[2] The Letter

"Kacchan!"

The sound of your voice made him turn in your direction. He looked more aggravated than ever. "What are you d—"

"Why have you been so distant? I mean, I know we've been out of touch for years. But you've been acting rather mean!"

He slid his hands in his pocket before letting out a scoff. "I don't remember a thing about our so-called friendship. And why would I want to hang out with someone like you? Your quirk is as useless as that bush-headed nerd."

You countered with, "Says you. Your hair looks like an electrocuted cat."

"I have more important things to do with my time than talk to you." Kacchan growled and turned off—leaving you in the middle of the lonesome street.

"CALL ME, LATER WE CAN GO SKIRT SHOPPING!!" you sarcastically ended.

With that being said, you went back home. All you had to do now was worry for an entire week about your results. You didn't set your expectations that high—since you weren't as elite as some of the other kids. But hey, you never know.

For now, you stayed in your room. Your mind was mainly on Kacchan. You just didn't understand why he was being so rude to you. If anything, he should have been happy! You replayed all the memories in your head before he abandoned the friendship—and you weren't able to find a reason for why he's been acting so aloof lately.

So, you decided to write out all the possibilities in your trusty diary.

Perhaps he already has a girlfriend and he's uncomfortable talking to other girls? No, he'd probably mention that he did, just to rub it in my face. But what if he's just intimidated by me? I mean, I am drop dead gorgeous—GAH!

Your thoughts were interrupted by a sudden tap on your window. It scared the living daylights out of you. Someone must have thrown something at it to catch your attention. So, you got up and examined the backyard. There, stood your creepy neighbor, Mineta.

"What the heck do you want, ya weirdo?" you asked him from the second story of your house.

"My parents are going on another three-month business trip. So, I was wondering if you wanna come over and chill. We could crack open some grape juice and watch the Bee Movie, baby."

"Aww!" you placed a dramatic hand on your cheek, causing him to reveal a sly grin. "You wait right there, I just need to get something real quick!"

"Alright, cupcake~" He took out a tube of breath repellant and spritzed it in his mouth once.

Coming back, you screeched, "TAKE THIS, YA PIECE OF TRASH!" You whipped out a BB gun and started shooting in his direction. He screamed so loud, it made car alarms go off. However, the perv managed to escape by crawling into the next home's yard. But what he didn't know was, they had a rabid Pitbull.

"Now, where was I?" You perkily hopped onto your bed and resumed writing in your cutely accessorized diary. For the rest of the evening, that's all you did. Daydream about wholesome scenarios with you and your crush.

A week passed. Your results for the U.A Entrance Exam would arrive today. You stood at the door, impatiently waiting for the mailman. Once he came, he didn't even have to hand it to you—because you practically stole it from him.

"WHAT DOES IT SAY!? WHAT DOES IT SAY!?" your mom repeated over and over as she shook your arm from the anxiety.

"HUSH, WOMAN! I'M TRYING TO READ IT!" You squinted at the fine print, and read, "Dear, (Y/N) (L/N). We're happy to inform you that. . .your quirk will provide much use in many different ways. And with a bit of help and training, you'll excel academically. So. . .YOU'RE ACCEPTED INTO U.A HIGH SCHOOL!!!"

"OH, MY GOSH!!!" Your mom pulled you into a tight hug, practically screaming in your ear. "CONGRATULATIONS!!!"

You shook like a chihuahua with PTSD. "I CAN FINALLY GET A BOYFRIEND!"

"I CAN FINALLY PURSUE MY DREAM OF BECOMING A MODEL!"

You turned to her. "Mom, we both know that's not happening. I have a higher chance at becoming a hero than that happening."

"HUSH, INFANT."

"OH MY GOSH." You remembered. "I GOTTA TELL KACCHAN AND MY FRIENDS! BYE, MOM!" You ran out the door, slamming it on your way out.

"Uh, bye?"

On the way out, you passed several pedestrians who were startled by your frantic running. After a few minutes, you reached Izuku's house. Surprisingly, Ochako was already there.

"(Y/N)!!" she beamed.

You smiled delightfully. "HI! GUESS WHO GOT INTO U.A~?" You held up the acceptance letter, waving it in a boastful manner.

"AHHH! I GOT IN TOO! CONGRATULATIONS!!" Ochako's grin was so wide, it could have a zip code. That's when Izuku approached you too.

"I—I can't believe I'm going to U.A!" he stammered, obviously shaken with excitement.

"It's amazing how all three of us are going. We'll have such a fun time together as friends!" Ochako pulled you both in for a hug, causing a slight titter to erupt.

"I guess hard work does pay off, eh?" you commented.

"Mhm."

Oh! You almost forgot about Kacchan. "Be right back, there's someone else I need to tell." You sprinted away with a giggle.

Dashing down the sunlit neighborhood, you spotted Kacchan—leaning against the frame of his polished fence, just beginning to place his letter back into its packet. He had a smirk on his face, excited yet cool. He must've been confident he was going to get in, because his joy was suppressed.

And of course, you had to disrupt that.

"KACCHANNNN!!" you sprung into his arms—causing him to almost fall back and scream.

"WHAT THE—WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE FOR TRESPASSING AND ASSAULTING!?"

With a twitter, you spoke, "Oh, Kacchan~! You'll never believed what happened."

He jolted back before hesitantly responding, ". . .What—"

"I. . ." You closed your eyes in a thoughtful—yet cute—mannerism. Opening them, you squealed, "GOT ACCEPTED INTO U.A!"

". . ."

"So, that means we can be together. . .FOR THE NEXT FOUR YEARS!!!!" Complete jubilation had now taken over your body. You couldn't help but tremble with eagerness for your future with your two new friends and Kacchan.

". . ." After a few seconds, he expressed, "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" Before scurrying back into his house, and locking all the doors (and windows).

Haha, he's just so shy~
