Softeye and the whole clan was mourning, Venomstrike and Heartskip had died in the night.

"I have sad news to report." The ceremony had went. "Venomstrike and Heartskip have gone to StarClan."

The clan had shuddered at Heartskip's name, it was the name she'd given herself, due to Fernstar being ill, but she was Fernlight then, a deputy. Fernstar straightened herself. "But we also have good news, my son's ceremony!" 'Oh great, now I have to watch,' she turned to Harekit and Leafpool's words rang in her ears. 'Soon my love,' she thought. Softeye's attention was drawn back to the ceremony and her obnoxious cousin. Fernstar smiled down at Harekit and Softeye. "Today my son, Flykit, is becoming an apprentice!" A few 'yays' sounded from the crowd they were to intent on Softeye and Harekit. Fernstar slammed her tail on the ledge. "May I have your attention please!" The clan turned their heads to face her. "Flykit you are now Flypaw your mentor will be...." She quickly scanned the clan,"Lilacleaf!" The small senior warrior nodded and went to Flypaw to touch noses. "I'm going out."

"Where?"

"Just out."

"Just out where?"

"Shut up, Onyxleaf."

Onyxleaf looked taken aback

"Well ok," said Onyxleaf

Softeye flicked her tail

"Well, bye."

Softeye walked into the forest stalking a massive bird.

'Wow what a treat for the clan to end Leaf-Bare off!'

This bird was truly massive, a little to massive. This bird had claws sharper then any bird she had seen. It was a hawk, before she knew it she was fighting for her life. She screeched as the hawk clawed her then, half blinded, she ripped at the hawk's belly, it let out a horrid screech, the world went black.....

"...here she is...." It was Oynxleaf!

"...what happen...Ed..." Jaybird?

"...a heard a screech.....found her..."

"Then you got me..." Their speech was broken

Softeye awoke in Jaybird's den, the hawk was still in her claws only limp and not moving. 'I killed it,' she thought.

"Oww..."

"Someone's awake," came a low voice," I'm getting Onyxleaf, she was worried sick, you know." Dark blue gray fur moved in front of her, Jaybird's ice blue eyes scanned her pelt for something then left. Shapes moved at the end of the den Harekit and his sisters had come to visit. "That was really brave of you," he said and Specklekit giggled. "You better get well soon, our apprentice ceremony is soon." He turned to Specklekit and Honeykit,"Leave please." When they left he said," and I want to be your apprentice, too." 'Was that a blush?' As soon as the kits left, the black shape of Oynxleaf appeared. "Oh Softeye!" She wailed,"I'm so glad!" Onyxleaf then lay next to her best friend. "You tackled that hawk all by yourself! The whole clan know about it! That is the hawk whom caused Redkit's death! You avenged him!" The whole clan had spent 3 days mourning Onyxleaf's brother, Redkit.
