Vera's POV

"Whoa" he says with shock and excitement

After fifteen minutes and more of telling him the story, I think he's never going to forger how awesome I am.

Don't judge.
I know I am.

"Yeah I know" I say

"Just Whoa!" he stands up now standing over me

Angel...

"Was it that good? I mean in my head, I was the bait"

"But you went through all that for her? You faced a real bad guy you know?" he says

"It felt like the shortest fifteen minutes of my life" I say calmly now getting up.

In front of him, I'm calm and cool headed but inside me I'm bursting with excitement and enthusiasm.

He listened to every inch of my weird tale.

"Vera I think you're going home oh!" Collins yells from behind with shy Florence following behind.

I wonder where they went.

"oh Florence are you ready?" I ask

She looks at me with more excitement than ever.
What did these two do??

"Yeah.. Let's get going. But lemme take my English textbook from Adesua before we go, I'm coming" she says and disappears.

Collins is now alone with Tobi and I in this empty court.
I didn't even notice.

"Vera! Tell me about Florence" Collins commands out of nowhere.

Who's this one?

"What?? I'm lost" I say

"Really?? You're still on this" Tobi asks laughing at him

What are they talking about?

"Guy shut up! Vera jare, tell me about her" he commands again.

"In what sense" I ask with my hands

"Like has she ever mentioned anything to you, like about me.. Liking me???" he asks innocently

"Well I'm not sure" I say trying not to laugh

"plsss! Think for me " he says eagerly

Looks like someone likes Flo.

"Leave her, she can't remember" Tobi says defending me

"There was one time-

" Yes yes what happened??? " he asks cutting me off

I roll my eyes at him and continue

" Well there was one time she mistakenly too your Government note home and she told me how she helped to do your assignment since it was part of your grade and it basically wasn't your fault" I say finally

We'll it's actually true.

She kissed every page of his note.
It was sad to watch.

"And??" he asks

"And that's all" I say

Collins looking disappointed shrugs his shoulders

"okay then." he says sadly

I wish I could tell him how she feels.
But it's left to her..

"Oh! You like her?" I ask

He looks up and back down with his hands in his pocket.

He does.
It's obvious.

"I don't fall for girls. Girls fall for me" he says

"Hmmmm then why were you asking if she likes you?"

"Because we don't talk much.. And I finally talked to her today and she seems like a kind of person to chat with" he says boldly.

Wowwww...

"That's not what you told me . You said you li-

" Shut up!! " Collins cuts Tobi off

Tobi laughs shaking his head

" You confuse me most times" Tobi says

"Here she comes" I say

Florence walks into our gathering looking less shy than earlier.

I must get to the bottom of this.

"Okay I got the textbook! Let's go Vera" she says waving the textbook up in the air

"Okay" I respond picking up my bag and hers

"Bye everyone!" Florence says waving without looking back.
She keeps walking fast!

I'm not running this time.

I was about to leave when Collins call back.

"Don't tell her we had this conversation" he says more like in a threatening tone.

"Bye Vera" Tobi says

Ignoring Collins' death stares, I wave at Tobi and walk off.

"Byeeee!!!"

"Florence wait up!!" I yell walking fast

What's up with her?

"Didn't you feel that weird air back at the court? Gosh I couldn't stand it back there" she says finally reaching my pace.

"Is that why walked off like that?" I say

"I'm sorry Vera. I couldn't stand it" she says again.

"What happened?? You left off with Collins. You came back smiling and bubbly, then you disappear again and come back acting all weird. What happened??"

"one at a time Vera" she says smiling

"Cut to the chase a spit it out!" I say getting inquisitive

"okay okay.. When we left, Collins spent like two minutes discussing with the coach. I thought we were heading back to where you and Tobi were seated but he insisted we take a walk around school, I mean the empty parts of school.. He mentioned how he's been dying to talk to me since we don't talk during school hours.. I did my normal introduction where I say the 'go with the flo' thing... He said I seemed fun and all that..

She paused and looked at me if I was really listening..

"And??" I say to prove to her

"Then it felt nice talking to him too, we really enjoyed each others company. He didn't do anything to offend me though. Then we came back and I decided to collect my textbook back from Adesua. While I was walking to the car park, I was thinking if he was just playing mind games with me or maybe he thought I was fun to him.. I felt confused Vera. Maybe he's trying to break me or he's playing a prank? I kept thinking I was a joke to him.. That's all"

She finally says in a scared tone.

"Awww Flo don't worry.. I'm sure he's not trying to do anything stupid to you. Trust me. Collins is too stupid to do that" I say

"He's not stupid! He's a smart kid. A sexy smart demon!" she says cutting me off

Now my Dream husband chaser is back!

"I'm sure it's all in your head." I say patting her back.

"I hope so too. So how did things go with you and Tobi?" she says changing the subject

Is my sad life always going to be a main character on its own?

It's the day!

Our school's going against my former cheap ass school!

I can't wait.
We have just like an hour left till the school ends and it feels like forever.
Florence is busy scribbling down 'nonsense' while I try as much as possible to listen to this English teacher

Blehhhh..

"Mr Justice! We have an emergency meeting now in the cafeteria. Sorry to disrupt your class, but the principal called us in" a lanky woman says as she dissappears immediately after.

The English teacher looks at us and outside, trying to decide on what to do.

Get the hell outta here!
He picks up his teaching materials and scrambles out of the class yelling "we'll continue next class!"

Before he even finished, we all started jumping on our chairs and banging every single thing in our way.

Yeah I know, we act like barbarians.. Don't judge

"What do we do with this free time now" Florence says still scribbling down what she calls art

I look around the already jungle class and shrug.

"I don't even know" I say looking over her shoulder to see her finishing touch

"And this is what I call the Collins!" she says shoving too close to my face.

It looks like a chuppacobra
That's a goat eater..

"Whattt??!" I say laughing at what she drew

"What? Isn't he beautiful?" she says admiring the abomination in the note book

I can't seem to understand what she likes about the drawing.

"I heard my name" Collins says coming from one carnet of the class

I look at Florence who already has shoved the book into my bag.

Real smooth Flo, real smooth.

"Don't spoil this for me oh" she whispers

I give her the 'oh really look'

I was about to actually say the words out but Collins was already at our table.

I feel like I need to leave.

"Did you say my name??" he asks leaning of Florence side of the table.

"Nope" I say

He looks at me and frowns

"I was talking to her" he says looking at quite Flo

"Must you always direct all your questions to her??" I ask with an evil smile.

He's definitely cornered now.

He looks at me with shock and rolls his eyes.

He thought I wasn't going to say that! Well..i just did!

"I was just telling her how nice it was talking with for for the first time the other day at the court" Florence says smiling

I look at her in amusement.
That's my girl!

"Ohh. Did Vera tell you anything about me?" he asks feeling the tension to know whether I disobeyed his 'order'

I wish I did honestly. It would've been fun to watch him turn into a tomato.

I look at him and frown

"Tell her wh-

" No nothing I know of.. Is there something you're not telling me? " Florence asks facing me

He said he likes you and was saying how great a person you are.
He thinks you're cute too.. He's too dumb to tell you that
He even told Tobi about it.

"No no no" I say

"Ohh okay then" she says but still gives me a 'this is not over' look

God how did I end up in this?

Just a like forty-five minutes left to the end of school
The match is going to be hot!

Gosh I can't wait....
