your papa." I smiled at his introduction.

Like father like son.

"Ji, papa." I said as Ma squealed.

"You have no idea beta, how much I was waiting for Laksh to find his mate! Finally!! And my my he is a lucky one," she said winking.

I blushed a little as I felt home.

It felt so good. Not that my house didn't but I never thought I would receive this kind of love from my mate's family as well.

True it is said, when Moon Goddess takes one thing from you she gives other five to you.

"So Ragu tell me about yourself!" Ma said as she looked at me curiously.

"My full name is Ragini Sharma, the Beta of The Indianna pack." I said proudly.

"A Beta?" Papa asked, he almost sounded proud.

"Your son now has someone who would challenge him. Perfect." He said to Ma who nodded smiling.

"Your parents?"

I gulped but continued. The topic of my parents was something I was used to know. I have grown alone, no regrets.

"They died, when I was five." I tell them genuinely as they pass a sad smile, a comforting one.

It was breakfast time now, we had spent the last two hours talking. Ma told me about Laksh's childhood.

He is a khadoos since he was a child.

"Ma, have you seen any black she-wolves?" Laksh asked curiously as he glanced at me.

I smiled at him which he didn't return but that glow in his eyes, which I kind of deciphered but in my own terms.

I didn't know what I thought was right, but he looked proud.

Laksh's statement had almost made Ma, silent. I looked at her in confusion as she and papa exchanged a scared glance.

"Uhm..y- No." She answered carefully.

"Why?" Papa asked almost angry.

"Cause Ragini is one."

And that statement made them look at me in shock. I curiously looked at them, not knowing what made them so shock?

Were the angry?

And then atlast,

What confused me the most,

They genuinely smiled.
