Chapter 12 - Things Get Steamy at the Eden Club

Some sexual content will be shown in this chapter. Come on, guys. They're going to a sex club. And NO this is not a lemon. And as you all know this chapter has depresso thoughts so don't read if you're sensitive to that type of stuff. Also, sheer awesome insults from my main girl Puma.

Connor's POV

Puma is hiding something. Hank's perfect timing caused me to delay my questions. Something was wrong with Puma's arms. I need to get her into a private area so I can ask again. Meanwhile, we had arrived at the crime scene and Hank grabbed his head.

"Feels like there's someone playing a drill inside my skull... Are you sure this is the place?"

"It's the address from the report," I confirmed.

The three of us got out of the car and walked to the entrance. Lieutenant read the sign. "Sexiest androids in town. Now I know why you insisted on coming here."

Puma let out a light exhale through her nose at that comment. It sounded like a light laugh. It was good she was getting better. I found myself staring at her, so I forced myself to look away at the androids on display. Of course, they didn't have any effect on me whatsoever, but a sudden image of Puma appeared with the same revealing clothes and positions. My face started to heat up rapidly, and I shook the thoughts away, half surprised they were there in the first place.

Software instability^

No malfunction detected.

Perhaps Amanda might have an answer for that.

I appeared to still be standing in front of the sex android, which gave Lieutenant Anderson the wrong idea. "Connor! What the fuck are you doin'? You fuckin' pervert..."

"Dad... Connor isn't a deviant. He's an android. They won't have any effect on him." Her voice sounded a little angry. Somehow I realized her anger was directed towards me, and I wanted to object and tell her what I was really thinking about, but a part of me told me it wouldn't be the brightest idea. When I looked at her, Puma was standing directly at the floor.

"Are you alright, Puma?" I asked before I could stop myself.

"Huh? Oh, yeah." She said quietly, continuing to stare intently at the floor. "I'm fine just... can't believe people would treat androids like this- this- like for human entertainment. It's sick."

I was relieved she wasn't angry at me, but it also made me smile that Puma cared about absolutely everyone, including the people and androids she didn't know. She cared about everyone but herself. I didn't know how to respond so I stayed quiet.

Puma's POV

I went back to staring at the ground, not wanting to move. I was too tired, I just wanted to go home and lay in bed doing nothing. But I could feel Connor watching me as he spoke again.

"You seem embarrassed, as well as angry." He noted. "Are you sure everything is alright?"

"Well, this is a sex club after all. It's not a place where you want to be with your father." I could see Connor starting to open his mouth, so I added. "Even if it is for a case."

Connie gave a nod and we both walked to Ben. "It's in that room over there." He said. "Oh- and... Puma? Gavin is here too."

"Ugh, a dead body and an asshole. This is a great day. Thanks, Ben." I nodded as Connor moved even closer to me. I remembered what he said a while ago.

"Puma, promise me you will be careful. Always stay behind me in cases, okay? I don't want you in the action, no matter how much you don't like that."

I guess I'll try, even if I didn't want to admit it.

"The Andersons and their plastic pet." I heard Gavin as we entered. He won't take a break, won't he? I sighed. "The fuck are you three doing here?"

"We have been assigned cases involving androids," Connor answered, though I believe it was more of a rhetorical question.

"Oh yeah? Well, you're wasting your time. Just uh- just some pervert who got more action than he could handle." Gavin laughed dryly at his own joke.

Dad ignored Gavin and said, "We'll have a look anyway if you don't mind."

"C'mon, let's go," Gavin told Chris. "It's starting to stink of booze in here."

Shouldering Connor on the way out, he turned to me.

"Hey, uh, Puma. How about we go get drinks after. My place?"

I resisted the urge to roll my eyes as I pulled out my latest roast that I created a couple of days ago.

"Wow Reed, I thought you were a detective, it's not legal for you to be contributing to Detroit's Red Ice problem. Because you'd have to be high off your ass to think I could go anywhere with you."

The comment, just like expected, made him mad. Turning to Connor, and back to me, he said.

"Oh- sorry I didn't know you were fucking the android. I thought you were a detective, not good to go against the law."

Now was my turn to get mad. "What the hell is wrong with you?! First off, you know very well that's not true and you're just trying to say something rude, and second Connor has absolutely no relevance to this. So leave him out of it. Why don't you finally just open your little eyes and notice I won't go out with you because you're a dick! You insult my father, push around my friends, insult me, then ask me on a date. I don't know how much brain you have up there but I thought you would be able to put two and two together!"

He backed off, finally taking the hint and left. Turning to Connie and Hank I said awkwardly, "So, uh, the case... The... reason we're here." I pointed to the dead body. Both of them nodded their heads, shaking off the amazed looks on their faces and returned to the investigation. Connor walked towards the body as Dad and I began to look around the scene. I walked over to a deactivated android. She looked pretty. Probably because she was designed that way.

"Woah! Hey, hey, hey! Connor, you're so disgusting... think I'm gonna puke again." Dad said. Connor probably licked the thirium. Even though it was pretty disgusting to watch, Connor was doing his job. But I wouldn't for the life of me lick anything in this room. I'd rather go deviant. I walked over to the human body, leaving the android be. There were bruises along his neck, quite similar to the shape of a hand.

"He was strangled. He didn't die of a heart attack." I said.

"Yeah, I saw the bruising on the neck. It doesn't prove anything though, it could've been rough play." Dad answered. That made me sick for some reason, probably because I finally realized how awkward it was for the two of us to be doing an investigation together.

"We're missing something here." Connor caused me to snap out of my thoughts.

"What if you were to read the android's memory? Could you maybe figure out what happened?" I was glad to have an android with us, it's much easier.

"I can try. The only way to access her memory is to reactivate her."

"Think you can do it?" Dad asked.

"It's badly damaged," Connor said, removing the android's artificial skin. It made me feel a bit uncomfortable for Connor to be touching the android, even if it was for a case.

Jealous? Negativity beat me down. I ignored her.

I faded back to reality as Connor reconnected the biomechanics of the broken android. She shot back to life and backed away, clearly scared.

"You're damaged. I reactivated you." Connor said in short. "Everything is alright."

"Is he... is he dead?" she asked, looking at the victim.

"Tell me what happened." Connor ignored her.

"He started hitting me... again and again."

"Did you kill him?" I asked.

"No, no it wasn't me." The android shook her head.

"Were you alone in the room? Was there anyone else with you?" Connor asked.

"He wanted to play with two girls. That's what he said. There were two of us."

Connor raised his voice with impatience. "Where did the other android go? Did it say anything?"

The LED in the androids temple died out and she became lifeless once again.

"So there was another android." Dad thought out loud. "This happened over an hour ago, it's probably long gone."

Connor considered it for a moment but shook his head. "No... it couldn't go outside dressed like that unnoticed. It might still be here."

"Think you could find a deviant among all the other androids in this place?"

Connor shook his head. "Deviants aren't easily detected."

"Ah, shit..."

"There's got to be another way!" I said. "Maybe an eyewitness? Someone must've seen it try to leave!"

"Let's split up," Dad suggested. "I'll go ask the manager a few questions and you two tell me if you try to find anything," Dad said, walking to the main room. It left Connor and me alone.

"Puma... I started talking earlier before Hank interrupted us-" I knew Connor was trying to see if I was alright, so I abruptly changed the subject, pretending to not hear him.

"Connor!" An idea came to mind as I gave a gasp. "What if an android saw it happen? Would you be able to access its memory?"

Connor gave me a disappointed look as I sighed. "We can discuss whatever you wanted later."

He seemed convinced so he walked over to an android and put a hand on the control panel. "No fingerprint detected."

He turned to me. "Pu-" he cut himself off from finishing my name as if he was afraid of asking. I lifted an eyebrow.

"What's wrong, Connie? Want me to open it for you?"

"Y-yes, but your opinion on androids isn't the brightest so I'll ask Hank to open it instead. He started walking toward my dad, but I grabbed him by his hand, making me slightly since at the pain, and I put my hand on the panel.

"It's fine," I reassured him with a smile. I was glad he thought about my feelings, which isn't something an android would do. But he has been acting rather strange ever since we got here.

Dad spotted us and walked over. "Lia, what the fuck are you doin'?"

"Connor asked me to rent the Traci," I said, then realizing how wrong that sounded. But before I had the chance to open my mouth, Dad looked at Connor.

"For fuck's sake Connor we got better things to do."

I gave another dry snort of laughter before saying, "Dad it's not like that, trust me."

"Not gonna look good on your expenses," Dad grumbled.

"You got any other ideas?" I rolled my eyes as the program announced.

"Purchase confirmed. Eden Club wishes you a pleasant experience."

The glass opened and the android stepped out, stretching out her hand. "Delighted to meet you. Follow me, I'll take you to your room." He gave me a sweet smile.

No thank you. I said to myself, slightly backing away. Connor grabbed her arm and began looking through her memories. After a few seconds, he let go and turned to us. "It saw something."

"What are you talking about? Saw what?" Dad looked at us, confused.

"The deviant leaving the room," Connor stated. "A blue-haired Traci. Club policy is to wipe the android's memory every two hours. We only have a couple of minutes if we want to find another witness!"

This made my blood pump a bit. Finally, a fun case!

"But wait what do I do with her?" I pointed to the Traci, looking a bit confused.

"Tell her you changed your mind." Connor walked over to a make android who was dancing on a pole as I turned to the Traci.

"Oh, well uh... I changed my mind. Sorry. Not that's it's personal or anything but I'm with him..." I pointed to Connor, then facepalmed because of how wrong that sounded. A heavy blush formed on my face as our conversation was starting to get more awkward. "I meant- not like... that... we're on a case... just- uh, sorry again."

"Understood." The Traci smiled and got into the glass container again. I turned to dad, who was giving me a smirk.

"What?" I hissed, returning a glare. It was probably less effective because I was still blushing.

"It saw the blue-haired Traci!" Connor announced to us, breaking the moment. A hint of a smile appeared on his face.

"Awesome! Let's go!"

Connor checked another android on a pile, which I didn't have to pay for, and we headed for the red room. Most of the time, it was just me following Connor. It occurred to me he only picked the ones where I didn't have to pay for them.

When I did have to pay for an android, Dad pulled my arm away and put his in instead, surprising me.

"All this money spent and you're still not having fun..." He muttered.

After a couple of minutes, we were led to the staff room.

There was nothing out of the ordinary while we were walking around as we quickly paced through an empty hallway. Dad pulled out a gun before we walked through.

"Stay behind me." He told us. Connor carefully edged me to stay behind him as well and I have out a silent sigh. Walking in, we noticed the room was a warehouse full of androids. Some were just standing, in groups, waiting to be ready. Some were in pieces, the others were just set on the repair table.

None moved or acted strangely. The garage door was open, and a knot twisted in my stomach. She could have already escaped. I tried to see any signs of damage on the chain-link fence but there was nothing. I walked in, suddenly feeling angry all over again.

"They get used until they break and then they're tossed out. It's horrible. People are insane. They don't want a relationship anymore, they just get an android. They cook when you want, screw when you want, you don't have to worry about their feelings..."

"Yeah. And soon the human race is gonna be extinct because everyone would rather love a piece of plastic than another human being." Dad added, making me feel slightly better.

Walking over to Connor, I only found him licking thirium again. I suppressed the urge to vomit. "Found anything?" I said weakly.

"The blue-haired Traci is damaged, but it's still here. It must be hiding among these ones." He said, walking to a cluster of Traci's. I nodded, but before we could do anything, a Traci ripped from the crowd of androids and bolted toward Connor. Her arm cracked against my shoulder, throwing me off balance and causing me to land on my arm. I gave a small cry of pain but stood up again. I hoped my arms wouldn't start bleeding again. Hesitating for a moment, I saw Connor roll across the warehouse and hit his head on the ground. Another Traci jumped into me, it was a short brown-haired one. I started fighting her off as Dad ran over to help me. She ducked from Dad's bullet and rammed him against the wall, sending him across the warehouse as well. The brown-haired Traci really he'd for something and almost rammed a screwdriver straight through my skull, but I, despite the pain it was going to cause me, extended my forearms out in a cross, facing my palms toward her. This caused her hands to smash into mine as I pulled out to cause my possible death by screwdriver. Someone pushed the Traci off me moments later, and I saw Connor lifting me up as the deviants ran for the open garage door. Then, the most peculiar thing happened. They took each other's hands and ran for the chain-link fence.

They were in love.

Connor's POV

I wasn't going to give up just because they were holding hands. I leaped up and pulled the blue-haired Traci down. The other jumped down with her, and I knew the two were going to fight until their last breath.

I swept down to Puma and took the gun out of her belt, and put my finger on the trigger that was perfectly aimed, ready to fire. Ready to kill them.

Something made me glance over at Puma. She was shaking her head and pleading for me not to shoot. Making the decision for myself, I lowered Puma's gun, earning a kick to the face, causing me to stumble back.

"When the man, broke the other Traci, I knew I was next. I was so scared. I begged him to stop, but he wouldn't. And so I put my hands around his throat, and I squeezed. Until he stopped moving. I didn't mean to kill him, I just wanted to stay alive." The other Traci held her hand out and they grabbed into each other. "To get back to the one I love. I wanted her to hold me in her arms again, and make me forget about the humans. Their smell of sweat and their dirty words."

Puma nodded slightly.

"Come on, let's go." The other Traci said. They both climbed the fence, and neither of us made further attempts to stop them now.

Lieutenant Anderson looked at me with a smile. "It's probably better than way."

Puma gave me a grateful smile. "Yeah. Let's go."

Puma: companion^^

Hank: friend^^

A/N: wooow a great chapter. By far the best insult Puma has ever shot down on Gavin. I'm proud of my depressed girl. I'm also proud because I made the insult up myself and I'm usually pretty bad at those. Anyway, see you in the next chapter (so in a couple of days). Baiii!

It's a Lolbit Show
