27: Additon
Third Person's POV
When Peter came to, he was looking up at the starry night with a faint of light illuminating from his sides, his head rested on Elsa's lap. Turns out, the only light source was coming from a beam of blue light casted by Elsa.
She saw the boy's opened eyes and moving body, and gave him a small smile. "Lumos Maxima," she commanded, sending the light from her right palm to illuminate brighter. He tried to get up, but the edges of his vision got blurry.
"Easy there," Elsa said. "Why don't you just lie still for a little while, okay?"
He groaned, "Please don't tell anyone! My family, I mean, mostly. I'll have to go to more 'treatment' if they hear I passed out again."
"I won't tell them," she said, laughing. "Promise. Although, you owe me one."
"What? Isn't a new notebook for your birthday enough already? I spent days trying to get something that might be usable to you. I finally thought you might need a new guitar. I noticed yours looked pretty old, and since Liv wouldn't give us a single clue what she was going to get for you, I just got one for you. It really does pair up nicely with the song writing book Mike got you." He tried to sit up the second time and pouted at her.
She couldn't believe she'd overlooked it. Peter knew almost everything about herself, but Elsa realised she didn't know Peter as much as Peter knows her. Not even Peter's birthday.
"Okay, fine. I'll get you... something far greater on your birthday alright? When is it?" Elsa considered.
"April 30." He added, "Thanks, Snowflake."
Elsa automatically punched her first on Peter's shoulder upon hearing the stupid names Peter's been making, which sent him to shriek out loud. But even then, she secretly liked the silly nicknames, especially made by Peter.
"Elsa," Peter said softly, "It's amazing the way you know how to do things, how to take care of yourself."
"What are you talking about? You've been taking care of yourself for-" She stopped talking mid sentence. She don't actually know how long Peter has been taking care of himself. "You take care of yourself, and Paisley, and Petrina."
"That's not true. You really know how to take care of yourself. Even if I can, I just figure it out as I go along. And don't forget: you are my family's babysitter. It's a little embarrassing if you ask me."
To her, that sounded like a much greater achievement, but she didn't argue.
"And you're such a good person, too. Coming to live in a strange place with a bunch of losers like us."
"You're not losers," Elsa said quickly.
Peter nodded. "Maybe not. Maybe now that you're here-"
"Me?"
"I can explain it. You bring- I don't know- a different energy to this place. Paisley feels different with you here."
"Different how?"
Peter shook his head, avoiding Elsa's eyes contact when he said, "Different better." They were silent for a beat, and then he added, "I don't know, Snowflake. I just really like having you around."
"I like being around," Elsa said, the words thick in her throat. "Around you, I mean." She looked away, putting aside her spell book.
Huh, I didn't realise that was there, Peter thought.
As he looked closer, there was... it can't be... a spark, in between the pages of the book.
"Snowflake. Your... spell book. It had a... spark?" He stared at the non-living thing in bewilderment.
"Oh, yes! I almost forgot I wanted to talk to you about this." Elsa scoped up the book on the ground.
"I had this book for as long as I can remember. Carrying this book everywhere, I practically memorized every spell there is in there. But look at this-" she flipped the thick parchment to the last few pages, "These spells started to appear in my book- I don't remember any of these in it before. It's like they were added into the collection, somehow."
She handed Peter the book and had a careful look at the foreign spells on the yellow pages. The pages all seemed to fit into the book: all the same shade of yellow and brown, nothing seemed out of place.

"Interesting... they all seemed to have one thing in common: they are self defense and attacking spells," Peter noted.
"That's right... but what does it mean? One thing is for sure that it is not just a book of spells. It... might be magical itself." Elsa thought carefully, "But the attacking spells? Why... why would I need that?"
"We are grasping at straws this time, Elsa. We could only speculate when there are any further changes," Peter furrowed his brows, brushing his hair with his fingers frustratedly.
