Otterkit woke up, yawning. She sniffed the air and sented something new. She stepped outside and stared at the clearing in shook. White, fluffy stuff like clouds covered the camp. It was snow!
"It's Leaf-bare!" Otterkit shouted.
"It's snowing!" She continued shouting, which made almost all the cats wake up. Otterkit ran inside the nursery to tell the news.

She poked Darkkit.
"Wake up wake up! It's snowing outside!" Otterkit squeaked, while poking Darkkit. Darkkit woke up, yawning and stretching.
"Is it true that it's snowing?" Shadowkit came behind Otterkit. Otterkit turned and almost jumped on Darkkit.
"Yes it's true! I saw it with my own eyes!" Otterkit protested.
"Did you feel it?" Nightwing stood up. Otterkit shook her head.
"Well then kits go have some fun." Nightwing said gently. The three kits looked at each other and ran towards the nursery entrance.

Otterkit stared at the snow on the ground outside the nursery.
"Who goes first?" Shadowkit asked.
"I can!" Otterkit squeaked and did a bug leap and landed on the soft snow. She rolled around it, making her fur messy.
"How does it feel?" Shadowkit asked.
"Great!" Otterkit answered and stood up with snow on her fur.
"Well then its my turn!" Shadowkit said and leaped on Otterkit. They both landed on snow and were rolling on it. Darkkit stepped on the snow and patted around the clearing.

She noticed straight ice hanging on the warriors den entrance. She patted there and broke it to small pieces. She picked one up and sat down staring at it. Then she sniffed it, licked it and ate it.
"Ahhh! So freezing cold!" She shouted, biting her lips. She noticed that Whitefur and Greytail where giggling. Cloudfur came up to her.
"Of course it's cold, it's ice." Cloudfur teased. Darkkit looked away, embarrassed while the three warriors where laughing.

Otterkit and Shadowkit came up to her.
"Don't laughter at her!" Otterkit did a little hiss and sat down next to Darkkit and pressed her fur against Darkkit's fur.

Icestar came out of the leaders den and leaped on the highrock. Darkkit noticed that Lark and Featherpaw where sitting next to the highrock.
"All cats old enough to catch their own pray, come beneath the Highrock for a clan meeting!" Icestar shouted. All cats came to surround the Highrock.
"Today Featherpaw has been accepted to be a medicine cat apprentice by Lark." He announced.
"Lark may you explain why."
Icestar asked gently. Lark nodded.
"Featherpaw was accepted to be my apprentice because she can't be a Warrior because she is having hard time to Balance while walking." Lark explained. Everyone started to nod and agree. Darkkit it was surprised what Lark said.
"I also have some other news." Icestar continued.
"Today we will be breaking the ice!" He announced. Everyone started to yowl in excitement.
"What does that mean?" Otterkit asked and turned to look at Nightwing who was sitting next to her.
"It means all of us accepted the the kits are going to the river and breaking the Ice, which is covering the river." Nightwing explained.
"How?" Shadowkit asked.
"Why?" Darkkit asked
"When?" Otterkit asked.
"We jump on the ice and sometimes we claw the ice for it to break easily." Nightwing explained.
"We break the ice because then we can fish for fishes and drink the water." Flowerheart said.
"Right now we will go and break the ice but you kits can't yet." Nightwing said.
"Why?" Otterkit asked a little sad.
"Because you are too young." Flowerheart said and licked Shadowkit's ear.
"Clan meeting dismissed!"
Icestar shouted and leaped off the highrock and padded towards Otterkit and Darkkit.
