• Her Pure Heart •
"What is that for?" Hux asked as Amphitrite scooped up a handful of water from the sink in her room. "You will see." She said as she walked back over to him, cupping the cool water in her hands. "I need you to roll up your sleeve please." She told him. Hux moved to roll up the blood soaked torn fabric up his arm as his confused blue green eyes watched her. "Just... trust me, okay?" She told him and he nodded to her. She outstretched her fingers and the water immediately floated above her palm. "How are you-" "shush." Amphitrite told him calmly. The water moved so it was hovering over his wound, a nasty deep wound at that. The skin was swollen and red. Blood was smeared all around it and if Amphitrite didn't do something soon it would only get worse. Hux watched her in wonder as the cool water rested just above his skin. Then Amphitrite moved her hand over his wound and the water. A cool sensation over took the wound, it felt as if his whole arm was being submerged in a snow bank. He lost all feeling in his arm and he was completely awe struck by what the girl was doing to him. When she took her hand away the water was gone and so was the wound. He looked at her and then at his forearm. He wanted to ask her how she could do that, how she had such odd powers, and what happened for her to figure out she had this strange gift. But all he could muster out was one word as he looked at her with strained and confused eyes, "Why?" Amphitrite looked up at him, a small twinkle in her eyes. "Why?" She repeated his question with a small smile. "Because you were hurt, General. I couldn't just do nothing." He still looked completely and utterly confused at her. "But you said yourself that you could tell I wasn't too fond of you." Hux countered and Amphitrite chuckled softly. "I don't care how you feel about me. You were hurt and I knew I could help so I did." Hux was so stunned by the girl's actions. This was what kindness was, wasnt it? No one had ever shown him such a thing... kindness and generosity were a concept lost on the General. "I don't know what to say." He said, stunned beyond belief by the selflessness displayed by Amphitrite. "A thank you would be nice." She finally told him. "Right, thank you..." he said, visibly flustered and shocked. "You're welcome." "My father never taught me how to accept help." Hux told her. "He never really taught me anything... besides.. well..." Amphitrite put a hand on his shoulder. "You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to." She replied understandingly. "I never knew my father, or my mother." She replied, "family issues seems to be a popular characteristic among people in the first order." She told him jokingly with a small smile. "I suppose." He replied. "Do you remember anything at all from your youth?" The girl shook her head. "I wish I was that way." Hux replied. "Was it really that bad?" Amphitrite asked, not in a rude way but more of a curious one. Hux nodded slowly. "You have no idea." "I'm sorry." "For what?" Hux hissed at her. "You didn't do any thing. It's not like you would understand." "I'm sorry you had to go through that. No one deserves abuse of any kind from anyone." Hux narrowed his eyes at the girl. "You really are a rare find for the first order." He told her. "What do you mean?" Amphitrite asked, confused. "No one else here is this pure and kind."
