Cedric lowered his eyes sadly; knowing that was the worst thing he did other than lying and trying to steal from Sofia since they met, was trying to take over the kingdom. But to his surprise, that's not what the girl was angry about.

"The worst thing you did; was say we weren't friends, because I know that's not true!... You helped me save Royal Prep, you helped me beat Princess Ivy; you even let Morgana catch you so I could get away! Only a great sorcerer could do those things, and a great friend!"

Cedric's sad face softens into a regretful expression; hearing those acts of courage. He knelt down to the bars of his cell door, where Sofia's hands were, before he gently putting one of his's over hers.

"Sofia... I'm... I'm so sorry!..."

However, the moment was interrupted when the sorcerer and princess heard a guard call out to them, including the one that was asleep. "An evil wizard's attacking the castle! Hurry!"

As the guards left and the alarms started to go off, Cedric realized there's only one person who could be doing this since all the other evil wizards are busy! "It must be... Grimtrix!..."

Sofia knew her family was in danger and had to go stop him! "I have to go!"

Cedric watched with shock and horror as Sofia raced out of the dungeon, and back to the throne room to help her family! Cedric knew Grimtrix had a medusa stone orb in his scepter and would use it to freeze Sofia and the others. The sorcerer then realized that Sofia's friendship and the lives of her family mattered more to him than some crown or some piece of jewelry like the amulet ever could! He had to get out of here and save them, but how? His eyes brightened when he saw the keys to his cell hanging close by, now all he needed to do was figure out how to get them! Wormwood still thought his master wanted to be evil.

"Excellent! Grimtrix will get us out of here!"

However, Cedric's raven gave him an idea! "No, Wormy! We will get ourselves out of here!"

"How?!"

With that, Cedric proceeded to bam the cage Wormwood's in against the bars of his cell window, much to the raven's horror and confusion! "What are you doing?! No! Ow!"

When the cage is smashed into parts, Cedric leads his dizzy animal friend to the bars of his cell door. "Get the keys!"

The raven shook the dizziness off, before following his master's orders. "Oh! Right, I'll get the keys!..."

The bird flew over and grabbed the keys. Three bandit pirates who were in a nearby cell, tried whistling for Wormwood to give them the keys, but he didn't listen. He then gave them to Cedric to unlock his cell door, before the two ignored the prisoner bandits, and raced out of the dungeon to save Sofia and her family! In the royal throne room, Grimtrix had not only frozen all the royal guards, but also the royal family as well! "Now that I've frozen the royal family, where oh where is King Cedric?"

Just then, Sofia came into the room, horrified to see her family was frozen once more! "Grimtrix!"

Grimtrix turned around, shocked but smiled evilly to see the last member of the royal family. "Huh? Why hello, Princess Sofia! Lovely to see you again, now goodbye!"

But the shield Sofia was holding wasn't strong enough to protect her, and was frozen as still as a statue! Grimtrix smiled evilly as Sofia's amulet slipped off her neck before it rolled over into the hands of Cedric, who had just entered the room! The sorcerer silently growled at his former teacher, as he put the amulet around his neck. "Grimtrix!"

The former headmaster smiled, still thinking that Cedric wanted power. "Ah! Cedric, there you are! Now, all you have to do is change the Princess's throne, and with the power of the amulet of Avalor, the kingdom is yours! Greatness awaits, King Cedric!"

As Grimtrix handed Cedric his scepter, the sorcerer went over and grabbed his wand back from Roland! Cedric looked at the orb, thinking about what he really wants for the first time in years since he was a kid, as he hears the good times with the royal family in the last three years.

"The worst thing you did... Was say we weren't friends!.... Because I know that's not true!... I'm going to find a way to show Dad that you're a great sorcerer!..."

"Uh... Why would do that?..."

"Because you're my friend!..."

"Friend?..."

"What's this?... (SEES SOME RUBYS SHAPED INTO A HEART, REALIZING SOFIA MADE IT.) She... She made this... For me?..."

"Someone, do something!..."

"Sofia?! Lizardo Chango!... (TURNS SOFIA BACK TO HERSELF.)"

"(SIGHS WITH RELIFE.) You did it!..."

"That was magnificent! You saved Sofia's life... Thank you, Cedric!..."

"I... Saved her life?..."

"Hi, Mr. Cedric!..."

"It's Cedric... Wait, you got it right!"

"Got what right?"

"My name!"

"Mom, Dad!..."

"(SIGHS) You're alright!..."

"Cedric, you saved us?..."

"He sure did!..."

"Bravo!..."

"Cedric's been helping me all day dad, he's the best royal sorcerer!"

"He is?"

"I am?!"

"Is everyone alright?!"

"We're fine..."

"Thank you for saving us, Greylock!"

"I couldn't have done it without my friend, Cedric!..."

"Oh? Well done, Cedric!..."

"Thank you, your majesty!"

"It's a... Wand case!..."

"I know it's not magical, but... I made it myself!..."

"I'll never lose my wand again!... This is the best present I have ever gotten, ever!... I have a gift for you as well, Sofia!..."

"You do?"

"(CEDRIC CASTS A SPELL, WHICH MAKES A LITTLE SNOW CLOUD ABOVE THE TREE.)"

"I love it when it snows on Wassailia!..."

"Well... So do I, Princess Sofia!..."

"Happy Holidays, Mr. Cedric!"

"Hmm, yes... Well it is happy, isn't it?..."

"She is the nicest friend you've ever had, Ceddykins! Come to think of it, she might be the only friend you've ever had!..."

Cedric smiles before he raises his wand and casts a spell on the orb! "Power Beamio!"

The spell fires a massive beam of light at the orb, creating a bright light of green magic in the room! When the smoke clears, the spell on everyone is broken, unfreezing them! Sofia shook the effects of the spell off and sees the glowing Cedric with the Amulet of Avalor on him!

"Mr. Cedric?!"

The girl ran up to hug her mentor, and for once Cedric didn't try to push her away and embraced his student with relief. "Sofia! Oh, I'm so happy to see you!"

Roland and the others joined them, shocked at what they saw as the King approached his former royal sorcerer. "Cedric? You saved us?"

Sofia smiled at her father, realizing that Cedric truly had changed as she said! "He sure did!..."

Before anyone could congratulate him, Cedric saw Grimtrix get up from the spot he was knocked out by his releasing spell and was aiming his wand at Roland! "Your majesty, look out!"

"Vadisima!"

Cedric pushes his friend out of the way before the death spell even has a chance to hit Roland. He points his wand at Grimtrix, who's evil smile has widened, knowing he's done being kind. "That was a terrible mistake, Cedric!"

Cedric simply put a protective hand against Sofia, refusing to let Grimtrix hurt her again! "The only mistake that was ever made was listening to you or trusting you over my friends!"

Grimtrix smirked before using some magic dust to blind Roland and the others, much to both Sofia and Cedric's horror! The evil wizard turned to the little Princess before he raised his wand. "Now then Princess, you have been a thorn in my side, once too often! Vadisima!"

Cedric however saw it coming and was much faster, due to having the amulet around his neck! "Princess, look out!"

The sorcerer pushes the girl out of the way just in time for the green spell to hit the pink amulet, causing a huge blast of green magic to fill the room! When the smoke cleared, Roland, Miranda, and the royal twins saw that Grimtrix was not only gone, but all that was left of Cedric was Sofia"s amulet! Roland saw that his youngest daughter was on the floor next to the amulet, trying her best not to cry.

"Where is Cedric, Sofia?"

Sofia tried her best not to lose her composure in front of her family, before explaining what had happened. "Grimtrix cast the same death curse that Shuriki used on Elena to try and kill me, but... Mr. Cedric was much faster due to him wearing my amulet, so... It hit him instead! Giving Grimtrix time to escape!..."

As Amber came over to comfort her little sister, Miranda, Roland, and James were shocked!

"What?!"

"(GASPS) No!..."

"Cedric?..."

Sofia felt tears as she runs up to her mother for a hug. Cedric had the chance to take over the kingdom, but... He chose her friendship instead!... "H-he's gone!... He's gone!..."

Miranda felt tears of her own, streaming down her cheeks. "I'm so sorry, Sofia... I truly am!..."

The twins just stood in shock, as Amber buried her golden head, in her brother's red clothes, both saddened by what just happened.

"He saved us..."

"He saved all of us!"

Roland just collapsed on his knees, while clutching Cedric's wand that he dropped, feeling he was responsible for this mess. "And I gave him nothing but a hard time!... If I had it to do over again, I would definitely be nicer!..."

Later that day at midnight, Roland told Tilly, his mother, Cedric's parents, Cordelia, and his niece, Calista about what had happened earlier that night. So in the forest where he and Cedric used to play Dazzleball, they held a funeral in honour of their former royal sorcerer! Cordelia hugged her crying daughter, realizing she should've realized that her brother was a great sorcerer like his niece knew he was. Goodwin held onto a sobbing Winfred; he was proud that his son finally did the right thing as he wanted, but he just wished that it hadn't come at the cost of his life while risking his for Sofia's! Amber just turned away and buried her head in her younger twin's shoulders; she and James should've given Cedric more respect sooner to avoid this mess! Roland turned away from his crying sister so that his mother could give her a comforting hug, to see Sofia crying alone by herself with Miranda. As the king placed his hands on the flower bed in honour of his oldest childhood friend, he knew now that nothing would ever be the same again.

"I'll never forget you; Cedric the Sensational!..."

Cedric remembered that moment all too well; seeing his childhood friend and the others pushed aside as his attention is turned to Sofia, who Grimtrix has his wand pointed at!

"Now then Princess, you have been a thorn in my side, once too often! Vadisima!"

Cedric however saw it coming and was much faster, due to having the amulet around his neck! "Princess, look out!"

He immediately pushed the girl out of harm's way as the green spell hit the amulet he was wearing, Cedric felt himself being pulled inside the gem! As Cedric breaths a sigh of relief that he's still alive, his eyes widened when he saw Sofia's terrified eyes filled with tears. Even though he knew it was pointless, Cedric reached out a pleading hand towards the princess. Cedric began falling deeper and deeper into the amulet until finally, he reached the bottom of the jewel. Cedric reopened his eyes as some glass fell on him, before looking up and hearing Roland's voice from outside the amulet.

"Where is Cedric, Sofia?"

"Grimtrix cast the same death curse that Shuriki used on Elena to try and kill me, but... Mr. Cedric was much faster due to him wearing my amulet, so... It hit him instead!... Giving Grimtrix time to escape!..."

"What?!"

"(GASPS) No!..."

"Cedric?..."

For the first time since he was little, Cedric felt his heartbreak into two. While he heard his friends and family cry for him, silently apologizing... Thinking that he was gone, the sorcerer broke down into tears filled of homesickness. "I'll never escape from this prison... Or see my friends or family again!..."

The day after Sofia saved the Mystic Isles from Prisma, the young girl woke up in her room gasping with fright! The young girl looks at her amulet, realizing she has to tell her family about this! In the living room, King Roland and Queen Miranda were going over some royal scrolls when Sofia rushed in!

"Mom! Dad! You'll never believe I what I just saw!"

Miranda placed a comforting hand on her daughter's shoulder as she sat down on the sofa. "Alright, Sofia calm down! Did have anything to do with your future protector training?"

Sofia remembers that she told them and James about her and Amber's adventure in the Mystic Isles and the honour she had received last night. "No, Vega and Orion haven't summoned me yet. You're gonna think I'm crazy, but... I had a dream that Mr. Cedric's trapped inside my amulet!"

Roland's eyes widened, amazed at what he heard. "Wait a minute, are you positive Sofia?"

Sofia's terrified eyes nodded, determined at what she saw. Later after breakfast, James and Amber were shocked by what their parents and sister told them.

"Cedric's trapped in the amulet?! But why would he be in there?"

Before Sofia could answer, Amber, beat her to it. "Because he was wearing the amulet James, remember? Elena was wearing the amulet 44 years ago when she confronted Shuriki alone to save her little sister and grandparents and when she tried to strike her down like she did her parents..."

Miranda realized what she and Sofia were trying to get at. "The amulet protected her by pulling her into it until Sofia freed her!"

"Exactly mom, Mr. Cedric had the amulet on after Grimtrix froze me with the freezing stone when it fell off, so it pulled him into the amulet when the death spell hit him instead of me!"

Both her siblings and her parents surrounded her, realizing that's why she had that nightmare. Roland finally spoke up, hoping that his childhood friend was alive. "So... Cedric's alive?..."

Sofia looked at her amulet, before closing her eyes. "There's only one way to find out!... The girl clutched her amulet before whispering a silent plead to Cedric, deep within the gem. "Please Mr. Cedric, if you're in there, give me and my family a sign!..."

Deep within the gem, the crying sorcerer heard the girl's gentle plead, before getting up with joy and relief for the first time in days!

"(GASPS) Sofia!..."

The soft reply causes the amulet to turn a magical dark violet, causing Sofia's dress to turn into a sorcerer's robe! When the magic dust cleared, her family was shocked to see their youngest family member wearing a sorcerer's robe, one similar to her's and Cedric's! Miranda put an unsure hand on her youngest daughter's shoulders, hoping her vision was correct.

"Is he?..."

Sofia laughs with tears of joy, for the first time in weeks. "He's alive!..."

Her mother and siblings breathe a sigh of relief, relieved that their royal sorcerer is alive! Roland steps forward, hoping there's a way to save him..."Can you get him out?"

Sofia takes out her mentor's book about the kingdom of Avalor they got from Hexlely Hall. "Maybe... But the easiest way to do that is to get the wand that imprisoned him in the amulet in the first place!"

Amber realized what she meant. "Then we need to find Grimtrix's wand and put it on the Crown Statue of Aziluna in Avalor!"

James is confused and puts his hands up, trying to remember what his sisters are trying to say. "W-w-w-wait! The healing waters of Aziluna in ancient Maru?! The one where you put Shuriki's wand on along with your amulet and freed Elena from when we were in Avalor almost a year ago, Sofia?"

"That's one, I know it's a lot to ask..."

Miranda put a gentle hand on Sofia's shoulder. "Sofia, you and Cedric have always been there for us, and now we will be there for you!"

"Thanks, mom!"

"Miranda's right! I'll send out a search party at once!"

As Roland and her siblings left, Miranda smiled at her daughter. "You're going to make a great protector, Sofia!..."

Sofia simply hugged her mother, glad she trusts her secrecy now. "Thanks, mom, as for Mr. Cedric... I'll not give up until I find a way to free him!..."

The two smiled, before walking off so Sofia could tell her mom about her previous adventures as a storybook keeper.

Elena(Singing):
Young Sofia was magical now,
But since she did not get hit by the green spell...
She still retained her magical abilities,
So thank her lucky stars!

But Roland and Tilly wept,
Because their friend could never come home!...
They'd have to watch their precious friend,
Grow up from afar!

Though Prisma's horrid plan,
Was hatched before Sofia got her first protector mission!
The girl grew stronger every day,
And that's the gospel truth!
