"Windfoot, Weedwhisker, Tawnyfeather, Blizzardstream and myself will scout out the area to make sure the snake has gone before the gathering," Softstar called out. Flinching, Softstar caught a chilling breeze. Flashes of Fernstar's death shot through her causing her to sit down. 'I have to do this now I have to forget last Leafbare,' she scolded herself. If she let that get through her she wouldn't be able to fulfill her duties as leader, she couldn't let that happen. "Softstar?" Tawnyfeather asked standing close to Blizzardstream. "Yes I'm alright let's go." The patrol moved out and moved to the area where the snake had been sighted. They found its den within an hour. "How'd you suppose we get rid of it?" The tawny she cat asked. Softstar looked at Tawnyfeather and back to hole. "The only thing we can do now is block it up." Blizzardstream opened his mouth to protest but Softstar silenced him with a flick of her tail. "Softstar!" Softstar's eyes widened as the brown tabby leapt at her, she barely ducked causing Beechstar to go pummeling into a tree. "If you're very much done slapping me in the face with trees," he growled in the usual growl when war was near,"DarkClan and FlyClan have been plotting again, the second war is near." Beechstar turned tail and hopped back to his clan. Softstar rolled her eyes Beechstar was battle hungry but he controlled his desire. He was a good leader. Softstar led the patrol back to camp. Softstar overheard Tawnyfeather say to Blizzardstream,"Want to..Hunt together?" Blizzardstream nodded and they left camp. Softstar went to the nursery and saw the mystery queen was pale grey. Vineheart was glaring again at her kits causing Softstar to worry. What if her kits were born in Leafbare? Softstar hoped they weren't but you can't change nature.
