****Bella's P.O.V.****
Remus Lupin is my father.
And apparently, the laws of magic say werewolf + moon fairy = mermaid. My mother was kidnapped in Malfoy Manor for umpteen years, and my father happens to be a man I've known since third year, who gave me countless detentions. This is just fantastic.
A thought struck me. "Hey, Mum, I guess? What happened during your transformations in the Manor?"
She stiffened. "Most of the time it was just me, but I didn't get to keep my mind. On good moons, they'd just leave me alone to hurt myself. On bad moons, they'd throw another person in there with me. I-I couldn't control it. Sometimes I would wake up in the dungeon with a dead body next to me."
"Oh, Jo. I'm so sorry. Th-they told us you were dead." My . . . dad asked.
"Why d'you call her Jo?" I asked, sitting on the table. Mum just smiled and shook her head.
"Long story. You'd be surprised." He chuckled.
"You know, Bella, you have your uncle's eyes." She smiled again, gazing softly at Sirius.
"Who-?"
She nodded her head towards Sirius. "That idiot."
I screamed. "Wait, so you're telling me that I'm related to two Marauders, by blood?!"
She beamed. "Not only that, but also one Outlaw through blood, and another through marriage."
"Wait the Outlaws?! As in the single best pranking group in Hogwarts history? You're one of them?!" I was beaming. "Please, can I tell Fred and George?!"
Without waiting for an answer, I bolted out of the room, screaming for the two at the too of my lungs.
"What, woman, what do you want?!"
"I just discovered something amazing, and you have to see it, and eeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" I dragged them into the kitchen by their wrists.
"Okay Fred, George, don't freak out, but two of the Marauders, and an Outlaw, are in this room." I smiled.
"What?!"
"Who are they?"
"Which ones?!"
"Hey, hey, hey!" I shouted.
They looked at me. "What?"
"Shut up. And I'll let them introduce themselves."
"Well, first of all, I'd like to say I'm disappointed in you." Sirius paused, looking at me with a completely straight face. "The Marauders are totally better!" His face morphed into a smile. "I'm Padfoot."
"Wait, as in the Padfoot, legendary prankster, player, and power of the Marauders?!" George interrupted.
"Yes, and he was only half of the best pranking partnership in the school." Mum hit Lu-Dad's arm. "Hey! You, Lily, and Amara weren't partners, there were three of you. Aside from the violence, I'm Moony."
"And I'm Belle." Mum stated, rather bluntly.
"Wait, then who're Prongs, Jasmine, and Ariel?" The twins chorused.
"Prongs was - scratch that, is - Harry's dad, James Potter. Jasmine is Amara Jones, Sarah's mum and Sirius' wife. Ariel is Lily Potter, Harry's mum." Dad was smiling softly to himself, like he was remembering something.
"Cool! We already know who Wormtail is because Ron slept with him." George shrugged. Mum looked at us weird.
I rolled my eyes. "He was in his rat form, and Ron thought he was his pet."
"Yeah, that makes more sense."

I felt another immense pain in my head.
"Lily, why is this happening? I thought you couldn't feel pain when you're dead." I groaned.
"You can't. None of us here are truly dead, not yet. You see, Amara is still alive because Sirius hasn't truly accepted her death yet. Neither him or Remus, or Bella's mum - you don't know her - have accepted James and I's death."
"So I'm just going to sit here until - wait. Does this mean I can to back? Back to Sarah, back to Hermione, Ron, and Hannah? Back to Harry?" I gasped.
"Actually, it might," she poked her head out the door of her small white house, "JAMES! GET IN HERE!"
"What, Lil?"
"I think we have an idea."
****Harry's P.O.V.****
It was Halloween. The day my parents died. The day Lyra always used to sing. The day she wouldn't be performing this year. Sarah, Hermione, and Hannah are, though, just one song as a tribute to her.
They climbed on stage - the staff table area without the staff table - clad in variations of black. Sarah was the first to begin.
"Sarah: The weight, of a simple human emotion weighs me down, more than a tank ever did
Hermione: The pain. Its determined and demanding to ache
All: But I'm okay. And I don't wanna let this go, I don't wanna lose control, I just wanna see the stars with you
Hannah: And I don't wanna say goodbye, someone tell me why, I just wanna see the stars with you
Sarah: You lost a part of your existence in the war against yourself
Hermione: Oh, the light. They light up and lights ascends, telling you, it's time to go
Hannah: And I don't wanna let this go, I don't wanna lose control, I just wanna see the stars with you.
Sarah: And I don't wanna say goodbye, someone tell me why, I just wanna see the stars with you
All: Don't give it up just yet, stay grand for one more minute, don't give it up just yet, stay grand
Sarah and Hermione: Oh, don't give it up just yet, stay grand for one more minute, don't give it up just yet, stay grand (×2, second with Sarah and Hannah)
All: And I don't wanna let this go, I don't wanna lose control, I just wanna see the stars with you. And I don't wanna say goodbye, someone tell me why, I just wanna see the stars with you
All: With you."
Half of the hall was crying now, mostly Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors. The Ravenclaws didn't know her well, and the Slytherins who did masked their emotions with a blank face. Umbridge was fuming, but no one noticed. I was honestly surprised she let it to this far, seeing as how she forced first years to carve words into their own skin with a blood quill.
I walked back to the common room with Ron, neither of us speaking. With a muffled sigh, I flopped face first on my pillow, thinking over tomorrow's DA lesson.
****Lyra's P.O.V.****
Lily, James, Amara and I have been in the library - I didn't know it was there, either - for hours, searching up anything that might help. We decided to call it a night after a small while more of searching.
*
The next morning, I walked into the small den of the house to see what Harry and the others were up to. I took out my wand and tapped the bowl three times.
Even though there's not really a day or night here, we still live like there is. Harry's day and night didn't exactly match up with ours, so it was around three o'clock in the afternoon there. Harry was currently escorting students out of the DA room two-by-two.
Hermione and Ron were one of the last to leave. Ron looked at something behind Harry, something I couldn't see, and winked. Hermione just shook her head. When Harry did turn around, I was able to see what the something was.
It was Cho Chang.
She was staring at a mirror that had my picture taped to it, crying, although she had no reason to. We had only spoken once, and it was her demanding I stay away from Harry. She really didn't know me.
Harry, however, didn't seem to realise her tears were fake, and being the sympathetic person he is, went to comfort her.
He stepped up to her. "I didn't know you two knew each other well?"
"Yes, not many people did. We were the best of friends until Marietta pushed me onto you, and she got the wrong idea."
I felt my hands catch fire as she said this. We were never acquaintances, let alone 'the best of friends'.
"You alright, dear?" Lily asked, rubbing her sleepy emerald eyes.
"Not really."
"What's wrong with Lyra?" James asked, wrapping his arms around his wife. He caught a look in the bowl and his hazel eyes widened. "Oh, uh, Lyra, how about you go talk to your aunt?"
"No, you're hiding something. What's is it? Let me see!" I pulled at his arm. My anger got the best of me, and my hands lit up. Of course, it didn't hurt him, just gave him a scare. He jumped away, and I was able to see into the bowl.
It was the all-to-familiar sight of Harry and Cho, kissing. She had fake tears running down her tan cheeks, but that isn't what got to me most. It was the fact that I could see Harry smiling into it.
All of a sudden, I felt a burning pain on my collarbone. I let out a bloodcurling screech, drawing the attention of Aunt Amara, who came bursting in.
"Lil, what's happening?" She screamed.
But I never got a chance to hear her response. I felt myself fading away.
****Hannah's P.O.V.****
I smiled to myself, opening a new book. I was in the library, studying with Neville. He was tutoring me in Herbology.
I smiled triumphantly. "Done!"
"Good job, Han. Four feet of parchment on the properties of Floo." He smiled back at me. We had left the DA meeting early last week, neither of us wanting to skip a session, especially with O.W.L.S. this year. We had been studying everyday after that. I looked down at my bright yellow muggle watch, and hopped up.
I stood up, muttering a quick 'goodbye' before leaving him alone. If Lyra were here, she'd tease me mercilessly. I sighed. If.
I turned a corner into the courtyard, and looked at her gravesite sadly. I thought I saw it move, but that was just me hallucinating. I know I'll never see her again.
****Lyra's P.O.V.****
My grey eyes shot open, and the pain on my collarbone slowly decreased. As I attempted to look down, I discovered I couldn't move, and began to panic.
I was in a coffin, I knew that much. And coffins are sealed. I also knew that I would like to keep breathing this time, so I slowed my breathing. I felt around me in the limited space I had, and discovered my wand in a matter of minutes.
"Bombarda Maxima!" My voice came out scratchy and rough, like so hadn't used it in a while.
The coffin lid exploded open, covering me in pounds of dirt. Thinking quickly, I wingardum leviosa-d it off of me, allowing me to breath. I continued levitating dirt out of the way, creating a horizontal tunnel under the dirt. Knowing I might need to use this as a safe place later, I placed and undetectable extension charm on the coffin, and another that allowed it to be unbreakable.
I kept doing this, tunneling through the dirt, using magic to keep it from crushing me. After about an out of this, I finally hit something hard. Whispering the spell, I flicked my wand and the ground and it separated for me. Thankfully, it was in Dumbledore's office, so no one was really there to see me.
"Who in Merlin's name are you?" McGonagall's voice startled me.
"P-professor, I need to talk to the headmaster."
At that moment, the man himself entered. "Miss Black? Would you mind coming with me for a moment?" I nodded and followed him out. I kept my head down, letting my dirt-covered blonde hair sheild me from their judging glances and disgusted voices on the way to the potions room.
"Severus, if I may interrupt your class, I am in need of Veritaserum." The Potions Master nodded.
"Class dismissed." He paused, "Mr. Potter, I said class dismissed!" I tensed as I heard a pair of feet rush by me.
"Thank you, Severus." Dumbledore said after a pregnant silence. He then turned to me and handed me a vial of clear liquid. I gulped it down quickly.
"Name?"
"Lyra Rose Black."
"Parents?"
"Naomi Morgans and Regulus Black."
"Year?"
"Now fifth, Professor."
"House?"
"Tri-house, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin."
"Something only Lyra Black would know."
"I'm the first existing female Spotter, which I discovered in your office, Professor, on November twenty-seventh, the day after the first dance I attended at Hogwarts. I came with Harry, and you said, and I quote, 'This is a bit . . . confidential. Is it okay for Mr. Potter to be here?'"
Dumbledore nodded. "Very good."
"Professor, why am I back?" I asked, "I died. I was dead. I've heard of miracles, but this seems a bit extreme."
He shook his head. "I'm afraid I cannot tell you that. What I can tell you is you will be returning to your year with your classmates after Holiday Break. You will find your supplies and trunk have been magicked up to your dorm. Good day, Miss Black."
I walked down the corridor to the Hufflepuff common rooms, because that's where my actual dorm was. My hair was still covering my face, and I knew the first thing I was going to do was take a shower. I avoided showing my face to anyone, making sure I was well hidden.
*
Later that day, I was called back to Dumbledore's office and re-sorted again. I was placed in Gryffindor. Just Gryffindor. He agreed to let me try to blend in as a normal student until people recognised me, then he would announce that I'm back. No big 'I'm back' ceremony, just an announcement.
I was back, but I had left a piece of me behind.
