~Y/n pov~

It had been a few months and we had all gone our separate ways.

Tanjiro went to go and get his sword fixed. Inosuke just disappeared.

I went on missions with Zenitsu although he was scared the whole time.

"Welcome."

I blinked a few times, thinking I was seeing things.

Nezuko was talking?

"Hey, Nezuko." I smiled.

She grinned and jumped into my arms, hugging me tightly.

I gently patted her head as she pulled away from the hug.

"Are you okay, Tanjiro?" I asked because he looked injured.

He nodded, "I will be."

Inosuke ran over to Nezuko and tried to get her to remember his name.

I noticed Zenitsu off to the side, looking sad.

"Zenitsu." I gently placed my hand on his.

He jumped and turned to face me.

He must be really out of it if he couldn't hear me coming.

"You okay?"

Zenitsu nodded and rested his head on my shoulder, yawning.

"Tired?"

"Yeah. Sorry." He apologised.

I shook my head, "It's fine."

I lifted him up and balanced him on my hip, one of my arms wrapped securely around his waist.

He wrapped his arms around my neck and his legs around my waist, resting his head on my shoulder.

My hand gently ran through his hair to lull him to sleep.

I walked out of the room and entered an empty one, placing Zenitsu down on the bed.

I pulled my shoes off and then pulled Zenitsu's shoes off, putting them on a neat pile on the floor.

Then, I crawled into the other side of the bed.

Zenitsu immediately shuffled towards me and wrapped his arms around my waist, burying his face into my chest.

I wrapped my arms around him and rested my head on his before falling into a peaceful sleep.

Tanjiro told me about the recent events and how Nezuko had conquered the sun.

That must mean Muzan is after her though. He wants the power to conquer the sun.

The demons hadn't been appearing recently. Were they preparing for some big attack or something ?

The pillars were also training everyone lower ranked.

I didn't know the reason but it must be in preparation.

"I'm so tired." Zenitsu complained, dropping to the floor.

I sighed and knelt beside him, "Yeah, me too. Let's take a break."

I pulled him up and sat him against the rock.

Tanjiro had recovered and was also starting the pillar training.

I kept waiting behind for Zenitsu. I wouldn't be surprised if Tanjiro caught up to us.

He's strong and determined.

I handed Zenitsu some water.

"Thanks." He huffed leaning against the rock.

He let him head fall onto my shoulder.

"I love you." He murmured.

I smiled, "Love you too."

All the trainings differed from each other but each was training different strengths.

Some seemed a bit stupid but they would definitely help.

I was right about Tanjiro catching up with us.

We were all currently pushing boulders.

"I can't do this." Zenitsu slumped down.

"Sure you can. You can do this because I believe in you."

The boy smiled weakly at me before continuing the training with a new determination.

Finally, the hellish training had come to an end. It was like the calm before the storm.

I just knew something big was about to happen.

A/n because the main focus of Demon slayer is Tanjiro and Nezuko my chapters are just getting shorter and shorter lol. However, the end of the story is near as the final battle approaches.
