Chapter 15
Jungkook is having a bad day. Like a really bad one. He ended up not going home after running away, he didn't have the heart or energy to speak with Jin about it. It's possible the elder stayed up all night waiting for him... that's just one of the reasons why this day is already stigmatized as shitty.
Jungkook still isn't sure why he ran away. Maybe it was because he was so disappointed in himself. He almost let Jeon take over so easily, in front of his father at that. If he had turned, he could have hurt Jin by accident. Why did Suho have to come to the store? What kind of karma is Jungkook paying for?
He sighs as he steps inside school, his body shaking slightly from the cold. He slept out all night on a bench, but it ended up with only a few hours of rest. His body is exhausted and his mood isn't any better. Why does everything have to be so hard for him... he doesn't know what he did wrong to deserve this.
He shakes his head in order to get rid of the thoughts, walking over to his locker. It's lucky he placed all his books in there yesterday or else he would have been going to class without anything today.
Just when he grabs his english textbook, he feels a harsh smack to the back of his head. He yelps and holds a hand there, looking behind him and seeing Suho walking away. He's holding up his middle finger at Jungkook and shoving his tongue. What a displeasing sight.
Jungkook has to move his head and stare into the locker in order to keep his glare down. He doesn't want to deal with Suho right now, not in the slightest. His chest is getting warm from the mare irritation and frustration from the slap to his head, making him take a few deep breaths before closing his locker and heading towards his classroom. He keeps his head low and takes long, fast steps into the room so he can reach his spot as quickly as possible.
He barely gets to sit down before gets a crumbled piece of paper thrown at him. With a deep sigh he takes it and opens it up.
Thanks for yesterday freak, hope to get that father of yours in bed soon ~
Jungkook's teeth plants themselves deeply into his lip as he keeps in the growl that almost escaped his mouth. He feels his heart increase it's speed in pure annoyance as he looks down, his chest getting warmer and warmer. His hands are digging into his thighs as he stares at the note.
He's just doing it to make you mad Jungkook. Calm down. Calm down. Those thoughts keeps repeating themselves again and again inside Jungkook's head.
If he could just rip that peace of shit into pieces, he would do it without hesitation. That's probably mostly Jeon's thoughts taking over.
Jungkook is able to keep himself steady until the teacher arrives and starts the lesson. At least he can try getting distracted that way. Still, he feels so uncomfortable about being in the room. Even if the class is totally quiet and focusing on what the teacher is saying, Jungkook still feels like all eyes are on him. The eyes of every wolf in the room.
The lesson is finally over after way too much struggling in Jungkook's opinion and he fleets from the chair as fast as he can. He's the first to leave the classroom and he immedietly heads for the toilets. He needs to cool his head.
Luckily, it's empty when he arrives so he can without trouble place himself in front of the sink and slash some water to his face. The sensation is amazing and somewhere deep down he just wants to drown himself in it, even though he knows that's not impossible.
He grabs the counter with his hands and stares at his reflection. His eyes are dark with bags underneath, his hair even messier than it usually is and his skin looks unhealtily pale. Sleeping outside clearly doesn't do anything good for your well-being. Not to mention that his clothes is slightly damp, giving it this smell of wet dog. It's straight up disgusting.
It's hard to tell how long he stands in that position, but he only gets up because his stomach roars hungrily. Jungkook didn't get any dinner yesterday and he hasn't brought any food for school obviously. It's a total coincidence that he got some money in his pocket. It isn't much but it's enough to buy a sandwich in the canteen.
Normally, he doesn't dare to go the canteen, there are way to many people for his liking. But his stomach is being a real bitch and not really leaving him any other option. With a huff he lets go it the sink to leave the bathroom.
One the way out, he accidently opens the door a little harshly because of his bad mood and he hits someone on the other side. He gasps and looks behind it, seeing the beta he talked to not many days ago.
Yoongi hisses and he grabs his shoulder. He looks up and fear flashed through his eyes for just a second before his face turns back to its normal cold attire.
"Watch it," he says before walking past Jungkook, not giving him a chance to apologize. The raven stands for a second and looks ahead. Why can't he do anything right? He can't even open a door without hurting anyone.
He takes a deep, shaky breath and leaves the restroom, going towards the cafeteria. He looks down but doesn't really try to step around the people in the hallway, they seem to be doing that themselves perfectly fine.
Jungkook grabs his hoodie and drags it over his hair as he walks into the cafeteria. He hopes no one in particilar will notice him and that he'll be able to escape this horrible place in a hurry. The line to the canteen isn't long, so his anxiety isn't rising as fast as it ususally would. Being in big and loud crowd is just never comfortable.
His foot is tapping against the ground impatiently. When it's finally his turn, he just points at the first sandwich he spots, also making it easier for the omega female behind the desk. With shaking hands, she grabs the food and starts wrapping it for Jungkook to bring along. It's clear to see Jungkook isn't here very often, all the workers are giving him freaked out glanzes.
He tries to pay them no mind as he places the money on the counter. No matter how many times people look at him with fear, the feeling doesn't change in the slightest. Getting used to it doesn't mean it doesn't stap him in the heart when the lady can't even grab the money without almost passing out.
Jungkook looks at her with tired eyes, he doesn't even bother trying to be nice today.
"H-Here's your change," the lady stutters and places the money back on the desk. Jungkook grabs them and shoves them into his pocket without saying 'thank you' and turns around. He's about to storm out of the room when the last person who should be bothering him right now calls his name.
He stops arrubtly only a few meters away from the door, not turning around.
"Jungkookie, are you leaving already?" Suho asks, "I thought we were supposed to bond over our events yesterday." The people around Suho chuckles slightly, throwing small comments to hype him up.
Jungkook doesn't say anything, he just looks at the door with a dark glare. He's fighting so hard to keep his dominant smell down, his body is even shaking in order to do so. Don't let it get to you. Don't listen.
"You know, when everyone say you're monster, they really aren't wrong," Suho says. His voice is light, almost as if he's explaining something to a child. "To be honest, I feel even more sorry about your... mate."
It's almost as if the alpha male is waiting for Jungkook to react. The said boy does flinch at the mention of his mate, it's a very sensitive subject.
"Imagine getting such an amazing mate as you have and then not even being able to speak with him! Talk about pathetic." His small crew of minions laugh at that, some others around the cafeteria doing the same. Jungkook has realized the attention of basically everyone in here is on him.
His anger and his fear is mixing up, making him want to run for that door more than anything.
"Well, I guess when he's mated with you, he'll become a... slut, just like your father."
That's it.
People doesn't even get to blink before the agonizing sound of clothes ripping and bones twisting accures around them. The smell that gets emitted into the room is enough for some omegas to double over and fall to the ground, even betas and alphas feel their genes scream in submission. The shifting happens so fast it's like Jungkook was never human in the first place.
Before them stands indeed a monster. A beast that's almost 6 feet tall, dark fur and incredible muscle building up it's body. Its teeth are on full display as it growls loudly, aiming it's attention at a frozen Suho.
When Suho heard the stories from his friends about Jungkook's wolf, he didn't believe them one bit. He didn't believe that such strenght could be trapped inside such a weak body, but God-be-with-him he was wrong.
Not many has seen Jungkook's wolf, only the few that were there so many years back have been able to. It doesn't make Jeon less terrifying, it actually makes him even scarier.
Everyone is completely frozen. Jeon has told them to stay still, so they are fucking staying still. His dominance is too much for even the alphas to go up against. Some omegas are long gone.
All eyes follow the huge wolf as it slowly steps ahead. Its paws are big and strong enough to crush a skull underneath them and the heavy steps it takes just makes it so much more clear for everyone how truely big Jeon is.
Suho's eyes are almost starting to shine over with tears as he's the target of this beast. Still, he tries to keep his cool, deep down he wants Jungkook to hurt him so he can use it against him. Right now though, he doesn't see hurt as an option. He sees death.
Jeon growls again and makes Suho drop to his knees in an instance. The big wolf licks around his mouth, ready to freaking slice the other's head off like it's nothing.
But just as it's about the lift its head and neck to get a stronger blow, it smells something. Warmth and peace fill Jeon's system as it has done so many times before, making him stare down at the omega before him.
Taehyung is shaking with fear, totally out of breath. It seems like he has run the entire way here, having the guts the stand between the true-blood and its pray. For anyone else that would have been suicide, but for Taehyung, it's different.
It takes him longer than he could have wanted to actually utter a word. Even though it's his mate he's looking at, Taehyung has never seen a wolf this size. It would be frightening for even the best.
"J-Jungkook?" he whispers out as he keeps eye contact with the creature. Jeon just stares at him, eyes filled with want and need.
"It's okay. You're okay now. You don't have to hurt anyone," Taehyung assures the wolf and slowly lets his hands grab around its big face. Jeon doesn't move in the slightlest, he just keeps looking at his mates eyes.
Taehyung doesn't even know why he jumped into action, it just happened. It's like he acted completely out of instinct, letting his wolf take over his body for just a second. Luckily, he got here before Jeon could tear someone to pieces.
"Let's go home... okay?" he hesitently whispers and lets his thumbs care gently for the soft fur on Jeon's face. Again, the wolf doesn't show any sign of movement or interaction, but it isn't an objection either. With a deep breath, Taehyung slowly starts turning and moving backwards, dragging Jeon with his hands.
The wolf slowly starts moving with Taehyung, their eyes never breaking contact. The elder walks slowly, not wanting to trigger anything for the huge animal. Jeon seems hypnotized by his mate's eyes as he let's himself get leaded outside the cafeteria, not leaving a single glanze at any wolf on the way.
Taehyung might not realize it, but he saved a life today.
