****Lyra's P.O.V.****
"I am Nataly Morgans." She smiled at me.
"Hello Nataly! I'm Ginny. What year are you in?" Ginny chirped, walking down the stairs.
"Second, you?"
"I'm third, but Ginny is second. She can show you around, I have to get breakfast." I smiled at her.
"Hey, Ly, wait up!" Sarah, Hermione, Ron, and Harry came running down to meet me.
"Hey guys. This is Nataly. Nataly, this is Harry, Hermione, Sarah, and Ron." I said, pointing to each of them in turn.
"Hello, Hermione, Ron, Sarah. H-hi Harry." She smiled shyly at Harry.
"Well, we have to go to breakfast. I'll take you to the office. Hermione, Ron, Sarah, wanna come with?" Ginny smirked at me, and I could tell what she was doing.
"That girl scares me." Harry announced as the other five walked away.
I felt relief flood over me as he said that. "Same. The smile was straight from my nightmares. She may look nice, but I've seen horror films. The one that looks the most innocent is always the killer." (No offense, Nataly V.)
He laughed lightly at first then walked ahead, freezing as he reached the doors. "Ly, we have to pack! Merlin, I forgot Sirius was picking us up today!"
"You're right! Wait. . . we?"
"Yeah, Sarah invited me. Didn't she tell you?"
I growled a bit. Sarah, I hate you. "No, actually, she didn't. I thought Hermione was coming?"
"Oh, she is. She said they made arrangements with Dumbledore."
"Cool. Let's go!" I giggled, grabbing his wrist and dragging him down the corridor.
I ran up the stairs and packed, my clothes, books, quills, uniform, cauldron, etc. Basically my entire room. I called Harry, who was sitting on the couch, over.
"Step on the bottom step."
"Bu-"
"I can't be bothered to drag my stuff downstairs, just step!" I said, waving my arms around lime a madman.
He shrugged and stepped forward. The steps almost instantaneously became a slide, and my trunk almost instantaneously fell down the stairs. Fun. Me being me, I fell down the slide face first.
I closed my eyes, knowing what was coming, but instead of hitting one of the corners of the trunk, I hit a soft wall. With arms. I looked up to see myself in Harry's arms, and blushed.
"S-sorry, Harry." I blushed, and went to get up, but caught his eye. I drifted off into my own world, lost in his emerald eyes.
Before I could process what was happening, our lips met. It was like one of those cliché movie scenes, where you can practically see the butterflies in the girl's stomach, and the sound effects in the background playing their hearts, beating out of their chests.
And in this cliché, I could almost see the cheesy fireworks- wait, that was a camera. I broke away to see two girls, one with frizzy hair, one with blonde hair.
"HERMIONE JEAN GRANGER AND HANNAH ALICE ABOTT, YOU ARE SO DEAD!" I ran after them, smiling a bit at Harry.
I could feel fire flowing over me, and people cleared the way for me (obviously, I was on fire). Sarah caught up to them, got a look at the picture, and grabbed their wrists, using her Shadow to hide them. I smirked.
"Sar, you know that all Spotters can see Shadow, right?"
"RUN!"
"Wingardum Leviosa!" I cast the charm, it splitting into three rays. I lifted them up and saw my uncle, smirking at me. I mirrored his actions, dropping Sarah into his arms. Thinking for a moment, I called Ron and Neville over. They didn't see either of the girls, so I motioned for them to hold their arms out. I non-verbally casted the counter charm, causing them to fall into their arms.
I looked over to see Uncle laughing at something Sarah said. He unsuspectingly pushed her towards Lee, so at one time, Hermione was in Ron's arms, Hannah in Neville's, and Sarah and Lee's. They were all frozen, staring into each other's eyes.
I gave Uncle a muggle camera, which he already knew how to operate, and ran out to be in the picture. On the way, I ran into Harry, and completely cliché-ly, he caught me just as the camera went off.
Uncle looked grumpy, and was glaring at Harry. I shot a questioning look at Hermione, who just smirked at me.
"Uncle?"
"What?" He grumbled
"You okay?" He nodded, but grabbed Lee and Harry's wrist and dragged him away.
"Unc-" I started, but he gave me a death glare, so I shut up.
Harry came back looking a little less flustered, but Lee looked terrified. Sarah and I each ran over to Lee/Harry to see if they were okay.
"Harry, are you okay, what happened?"
"H-he saw the picture, Ly. Hermione showed him. . ." the wind began to whirl around us as the ground shook. I grabbed Uncle and Hermione by the ear and dragged them to another room.
After putting a silencing charm on the now closed door, I turned towards them. "Uncle, please don't get mad at Harry when he's been in my life longer than you have. Yes, I am aware that it wasn't your fault, but that doesn't change the facts. Mkay?" He nodded, "good. Now leave." He walked out like a lost puppy.
"Hermione, you have NO right to take pictures like that of me, or have you forgot about what happened at the Burrow?" I smiled innocently at her as she went pale.
Flashback:
I was walking towards the fifth floor bathroom at, like, 5:00 in the morning, because, well, just 'cause. I walked around Ron's open door, but froze when I hear someone muttering something, and that someone wasn't Ron.
I looked in to see Hermione, hair wet, and in a towel on the floor on top of Ron, repeatedly muttering apologies. Smirking, I ran back to my room and grabbed my camera. I took the picture and subtly ran away.
Flashback over.
"Y-you saw that. Crapcrapcrap, you saw that?!"
"Oh, sweetie, I did more that just see it. I caught it on camera."
"Okayokayokay, I'll never do that again, just please don't tell anyone about that!"
"Deal." I shook her hand smirking. Walking out of the room, nobody could understand why I was so happy and Hermione was so scared.
"Er. . . okay. Let's go. . ." uncle was still looking at us strangely.
We apparated away to a random apartment complex, numbers 11 and 13 right next to each other.
"Dad, you said you lived in number 12 Grimmauld Place." As soon as Sarah finished her sentence a crack opened up in between the two buildings, and a small doorway appeared.
"Awesome." Harry, Sarah, Hannah, and I chorused. Hermione scoffed at us, and Uncle just laughed. We walked in, and the house was huge.
"Mkay, kids, go pick your room. You can all share if you want, but this house is big enough for each of you to have your own. Er. . . I'm gonna go make lunch. . ." Uncle announced awkwardly.
"I think that the girls should split two rooms, and Harry can just. . . pick whichever room he wants, wherever." We all nodded at this, so i ran up to the room I wanted.
It was on the fifth floor, second door to the right, same as I'm in at the Burrow. Taking in a breath, I twisted the knob, and gasped. The room looked like it was made for me. One wall was green and silver, another gold and red, and another black and yellow. The final wall could've been any color, but you couldn't see it, there was a floor to ceiling bookshelf, packed full.
"M-mistress. Excuse Kreacher, but are you daughter to young Master Black?" An old house elf walked into my room, freezing in the doorway.
"Hello Kreacher. And yes, I am, but you can call my Lyra."
We were interrupted by a loud screech. "MUDBLOODS AND BLOOD TRAITORS! IN MY HOUSE! FILTHY SCUM!" She continued to scream like this as I ran downstairs to see Uncle trying to close a painting's curtains.
"Uncle, what's wrong?!"
The lady stopped, mid-screech, and turned to look at me. "U-uncle? This man, disgrace, is your uncle? But that would mean. . . but no, that's impossible. . ."
"Yes, Miss, I am Regulas' daughter. My name is Lyra."
"Hello, dear, I'm his father, or your grandmum." She smiled warmly at me.
"Grandmum? Why were you screaming about blood traitors and such?"
"Well, Mum here believes that if you're not a pureblood, you're a disgrace." Uncle rolled his eyes and left the room.
"Grandmum? I mean, I'm a pureblood, but one of my best friends is a muggleborn, and my cr- other best friend is a halfbood. Your own niece is a halfblood Slytherin."
"Your uncle over exaggerated. I don't think they're scum, I was forced into this life by my husband. I've become so in the habit, I lost myself. Now what's this about your 'cr- other best' friend." She smirked at me.
"What is that, Uncle? You need help serving dinner? Coming!" I yelled.
I quickly ran downstairs, pretending not to hear her calling after me. We fixed dinner together, making spaghetti.
"SARAH, 'MIONE, HARRY, HANNAH, DINNER!" My uncle was less mature than I was.
"So. . . Harry, what's going on between you and Lyra?" Uncle asked once we had sat down. Harry and I groaned simultaneously, banging our headed on the table.
"Haven't we been interrogated enough?" We chorused.
"Ly, we caught you two snogging on the stairs. No, you haven't been interrogated enough." Hermione smirked at us.
"I fell, he caught me, shut up." I smiled sarcastically at her. "Anyways, where are your all's rooms at?"
"Fifth floor, first on the left." Sarah said.
"Fifth, first on the right." Hermione and Hannah chorused.
"Fifth floor, second on the left." Harry smiled at us.
*
The past month has been really fun. Ron's coming today, along with Lee and the twins. School starts in a month, and every time Harry and I have a moment alone, Uncle comes in and ruins it.
"ELLO FAMILY! I'M HOME!" Fred and George came in, followed by and extra happy Lee.
"I broke up with Angelina." He smiled smugly. Sarah looked ultimately ecstatic, as she was terrible at hiding her emotions.
We led the boys up to their rooms. Ron was sharing with Harry, and Fred, George, and Lee had their own room, far away from ours.
Uncle told us he was going out tonight, and he left Hermione and I to cook them dinner, as we were the only responsible people in the house that knew how work muggle appliances.
We decided to cook a large bowl of potato-bacon soup with garlic bread rolls. Hermione made the rolls, and I started on the soup. Humming to myself, I set the timer for ten minutes and let the soup simmer.
Ten minutes later, the timer went off, signalling that the soup was done. Hermione grabbed her bread rolls and we set the table for nine, knowing Uncle wouldn't be back anytime soon.
Hermione and I smirked at each other, and screamed, in sync, at the top of our lungs. Not only did Sarah, Hannah, Harry, Ron, Fred, George, and Lee come running downstairs, but Grandmum began screaming with us. Not about anything blood traitor related, or even words, just screaming.
"What happened?!" Harry and Ron looked panicked.
"Dinner's ready." We chorused in almost identical sing-song voices.
The boys all groaned, while Sarah and Hannah rolled their eyes. We laughed, and everyone sat down to dinner. Fred and George looked at us both with identical smirks.
"You would be great wives to whoever you marry." Fred smirked
"Yeah, I can see it now." Both boys held their hands up as if to show something.
"Mrs. Lyra Potter and Mrs. Hermione Weasley." They chorused.
Hermione and I both started choking on our food, literally. Harry immediately stood up and started squeezing my stomach from the back and, Ron did the same to Hermione.
Right at that moment, Uncle came back inside to see Harry's arms wrapped around me, and he freaked. I created a thin ring of water that he couldn't get through to kill anyone.
"Uncle, I was choking. Don't kill anyone." I explained cautiously. He just grumbled and walked away.
I sighed. "Sorry, Harry. Well, I'm going to bed, night!" I gave them a fake cheery smile and walked up to my room. Curling up in a ball on my bed, I just sat there for about ten minutes until I heard a knock on my door.
"Go away, Uncle." My voice was muffled by my pillow.
"Ly, you okay?" I heard Harry's voice ask.
"H-Harry? Yeah, I'm fine." I sniffled a bit. He looked at me concerned and walked into the room, holding out his arms.
I collapsed into him, crying into his emerald green shirt. "D-do you know what it's like to have your uncle hate your best friend?"
"Ly, my uncle hates all of my friends."
"Oh! S-sorry, Harry. I just forgot. I mean, Uncle loves Hannah and 'Mione. And all of the Weasleys. I don't get it. He doesn't like you at all, or Lee, for that matter."
"It's okay. He'll come around, Ly. He's just upset that he missed out on thirteen years of your life, so he's going to be a bit protective. Why it's more against me and Lee than Fred, George, or Ron, I don't know. I do know that we'll always be friends, and your uncle will get over it in the end." He looked at me.
I looked up from my feet at him to see true sincerity in his eyes. The same way it happened on the stairs, we were kissing, me snuggled into his chest, his arms around me.
We just sat like until we broke apart, and even then a little while longer. I felt my eyes fluttering closed, so I laid my head back on his chest and fell asleep.
*
The next morning, I woke up from a fantastic sleep. I attempted to get up and stretch, but there was something holding me back. I looked down to see a green t-shirt clad arm around my waist.
Blushing, I shook his arm a bit to wake him up.
"Wazgoinon?"
"Harry, I need to get up." I whispered softly.
"O-kay?" I paused and just stared at him for a moment, one eyebrow raised until his eyes widene in e realisation. "Oh, okay." He released his hold on me, and I walked over to my muggle calendar.
"Crap, Harry, we have to go to Diagon Alley today! I ushered him out of my room, took a quick shower, and got dressed.
Grabbing my bag, I hopped into the living room and disapparated with Uncle.
*
"Bye, Uncle!" I called to him, hopping on the train.
Today was the first day of school, and everybody kept dropping hints about something big happening this year.
We all, with the exception of Sarah, who had gone to sit with Lee and the twins, were talking in our compartment. I still haven't told anyone about the night after I fought with Uncle, and I don't intend to.
"So, Ly, what's up with you and Harry?" Hannah smirked at me while the boys were changing into their robes.
"What about us?"
"What happened after you fought with your uncle?"
"I don't know what you're talking about." I finished putting on my robes and plugged in my muggle headphones, which would work until we were officially at Hogwarts.
Slowly but surely, I fell asleep to the music.
A/N: Told you you'd love this chapter, Nataly! Sorry, she doubted me. Comment what you thought!
