Miracle--- 17

:) Here it is! I didn't die, surprise!

TW: Ferris wheel. (idk if it is a trigger, but some people find it scary.)

Patton's POV:

Patton looked out at the happy crowd.

They had enjoyed the last couple of songs, and seemed to be eager for the last one. Patton looked over the chords in the yellowish light once again. This had to be perfect. F major, C major, D minor, F minor.

He repeated the chords in his head as he caught Logan's eye. Logan beamed at him softly and Patton couldn't help but smile back.

The sky was already dark. Remus had come to the concert at some point, apparently he had been off getting a sugar rush. The fairy lights shone even brighter, and the people sitting down seemed genuinely happy with the music. In fact, some were even singing along. Patton ran a hand through his curly light hair and examined his guitar. It still looked as amazing as ever.

"Last song, guys. This is the new one," He told everyone.

The crowd murmured happily and Patton took another deep breath.

"Did it hurt when you fell?

Came from heaven,

Went through hell.

Now it's already done,

Flown too close,

You've hit the sun.

Lie lie lie lie lie lie lie...

Cry cry cry cry cry cry cry.

My shoulder.."

Patton looked up from his guitar for a moment at Logan. Logan was smiling sadly with sparkling burnt umber eyes that Patton could only describe as angelic.

"A miracle.

The purest thing to ever fall,

A miracle.

Don't say a word, no not at all.

lie lie lie lie lie lie lie...

Cry cry cry cry cry cry cry."

The song continued and Patton kept his eyes on Logan. Janus's drums softened a little bit and the guitar played more in the second verse.

"If your wings betray,

Fly you off and

far away

I would never know

I already

Thought you'd go.

Lie lie lie lie lie lie lie,

Cry cry cry cry cry cry cry.

My shoulder..."

"A miracle,

The purest thing to ever fall

A miracle,

Don't say a word no, not at all.

A miracle,

The purest thing to ever fall

A miracle,

Don't say a word, no, not at all."

Patton finished the last lyric with a flourish, going through the chord sequence one more time before the song ended. The crowd erupted into applause and Logan grinned from the front row.

Patton gave them a big smile and a wink. "That is all we have for you, have a great rest of your night!" He packed up his guitar in his case and climbed off the stage, rushing to Logan. Logan stood up and for the first time in a while, was the one to throw his arms around Patton first.

Patton swears to this day that you never know the feeling of true safety until you have been held by Logan. It's like he's shielding you from the whole world and you can cuddle up into his arms and feel happy forever.

"Thank you," He mumbled into Patton's collarbone. Patton fit perfectly into his embrace and it was obvious to the people watching they should leave them be for a bit. Patton returned the hug and beamed softly to himself.

"I love you."

"I love you more."

The lights were much more vivid at this time, the sun had gone down and some of the families that had come went home. The carnival was now mostly filled with teenagers and adults with nothing better to do. Logan and Patton waited in line for the Ferris wheel. It was a short line, and they were going on next.

The night sky was filled to the brim with stars, specks of light poking through a large ebony cloth. The moon was up as well, looming over the carnival like a quartz gem.

Patton's hand intertwined with Logan's as they waited, and a little blush dusted Patton's cheeks as he stared down the line.

Logan spoke. "How long did you spend on that song?"

Patton shifted his feet and grinned sheepishly. "I started writing it the night after you told me. I just wanted to do something nice for you, I mean, you trusted me with information like that and I didn't want you to feel like I was against you in any way..." he looked over and found Logan tearing up. Patton quickly held him close and whispered small reassurances.

Logan muttered, "Do you have to be so beautiful all the time?"

It was eventually their turn to go on the Ferris wheel. When Logan thought Patton wasn't looking, he slipped a few bucks to the person running the wheel and whispered something in his ear. The guy smirked a little and nodded.

Patton giggled. Logan was just really bad at hiding things.

They got strapped into the cab, (the seats are called cabs) and after a little bit were slowly lifted up.

As he went up, Patton could see the whole carnival. He could see the roof of every stall, every ride, every game. He was pretty sure he could see Janus and Remus by the lemonade stand, looking adorable like they always did. Oh, and there was Roman and Virgil by the caramel apple stand. Roman must have made it up to him after all. Was that Emile and Remy next to the hammer game? Aww, Remy will never be able to hit that spike. Oops, never-mind, he broke it.

Patton sighed and leaned on Logan. "It's so pretty. I'm so glad I moved here, this town is so great and it already feels like home."

Logan tucked Patton's hair behind his ear and kissed him gently. "I'm glad you moved here too."

Logan shifted away for one moment and pulled his phone out of his pocket. "I um... I made something for you."

Patton smiled a little. They had come to the very top of the Ferris wheel. "What is it?"

The wheel had stopped and a few people had started chatting with the person next to them. That ended quickly when Logan pressed play on the music recording. He started to sing quietly.

"Hold on my lover,

we'll be there pretty soon

Give me one more chance

To tell you I love you

No homophobic

Could convince me

I love who I love and I love you

Unconditionally.

If it were up to me,

I'd give you the moon

But I don't have the power

Don't have the money, I have the love

Even when it's not sunny."

Logan was by no means a talented singer, but that didn't stop the song from being the most beautiful thing Patton had heard in his entire life.

Patton felt his heart swell and he beamed. "Logan, did you write that?"

"Yeah, I know it's messy, but I just-"

Patton cut him off by practically tackling him and kissing him right there in the cab, at the top of the Ferris wheel. The other people on the wheel had seen what happened and cheered for them, clapping and whistling.

Patton had never felt more elated in his life. Logan had written a SONG! For HIM! Patton buried his face in Logan's shirt and laughed. "That was so beautiful! YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL! Oh my goodness, Logan!"

They stayed like that, holding each other until the Ferris wheel came down again.

"I paid the guy running the wheel to keep us at the top for a bit longer," Logan said.

Patton didn't say anything, he just latched onto Logan as they got off, grinning like a lovesick maniac.

This was it, everyone. This is the last chapter. Yes, you heard me right. I WILL write an epilogue, so look out for that, but still.

The song Patton sang at the show is called Miracle by me, and the song Logan sang on the Ferris wheel was When it's not Sunny, also by me. I WILL MAKE VIDEOS FOR THEM I PROMISE!!!
