"Are you really sure it's a good idea?" Soobin asks hesitantly as he looks down at the beautiful girl with long, dark locks.

Her eyes have a shiny golden color and her face is ethereal, just like her personality. Sweet, funny and just the right amount of savage.

"Come on, nothing's gonna happen! My family is nice," Haewon smiles and grabs Soobin's bigger hand in hers. They found each other almost three whole months ago by accident, noticing right away they were mates.

While Soobin is an alpha, Haewon is an omega as beautiful as one of her fathers. Let's just say she inherited almost everything from Taehyung, her oldest father. Definitely personality wise where her older brother is more like her other dad, Jungkook.

When turning 18, Haewon was longing for a mate and finally she found him. What's the big deal now is that he's supposed to meet her family today, and let's just say he's not very confident about it.

"B-But... a true-blood... he's gonna fucking kill me for being the mate of his only daughter!" Soobin whisper-shouts in panic. He has never seen a true-blood and the second Haewon mentioned her father was one, he almost pissed his pants.

'Meeting the parents' is bad enough as it is... but with one of such a rank? Might as well start planning his funeral. He has honestly been avoiding meeting this family for a long time simply because he feels like he isn't good enough for someone like Haewon.

As she jumped right into his arms and immediately showed him love... he stayed up every night thinking about how he didn't deserve a mate so beautiful and so sweet. Yet here he is, holding her hand.

Funny how life is.

"Stop, he's not like that, you don't have to be scared," Haewon giggles. It's not unusual that people react this way whenever she talks about Jungkook, but she knows by heart that this man would not hurt a fly if he could avoid it. He has been like that since the day Haewon opened her eyes and maybe even way before that.

However, people usually don't believe her and are frightened by the thought of meeting the strong, holy true-blood.

"I am. Oh my god, what if he challenges me or something? To check if I'm good enough for you?" Soobin gasps and puts his free hand over his mouth. He's just the best example of pure panic right now, but for absolutely no reason. 

"Will you stop? He's not going to challenge you," Haewon giggles, "I think he's just as scared about this as you are, to be honest."

Soobin frowns, clearly not getting the hint. Haewon tugs his hand again as they keep walking in the direction of her house. The beautiful villa she has lived in right from the start with her amazing parents and annoying older brother. Seems like the perfect family which they come close to being.

Soobin put on some nice clothes, not too formel but not too lousy either. He looks good, no lie there. It's not like Haewon asked him to, because her family doesn't care much about stuff like that. Still, the male insisted because he wanted to give a good first impression, totally convinced he's going to lose his head otherwise.

"Come on, we are almost there," the girl states with a smile. She gladly told her family three months ago that she found her mate. They weren't strict about it or anything, as long as she stayed safe at first to get to learn Soobin better before moving further with the relationship, they were fine with it.

She's glad her family took it that way, just like they did with her older brother and Jackson, who came to know unexpectedly that they were mates too. They didn't realize at first that they were mates, but they have been inseparable ever since they did.

Therefore, Haewon is super excited to let her parents meet her mate as well. Especially Taehyung has been excited to meet the other, knowing that he's overly happy for his daughter, but also wants to see if the boy is the right one for her.

It was the same way with Jackson. So now, it's Soobin's turn.

"I'm freaking out," the boy says as they enter the driveway of Haewon's home. The girl snickers and squeezes her mate's hand, knowing he has absolutely nothing to be scared of.

They make their way to the front door and Haewon opens it up without much thought.

Soobin immediately starts bracing himself for a strong, dominante scent that would want him to throw himself on his knees and beg for mercy. However, that's not what catches his attention at first.

Actually, it's a huge ass man with black curly hair and some comfy clothes on being kicked in the back and sent flying against the floor right in front of them.

He lands with a loud thud and a grunt, startling the two young people in the doorway.

"Stop being a scaredy-cat!" a rather deep, soft voice emerges and Soobin's eyes grow double size.

Well, that was weird.

Haewon facepalms and shakes her head a little. Why did she expect to have a normal, calm entrance? That's never going to happen, something is always getting messed up whenever she thinks it will go nice and smoothly.

"What the fuck?" a new voice appears and Hajun comes walking down the stairs, looking at his father lying on the floor, Jackson right behind him looking just as concerned. Jungkook hasn't moved yet, he's just holding his hands over his face and his ears are turning a deep red color. Easy to say he's embarrassed on another level.

"Haewon!" Taehyung suddenly gasps when he spots the two newcomers. He didn't think they would be here this early and he was currently forcing Jungkook out of the kitchen because the younger was freaking out.

But honestly, that's not so surprising, is it?

5 minutes earlier

"Why are you freaking out?"

"What if he doesn't like me? I could scare him away," Jungkook says with pure fear in his eyes. He's biting his fingernails and Taehyung has to constantly reach out to stop him from doing so.

"You won't scare him away," Taehyung rolls his eyes teasingly, but a soft smile is lingering on his lips.

No matter how many years go by, how much older they get and how much time changes... Jungkook will stay the same. Entering the years of 40+ wasn't easy, but it's somewhat reassuring to see that they didn't change that much in the long run.

At this point you would think Jungkook has outgrown the entire 'I can't talk to people or look them in the eyes without yeeting myself out of the room'. He definitely got better at it, but nowhere near over it.

It's adorable so to say, but Jungkook can't escape meeting Haewon's mate. Even if he's scared, it's still an important day for their daughter, so of course he has to be there.

"There was this kid I walked by on the street today who got scared of me. He ran into a lamppost! That's how scared he was... what if it's a sign?" Jungkook asks.

"What the hell are you talking about? You met Jackson, he didn't leave, did he? Plus, I don't think that kid you saw determines your future, babe," Taehyung giggles while shaking his head slightly. He reaches up and gently kisses Jungkook's lips.

"But what if he gets mad?" the younger asks.

"Why would he get mad?"

"Basic human reaction?"

"Stop saying that," Taehyung rolls his eyes and sighs again. This man. The elder gently wraps his arms around Jungkook's neck and presses their foreheads together.

"I know you've been through a lot Jungkook, but don't degrade yourself like that. We have already discussed this, okay? You don't have to worry," he mumbles and kisses Jungkook's nose.

The younger smiles and is just about to reply when he's abruptly turned around and kicked in the back. Let's just say he did not expect that and lost his balance, hearing his husband call him a scaredy-cat too.

Taehyung loves giving him the feels and then kicking the knowledge into him. Out of love of course, but sometimes Jungkook needs a good yell to understand, just like his father used to do it back in the day. But maybe Taehyung didn't expect him to straight up fall, but here we are.

"You got here early," Taehyung's says and walks over to his daughter, hugging her tightly. She was only away for a few hours, but for some reason he still misses her. The elder man pulls back and looks at Soobin, gently kicking Jungkook, on the floor, behind him.

"Get up, get up," he whispers, even if all of them can hear him clearly. Jungkook scrambles off the floor and onto his feet, still totally red in the face from falling so embarrassingly. Not to mention Taehyung is completely dismissing the fact that he's the one who kicked him, he's just smiling innocently as if nothing happened.

"You must be Soobin?" Taehyung asks and stretches his hand out, "I'm sorry for that, I got a little overgeared. We are glad to finally meet you!"

Soobin blinks before getting back to his senses and immediately grabbing Taehyung's hand with both of his. He's facinated with Taehyung and Haewon's similarities. This man is also absolutely gorgeous as well.

"N-Nice to meet you too," he smiles. Taehyung nods gently and introduces himself before letting Jungkook speak.

"I-I'm Jungkook," he says and hesitantly shakes hands with the young boy. Soobin feels a shiver run through his body when he notices the strong scent and sensation that's radiating off Jungkook. It's not as clear as he thought it would be, but it's definitely there.

Soobin gets introduced to Hajun and Jackson as well. When Jackson shakes his hand, he says with a smile, "don't worry, it was like that when I got here too."

That calmed the new member of the family to some degree and he was soon dragged into the living room to have an amazing dinner. He quickly realized that Haewon was right about Jungkook being very shy and timid, even though he has a strong rank. It was very nice, actually.

He got to know a lot about them and even got to see a few old, baby pictures of Haewon, much to her distress. It was enjoyable though, just like the food they ate and the rest of their conversations. Being around Jungkook was weird at first, but after an hour or so, he kinda got used to the feeling. 

Turns out, he really didn't have to be scared at all. This family might have it's flaws and honestly it's pretty crazy, but it has a certain charm to it. In the end, he's glad he accepted the offer Haewon gave him.

Well, maybe until two rather old men came bashing through the front door, followed by other three men on Taehyung and Jungkook's age. One of them with wine bottles in his hands, claiming it's was 'party time'.

Charming? Indeed.
