Chapter 5- Fitz's POV

It was easy to move on. Now, that I realized, I saw a lot of signs that our relationship wasn't going to work out. I wasn't mad at anyone, not really. I just wish Sophie would stop ignoring all my hails, so I decided to visit her. I looked in the mirror and looked okay, so I ran my hands through my hair nervously and leapt to Havenfield. Edaline greeted me with a smile and said, "Sophie! Get down, I'm guessing Fitz has a gift for you. Again."

I cringed and she noticed.

"Is everything okay between you two?" she asked.

"We...broke up," I mumbled. "What?! Sophie Elizabeth Foster, get down this instant. You need to tell me things that cause you pain, you know?" screamed Edaline.

Sophie came down the stairs slowly, grumbling. She was totally red in the face so I said, "Edaline, don't blame her."

She gave me a grateful grin and I returned one. Edaline sighed and gave Sophie a look.

"Can we talk somewhere a bit more private?" I whispered to Sophie, glancing at Edaline. She nodded, and her eyes dripped with pity. We returned to her room which was scattered with roses and a lot of food. I looked at her inquiringly and she sighed. "Keefe is coming over in an hour," she said, looking away. I nodded and said, "I'm happy for the two of you. Keefe deserves someone who loves him."

She smiled and said, "Thank you! Now, what did you want to talk about?"

"Um...I was wondering whether we could still be friends since we've both moved on so quickly?" I asked in a whisper. She just threw her arms around me and said, "Of course!"

I beamed at her and she smiled back. "Ok, well, I should get everything ready. I haven't told Mom or Dad yet so um, let's hope we don't have to make it official in front of my parents yet," she whisper-shouted. I laughed and said, "Or his. Not that we're seeing Lady Gisela anytime soon."

Sophie nodded and said, "Ok. Well, bye!"

I grinned and leapt away to Everglen.
