Chapter 33

Jin sighs as he puts the phone down. He's glad Taehyung called him, he saw the younger storm out of their café yesterday, fuming with anger. Jin had been confused and went inside only to find Jungkook totally passed out by the desk. To say Jin freaked out is an understatement.

He was doing everything he could to wake Jungkook up, but nothing worked so in the end he just called an ambulance.

Jungkook has been sleeping for about 10 hours now, so it won't be long before he wakes up. His rut is still going, but it's less aggressive, so Jungkook probably won't attack the first omega he sees when he gets up. It will be very painful for him though...

Jin looks over at his son and gently grabs his hand. He runs his thumb over the skin and feels his chest tighten uncomfortably. He should have seen the signs, Jungkook was on the edge of something like this happening... still he begged Jin to let him continue working, probably in order to get his mind off things.

A lot have been happening in Jungkook's life lately, it probably took him by storm. Therefore, seeing Taehyung being mad at him was probably enough to make it all crumble.

However, Taehyung seems to be regretting it deeply. Jin hopes Taehyung will start seeing Jungkook in a different light... for more than just a pure-blood and a mate.

For being the amazing person that he is.

After a few minutes of Jin just staring at the raven, he finally gets up and leaves the room. But only after having placed a gentle kiss on Jungkook's forehead.

He wants to talk with Taehyung in person, but getting him too close to Jungkook is dangerous and it would probably make Taehyung go into heat. They would be forced to do something their relationship isn't ready for yet.

With that thought he leaves the room and heads down to the cafeteria.

Taehyung arrives about half an hour later, clearly uncomfortable being in the hospital. He's longing to be with Jungkook more than anything, but he just can't right now and that's hurting him.

"Hey Tae," Jin says and allows the younger to hug him.

"Hi," Taehyung replies with a hoarse voice.

"Let's sit down, okay?" Jin offers and they do just that. They order a few drinks and some snacks to eat to make it a little more comfortable for them.

"How is he?" the younger questions hesitantly. He's glad Jin even let him come he so they could talk a little. Clearly, he has broken some trust between himself and this family. He's determined on fixing it again though.

"He's sleeping, for now. But he'll be okay," Jin assures him.

Taehyung nods and looks down at his folded hands. He feels like a fucking asshole to be exact and he doesn't know how to deal with it.

"Jin I-... What I did and said I-..." he stutters. He can't even get a right sentence out.

"Tae, whatever it is that you're holding in is not something you have to tell me," Jin says gently, "I know you will learn from your mistakes. Jungkook will too."

He doesn't exactly know what happened between them, but it isn't very hard to figure out, considering that they didn't talk together in weeks before it all happened.

"I know it's just... I feel really terrible about it. I said a lot of things and Jungkook didn't deserve that. I just want to tell him how sorry I am," Taehyung explains.

"And you will, don't worry. I'm sure Jungkook has a lot to tell you too. Now he might be able to right now, he can't really run away when he's here," Jin states fondly, shaking his head.

Dealing with Jungkook's escape techniques for soon 9 years gives Jin quite the knowledge on when and where Jungkook will most likely run away. But for some reason, he doesn't think Jungkook will run away next time.

"I hope so... I really want to evolve with him but... different this time... I want to know everything about him, I want to be his friend before anything else," Taehyung says with a determined tone. Jin smiles at that and gives the younger a satisfied nod.

"If that's the case, I'm sure everything turns out just perfect."

______

Jungkook woke up in the evening that day. Taehyung had already left hours ago and Jin suggested it was best he stayed out until Jungkook's rut is completely over.

It will probably take a day or two, so the hospital decided to let Jungkook stay in bed there for a week to make sure he won't pass out again and is completely back on track.

Jungkook woke up completely confused and out of it, but Jin got him to calm down quickly. Jungkook isn't horny anymore, he's just in pain so even having Jin too close can add to his pain.

So Jungkook has been lying alone most of the time, just staring into the ceiling. He feels hot yet he's so weakened he can't even think about doing anything about it.

He just ate some food that one of the alpha nurses got for him. Alphas shouldn't be too close to Jungkook either doing his rut, the pure-blood might feel threatened and will start attacking innocent alphas. But sending unknown omegas in here is way worse.

Considering they have a mate now, Jeon won't shut up about Taehyung. The elder keeps running around in their mind and Jungkook can't decide if he loves it or hates it.

They left on a bad note and Jungkook has been feeling the pain of his mate in his chest. The raven is glad he has become so good at hiding himself that he hasn't been causing Taehyung too much pain doing the time they didn't talk.

Jungkook sighs, getting bored with staring at the ceiling, so he starts looking out of the window. That gets pretty boring too, so he ends up look at the tv that's running without sound.

Suddenly, the door to the room opens and Jungkook is just about to sigh if it's his worried father who has once again come to check on him. However, it's a completely different smell that hits his nostrils and in confusion he looks over at a familiar face.

Yoongi steps inside and closes the door gently behind him, walking towards his friend.

"Hey Jungkook," he says. He sits down on one of the chairs that's placed next to the bed.

"Y-Yoongi? What are you doing here?" Jungkook asks.

"Since I'm a beta, I thought you would be more comfortable with me around then the others, I know you're in a lot of pain," he states.

Jungkook nods and looks down at his hands that a resting above the duvet. He's having a drop in his arm and a bandage on one hand because he apparently landed badly when passing out. He doesn't think the nurses have noticed he has already healed days ago.

"T-Thanks... but why...?"

Jungkook definitely wouldn't think Yoongi would visit him doing these times, he barely knows if he can call them friends.

"Don't know. Maybe because Taehyung has been freaking out and it has been affecting all of us... and we didn't want you to feel lonely," he mumbles out. Jungkook nods, that seems like a fair reason to be here. He's glad they are thinking about him though.

"I'm sorry... I probably caused a lot of trouble, didn't I?" Jungkook asks, mostly indicating what he did to Taehyung.

"I wouldn't say trouble, more like worry," Yoongi replies.

"I'm sorry," Jungkook repeats.

"It's fine, don't worry about it," the elder brushes it off before he folds his hands and looks deeply at Jungkook, "so... what happened?"

Yeah, what happened? Jungkook feels like it's going to be impossible for him to explain. Still, he slowly starts explaining how he was feeling after the trip and how his mental health was starting to go wild for the worse. He also tells about the fight between him and Taehyung, letting everything he has been holding in his chest free.

He doesn't know why he feels so comfortable talking with Yoongi about it, but somehow the elder is really easy to talk to and he seems to be a good listener. Also, he's the most natural rank, so he can't really get offended if Jungkook were to accidently say something rude about omegas or alphas.

Yoongi just sits and nods every time Jungkook explains parts of the incidents, really listening to what Jungkook has to say. He wants to learn and be helpful for Jungkook since they seem to be a lot alike, however he would never say that out loud.

"I guess... my body was just done with it all... it's hard to understand why I have to be treated this way," Jungkook sighs and closes his eyes for a second. He really doesn't know what he did to deserve such treatment.

The one thing he can't change is what he's hated for.

[Warning: talk about racism]

"Because your kind was the oppressor," Yoongi states blankly.

"Oppressor? What does that mean?" the raven asks. He feels like he has heard the term before, but he can't remember at all what's the real meaning behind it.

"Have you ever learned about racism in school? Like, in the 'human world'?" Yoongi questions and Jungkook slightly nods. They don't learn much about the humans in school, but since they are partly human themselves they can't just ignore it completely.

"Well, for them is it about things like skin color, ethnicity or a minority of a group. Just like us, some are being discriminated for something they can't do anything about. However, in your case it's a little different," Yoongi begins, "you're not the one that was oppressed... you were actually the kind to opress others. For us, it's often seen between the ranks. For humans, it's between those groups instead."

Jungkook tilts his head slightly. He knows pure-bloods back in the day were strong and amazing leaders, but back then it was also okay to treat omegas like absolutely trash. It wasn't a good time.

"An example to compare your situation too could be that some people with certain ethnicity will most likely be seen as racist simply because their ancestors were, you will be seen as a beast no matter how long ago your rank really were beasts," Yoongi explains, "but there's still a lot of discrimination against omegas today and also people of certain skin colors or culturs in the human race which is absolutely terrible. It doesn't surprise me that there are stereotypes both ways."

"But... I would never threat an omega badly... not on purpose at least," Jungkook says.

"I know you won't, but other true-bloods and alphas might will. That's why you will always be seen as a dangerous beast, purely because that's what your kind once were. You just got to live with that, just like omegas have to unfairly fight for their rights all the time. It's not fair for them either you know? They are struggling a lot more, no offence," Yoongi says.

Jungkook nods. He agrees, omegas have been oppressed and treated like slaves for so many years that he doesn't have the right to say he's struggling. Sure, he hates it when people are scared of him or think he's going to kill them on sight, but his wolf doesn't belong to a certain time. His wolf will forever be a beast, no matter how much he tries to change it.

However, compared to other possible true-bloods, Jungkook tries to change it as much as he can. Even if it simply means he can make his friends or mate more comfortable around him, he's okay with that.

"I guess you're right," Jungkook says.

"No matter what rank we are in or what ethnicity the humans have, there are stereotypes and people who live up to these stereotypes for all ranks or racial groups, it's probably going to stay like that for a long time unfortunately," Yoongi sighs, "many are brainwashed into thinking certain things about others who are slightly different from them because they are raised in a culture or family that wants it that way. Not all people are bad because they want to be, they are like that because it's everything they have been taught through life. Just like Suho probably is."

Jungkook shivers from the mare mention of that boy's name. He hates Suho more than anyone on this planet, but he wouldn't be surprise if there was a certain reason behind Suho's hatred. Sure, it's probably because Jungkook showed his 'true colors' and hurt Suho's beta friend back then, but there must be more behind it, considering he was bullied way before that.

"But you're not living up to those stereotypes, not your human side at least. One day, you are going to accept that and will start looking at your life differently. You can't go worrying about what others think about you because they are narrowminded or racist. You got to live your life and show kindness to other people, even if they piss you off. That way you show that this has nothing to do with rank, it's simply because all types of people and werewolves can be assholes as well as angels," Yoongi finishes off.

Jungkook stares at the elder. He's so wise. He knows how to form his words so they fit perfectly for Jungkook because this is exactly what Jungkook wanted to hear. Sometimes he's very tempted to just give up and let his pure-blood sides show if that's the only thing other wolves expect from him. But if he does that, he just gives them all the more reason to believe that our world is divided into groups which it shouldn't be.

Kindness should be shown to everyone. Omegas, betas, alphas and pure-bloods. Just like every skin color should be respected fully. It might be hard or maybe even impossible as it is right now, but trying has never hurt anyone, right?

Jungkook must admit he has thought alphas were arrogant assholes, which some of them truly are, but then he met Hoseok. Hoseok is not an asshole, not even close to being one. Therefore, Jungkook should stop hating on alphas simply because Suho is a dick. Just like alphas shouldn't use their alpha voices against omegas because they think they are somehow better than them.

Being educated about such things is important Jungkook has come to learn. He's glad he might be able to change his looks on others, even if they look badly at him. If they want to live a life full of hate, so be it. He's not going to have a life like that. He will fight for those who need to be fought for, the omegas specifically.

"So, I think you should talk it out with Taehyung. He's changing too, he wants to learn more about you. Jimin and Hoseok too, we all want to forget your rank and respect you because you're a good person, Jungkook, just like we expect you do for us," Yoongi states and Jungkook immediately feels his chest warm up in a comfortable way.

He smiles slightly while nodding. He will probably always be seen as a bad person, but he's going to accept that and see people the way he wants to. People who mean something to him will learn who he rightfully is as a person. Only that way, he can become truly happy.

"Thank you."
