_________
Jungkook gulps as he stands behind a tree, right outside the place where Taehyung is apparently working. Jungkook must be displayed as some pervert, standing there looking into the small playground.
He isn't really minding the kids though, he's just staring at the blue-haired male that's currently clearing up a kids mouth.
Seems like the small boy hasn't learned to eat proberbly yet, so his face is totally covered in today's dinner.
Jungkook's eyes almost shines as he observes Taehyung walk around and care for the smaller pups, his omega genes shining right through. Jungkook can't help but feel butterflies in his stomach from the sight.
He really wants to mate Taehyung and be with him. Talk to him. Listen to him. He wants to do everything with him.
Yet, he can't make himself take that harmless step forward and open up towards the other. Why is it so goddamn difficult? Because Jungkook's a coward, that's why.
He sighs and he keeps looking at Taehyung, getting lost in his beautiful, outstanding features. It's like the man is sculptured absolutely perfect, making it even harder for Jungkook to understand why he ended up with a mate like him.
As it is right now though, he doesn't know if that's more of a punishment than a gift.
Jungkook gets so lost in his mate that he doesn't even realizes their eyes meet. They must have been staring at each other for seconds on end.
Jungkook almost squeeks and turns around to hide behind the tree. He keeps his back tightly against it, feeling his heartbeat increase by the mare eye contact.
Holy shit, Taehyung really does have the most beautiful eyes.
Jungkook gulps even harder and clutches onto the tree behind him with his hands. He tries to calm his breathing.
Get it together Jungkook! You just looked at each other, you need to relax!
He really is the most pathetic creature to walk on this planet. With a deep breath and a huge amount of encouraging words in his head, he slowly turns his head and tips it so he can look past the tree.
His breath calms down slightly as he sees Taehyung isn't looking at him anymore. The male is squatted down in front of a small girl.
She has long blonde hair that's put up in a ponytail, it matches well with the pink dress she's wearing. It probably won't be possible to think she's not the cutest child ever.
It doesn't look like much aside from a normal conversation between a caretaker and a child, but Jungkook freezes when Taehyung suddenly points in the direction of where he's standing.
Taehyung looks up and their eyes meet again. Jungkook wants to hold the eye contact, but he looses his cool and hides again. God, he's such a wimp.
Taehyung smiles gently as he watches Jungkook disappear behind the tree again. To be honest, it's kind of adorable how shy the true-blood is. He's the most feared rank out of all werewolves, and he's currently hiding from his mate behind a tree. Cute, don't you think?
"Over there?" Yeji gently asks, her small hands wrapped around a flower Taehyung has just given her.
"Yes, he's too shy to go here himself. But I'm sure he'll really like to be your friend, don't you want to meet him?" Taehyung asks. People must think he's stupid for sending a child over to a true-blood, it's too dangerous.
However, children aren't as evolved as adults obviously and that applies for their abilities too. They can't smell the strength the same way grown-ups can, therefore Yeji can approach Jungkook without much trouble.
Taehyung is certain Jungkook is harmless. It seems like he's only dangerous when he's mad which he isn't right now.
"I want to! I'll be his friend," the small girl chears and starts making her way to the tree. She hums all the way, not knowing what type of person she's about to see.
She turns the corner and looks at the male behind it with big eyes. Immediately, she gets slightly scared by the size and scary face of the stranger, but she doesn't run away like most other kids would have done.
She holds tightly around the flower in her hands as she observes Jungkook's every move.
The said male is panicking. He's staring down at the small human, having absolutely no clue how to interact with it.
Should he wave? Run away?
They stare at each other for what seem like a century before the girl shyly reaches her arm out with the flower in her hands. Jungkook looks confused at it, taking a step back.
"T-This is for you. Taehyungie picked it up in the garden, he thought you should have it," she says.
Jungkook ogles at the girl and bites his lip. He hesitantly drops down so he's squatting in front of her, maybe she'll be less scared that way.
"H-He did?" Jungkook asks.
"Yes! He also said you needed a friend, so I'll be your friend!" she smiles the brightest smile possible and Jungkook can't help but feel his heart beat with happiness.
"Oh. You'll be my first friend then," Jungkook explains as Yeji gently places the flower in his hand.
"Yay! I'm Yeji, what's your name?" she asks. Jungkook gulps and looks at the fragile flower in his hand. He's scared he'll crush it with just the smallest movement.
"I-I'm Jungkook," he says and the girl smiles at that. She's so cute.
"Jungkookie," she says and grabs Jungkook's hand unexpectedly. The male almost falls over when he's suddenly dragged from his hide-out.
He doesn't want to get out of there, but he doesn't want to scare the girl by suddenly ripping his hand from her grib.
Shit. Shit. Shit. What should he do? Maybe this sudden turn of events will be the only way he can actually get to talk with Taehyung.
They have known about their mate-bond for over a month now, yet they still haven't spoken a single word. That's probably Jungkook's fault all alone.
He almost stumbles as he follows the girl, not wanting to hurt her by suddenly stopping or falling on his face. He has no idea how to deal with children and just like the flower, they are extremely fragile.
"Taehyungie! He wanted to be my friend," Yeji grins, glad she has lived up to the request she was given.
"Is that so?" Taehyung's beautiful voice says. Jungkook has never really heard it up this close. He can feel the bond between them almost shake in anticipation. The smell around them isn't making it much easier and their wolves are jumping around in joy.
"I'm sure he's happy to have a friend," Taehyung adds and let's his eyes rest on the true-blood who's shaking with nerves.
Jungkook's mind is panicking. He can't look up. His throat has closed up like vacuum, making it impossible for him to say a single word. This is like heaven and hell at the same time.
"He says I'm his first one, so you can be second," Yeji says. She's still holding Jungkook's larger hand tightly. She's clearly proud to have the first spot as Jungkook's friend, even though that's just the saddening reality for the male.
"That's fair, he's lucky to get two new friends on the same day. Why don't you go tell the others about it?" Taehyung suggests as he pats the girl's head gently.
She immediately nods and let's go of Jungkook so she can rush inside the house.
After that, everything goes silent. Taehyung is calmly looking at Jungkook, letting him get used to being so close to him. He can imagine this must be very overwhelming for the younger, seeing how he's still shaking.
Jungkook just stares at a random dot on the ground, not knowing what to do. He feels his breath get more and more uncontrolled, he almost loses his balance.
"Jungkook?" Taehyung timidly asks, he can see that the younger is struggling, plus he can feel the pain is chest.
Jungkook suddenly lifts his head and looks at Taehyung, opening his mouth helplessly to try and form some words, but he can't. He just... can't. It feels like he stands there for hours, not being able to function as a normal person.
That's all he can take before he runs. He jumps over the fence effortlessly and rushes down the road. He can feel the tears sting in the back of his eyes, regret already invading his entire body.
Jeon is freaking out, extremely mad that Jungkook could just run away like that. But Jungkook can't help it. He doesn't know if he'll ever be able to get close to Taehyung. It just hurts so much.
Back in the garten, Taehyung is standing a bit startled. He didn't expect Jungkook to run away like that. For the first time in forever, he actually though they had a chance of speaking together. Sadly, once again Jungkook has turned his back on him.
The elder knows he needs to give it time, but he can't help but feel his heart crack a little every time Jungkook escapes his grib.
With a deep sigh he turns around and heads back inside. He's still at work after all.
