WHEN YOU'RE GONE: Title
Seventeen years, ten months, two weeks, three days...
Each moment is agony.
Every second of every day, George Beaumont is reminded of his young wife's untimely death. With every memory within the old castle, with every glimpse of that painting up on that mantle, with every glimpse of his only son. By this point, he is addicted to laudanum and half-mad with guilt. In his deluded mind, he is her murderer.
Following the aftermath of his closest friend's attempt to kill herself, Raymond Beaumont finds an old journal of a woman who barely had gotten to know- his mother. Who really was the farmer's daughter who became a duchess?
He chases clues of a possible murder with an heiress whose wounds have not yet even closed. As they race through the countryside, everything begins to fall into place and the big picture is much darker than they ever could have imagined.
A choice.
A mystery.
A betrayal.
Secrets have a horrible way of revealing themselves...:Summary)
: CHAPTER ONE:
By the summary, you can already feel the melancholy pulling at the reigns for this novel. The cover is lovey, and I already~ know, this one here isn't really going to have issue with grammar but more so.... story telling.
So with that mentioned we are going IN~!
Aha! There a small moments of tense problems...its tinsy, tiny...moments where the word that's better suited for present, turns to past.
He had, to he have...check for those small things that snaggle.
I don't know if this may be only me, but I feel like the author and the character are fighting a little bit as to who is telling the story.
This relates to the statement above about tenses, certain words are used during an omnipotent view point, verses first character or third person. Make sure you're using the write VERBAGGGGG~~ *GGGGGG*
All-in all great first chapter, truly captivating...aside from the occasional misplaced word use...it was truly enjoyable.
: CHAPTER 2:
Maybe I'm wrong...but was epilepsy actually something diagnosable in that time period? Was there another name for it?
Since the girl basically tells the reader she has it, I'm only wondering if that is what it would be called during that time?
...I freaking love it! I love this chapter...I know, I know I'm a dark romance...or dar~k romance lover, this was perfect...I'm sorry but...I love it!
:Chapter 3:
The third was slightly disappointing as it was shorter, and your announcement while important, and definitely needed; still I believe you could have simply created a AN pages for people to see it. I wished for more story...but...le'sigh.
In conclusion...
So...I enjoyed it, the first three chapter surely are gripping and exciting they definitely put me in the mind of the the Bronte sisters, which if you knew me personally you would know I absolutely love their work...especially Charlotte and Emily.
Anway, I did enjoy it...and the problems I did see I wrote out ^^^above...so....>.>
SYWAR OUT!
LOVE IT, OR hate it COMMENT!
