Vera's POV

"Looks like she hasn't had a meal for over two weeks!" Florence whispers to me as we all drive in Silence.

I let out a little laugh and push her away.

We've been driving for almost half an hour. This traffic isn't helping at all.
"are you still going to stay over at my place?" Florence says to me but now less in a whisper.

I shake my head at her. "Not at all. Since she's back, I'm going back to my house" I say

Florence pouts her mouth in annoyance.

Sorry.

"How was it anyways? How didn't you get hurt?" She asks

Why does she keep asking questions.
I turn to her smile.
"Goshh I don't even know how I survived it. I was expecting to get a scar or something to show my future grandchildren when they ask. It was super short actually.. Like it never really happened.. The only thing I can really remember is the gun being pointed at my face and gunshots from the sky.. I almost thought it was God and his angels fooling around" I say and smile at the thought of it.

"Weren't you scared? I mean he pointed a gun at you.. " she says curiously

I shrug.

"At first, I was scared. I was almost thinking of running away but there was an 100% chance he was gonna shoot me right away. I just stayed put and then boom! Gunshot started out." I say demonstrating the explosion of the guns with my hands.

She leans closer, fascinated by my 'story'

It's not really something I'm proud to talk about though. It lasted for less than fifteen freaking minutes!

" Whoa" she whispers in excitement

"Okay girls. I'm taking Jones over here to the Hospital. She doesn't feel alright" the police who spoke to me in the beginning informs us as he takes a worried glance at Mrs Jones sitting lazily next to him.

"Is she okay?" I ask getting a bit worried.

"Just a mild fever is what she has. She'll be okay.. Just need to get to the hospital to run some tests that's all" he says making a U-turn.

"Road trip!" Flo says

"Well to the hospital isn't a road trip anyways" I say

"I'm not ready to go home. I didn't put on lip gloss for nothing." she says flipping her hair to my face.

Right.
The lip gloss incident.
Well at least, I didn't waste thirty minutes of my life watching her pick plain gloss.

"Alright girls, stay here in the car." the police, Mr Diipo, says as he unbuckles his seat belt.

Really?
Why do we have to wait here like children?

He comes down and rushes to the other side of the car, where Mrs Jones is seated quietly.

He quietly whispers in her ear. He holds her gently for her to come down.

This is weird to watch.

Finally, Mrs Jones finds her feet but he still insists to hold her incase she looses balance.

Finally! They're out on they're way to main door of the hospital.
That was real awkward..

"Hmmm looks like Mr Diipo has a weird crush on your grandma" Flo says nudging my arm.

Well she might be right

"Maybe.. But he was just helping her out. What do you expect him to do?"

"Forget that! Vera look behind you!!" Flo says pointing her finger behind something or someone outside.

"What's that? I can't see anything" I say straining my eyes in the bright light of the sun.

She smacks my head real hard

"What the fuck! Ouch! Florence what the hell?? I can't see anyth-

I was unable to finish my sentence when I finally caught up with what she was talking about.

Still rubbing my pounding head, I look at her and roll my eyes.

" Well?? Go ahead" she says gesturing her hands

"To do what? I can't just go out of the car" I say

"Rubbish! Don't be a child Vera. Just get the hell down and meet him. He's in his car anyways. Seems like he's also waiting for his parents or something"

"No" I say

Before I knew it, she rushes to my side and opens the door of the car.

"What are you-

" Tobiiiiiiii!!!!! " she cuts me off yelling his name.

He looks around searching for the voice. He finally spots us and waves through his rolled down windows.

" Florence! What the fuck! " I say through closed teeth

She ignores me and waves back at him. She grabs my hands and forces me to wave.

"I'm helping you out dummy." she says smiling

I hate you.

I was about to close the door of the car, then the universe refuses.

"Hey! Don't go yet" he says now getting down from his car.

He's coming here?
Shit.

Out of nowhere, I'm being pushed out of the car.

Florence is so lucky I landed on my feet.
I turn to look at her and she just smiles and closes the door shut, locking it from inside.

I'm going to kill her.

I turn to look at my current situation coming closer and closer.
Without thinking, I walk a few steps towards him, now a little bit out of sound from Florence.

He's getting closer.. Smiling

He's so fit!
I'm pretty sure he's working out.
He's wearing a blue tank top, revealing more of his muscles.

Damn.
And with those black shorts.. He doesn't have hair on his legs.
He's like an angel.
A perfect one.

"What brings you to the Hospital? Are you sick?" he says now very close to my face.

Just a few steps for my lips to taste his.

Vera!
Focus.

"Yeah...i mean uhm.. I'm not sick! I mean are you sick? Pssttt.. Me? No no no I'm not! My grandma is" I say

What the actual fuck was that Vera?
You're fidgeting??

Get a hold of yourself!

He lets out a small laugh

"It's okay." he says

Is he tired of me or something.
"What are you doing here too?"

Finally, I didn't hesitate.

"Well.. My mum works here and I decided to follow her to her office today. I got bored and decided to stay in the car" he says pointing at his car.

He's just too perfect!

Snap.
The.
Hell.
Out.
Of.
It!!

"So you still coming for the game?" he asks

Well I won't miss it for the world you know.

"Yeah sure I am. Next week right?"
Yes if course Vera, he said it was next week. Why are you still asking?

"Great. I thought you would make up a silly excuse or something" he says

Me?
Mention one time where I said something stupid just to escape a situation?

Well maybe just once..
Well there was another time where-

Shut up inner concise!
Not the time.

"I wouldn't miss it for the world. Why would you say that?" I say in a more disappointed tone.

That hurts..

He notices my change of mood and smiles to assure its not a big deal

I hope that's what the smile meant..
Because its hard to read his breath taking super power.

"Well I'm going against your former school. Remember? And it'll be weird for you, don't you think?" he says

We'll true true. But it won't be weird that dumbass school looses.

"oh I get it now.. Its fine, really it is. I've moved past that school anyways.. I left a long time ago you know. It'll be hard for them to even remember who I am." I say

It's like he's staring right into my soul.

"Glad to hear that, I was really bothered all week thinking you wouldn't make it" he says scratching the back of his full dark length hair.

Damn.

"Anyways..how has your week been? I heard you stayed over at Florence's. Hope nothing bad happened to you?" he asks looking directly at me now.

I'm glad you asked.

"oh me?! It's nothing.. I had one hell of a week! Its a longgg story" I say gesturing the size of my story with my hands.

"What?" he says laughing

Awww..

"Tell me about it" he says

"Gosh I don't even know where to start" I say laughing as everything flashes back to me.

What a week...

"C'mon just say it..i have all day" he says eager to know what happened.

Isn't he one inquisitive cat.

The universe decides my fun should have been over a long time ago by allowing Mrs Jones and the Police man to come back so early.

I frown at the thought of leaving him here.  And we were just getting closer!

Damn you Universeee!!

"Oh I'm so sorry.. I have to go now" .. I say pointing at the two elders coming up to the car.

"Is that a Police man!?" Tobi asks amused

"Well yeah..." I laugh at his amusement.
"it's actually part of my story" I say

"Then I'll love to hear it another time?" he says more like in a question.

"yeah. Yeah you will. Promise" I say

Vera?! Why would you say promise? Are you married?!

"I hope so.. See you on Monday then.. Or I'll call or maybe a text" he says preparing to retreat back to his former position.

Yes! A million times yes!
Keep calm dear, keep calm.

"Yeah anyone.. I have to go now.. Bye" I say

"Nice talking to you today Vera" he says smiling

He's making me melt!

"Yeah you too, you too"  I finally say turning to take my leave.

Flo pops her head out of the car.
Great timing Flo, just great!

"Sorry Tobi but we're going now!" she says

Tobi laughs at her and shakes his head
"Yeah I know"

"Did she tell you she almost got herself killed this past week?" Flo says in excitement

She didn't just at that.
Oh wait.. She did

Tobi turns around with curious and shocked eyes. He turns to look at me and then Flo, then me again.

He smiles.

I hope it's a 'I'm glad you're okay now' smile

"This story is going to take a long time for me to understand" he says

I smile
I'm blushing?

Nuh uh!

"Told you" I say for the last time and turn to the car.

"Byeee!" Flo says and he waves without looking back.

Such a well structured back he had. Beautifully made.

"So... How did it go??" Flo says wiggling her eyebrows

I guess I'm not the one that's going to end up living with fifty cats when I'm forty.
