20: Girls' Night

Elsa's Pov

That night, the both of us were cuddling in my cramp but tidy bedroom, watching a movie that Liv brought while enjoying the sweetness of warm popcorn.

"It's been a long time since we did things like this," commented Liv.

"That's why you have to come by more often. You know you are always welcomed here," I emphasized.

I was really enjoying myself today. Shawn, the protagonist of our show struggles with his live and relationships with his family and friends. Sounds about right to me.

Until an advertisement popped up in the middle of our show.

"After Pluto was declared to it not being a planet—"

"WHAT?" Liv jumped out from the couch. "Did I hear that correctly? Pluto.... Pluto.... Elsa. Tell me this is not true."

"Haven't you heard? It was scientifically proven that Pluto isn't a planet..." I chuckled, before realising the look of betrayal on her face. "Oops. Sorry to burst ya bubble."

"That's not fair, my life has been a lie," she sulked.

"Alright, alright. What about we discuss something... light-headed. Can I ask you something?"

"Ya sure. Anything." Liv stuffed her hands in the bowl, shoving the popcorn in her mouth to choke her misery away.

"How well do you know Peter and Mike?" was one of the questions that I blurted out without a thought.

"Let's see... we have been friends since sixth grade.... that's about four years right? I'll say I have learnt a lot about 'em," She said, with her thinking cap on.

"Tell me more."

"These two might be best friends, but they do have different interests."

"Uh huh," something tells me I'm in for a treat.

"You know Mike. The most technologically savvy person among the four of us. His amazing logical thinking and problem solving skills has paid off being in the chess club," Liv grinned. "And Peter... let's just say: he aims pretty well into baskets."

"Don't tell me—" I gasped.

"Ding! He is in the basketball team." Liv said. She made this feel all like a trivia show, her obviously being the host while I became a contestant. It is no wonder she was, and still is in the drama club.

"What! Seriously? Huckleberry. In basketball." I tried to piece that Huckleberry and basketball together, but it almost seemed impossible. I know I shouldn't judge anybody, but really? Sure, Huckleberry sure is slender build and has long arms to reach the hoops...

"I know this sounds crazy but Peter is a pretty good basketball player." Liv pointed out.

Really? This school clearly doesn't know the meaning of 'talent'.

I was surprised when she asked why I'm so interested in their lives. "I... hanged out with Peter a few days ago and he told me stuff that... bugged me."

Liv's Pov

"Wait a minute, you hanged out with Peter, as in Peter Parker?" I was pretty sure that I didn't overslept for one whole day because I think I miss this part!

"Yeah. Crazy right?" She replied. "He told me his secret about being able to see the future. Not gonna lie; that bothered me a little."

"It did?"

"Now I know that there's someone out there who has similar abnormality as me, I'm suppose to feel... encouraged? But I'm not, at all. Look at Peter. He looks and acts as though he is just a regular teenager, living a normal teenage life. For someone like him, he managed all that all too good. What about me? Bullied from young because I was different. I can't... I can't get anything right..."

"E..." I felt an unfamiliar fall of my tone. "Hey there. I've known you since kindergarten. You are the most free-spirit, kindhearted being I have ever met."

I tried to encourage her, but that didn't seem to work. She slowly oozed about her emotions and before I knew it, her powers took control of her, forming a small whirlpool of snowflakes just floating above her head.

I placed my warm hands onto her icy cold one. "You and I both know that you are strong, just like him. Yes, Peter seemed fine and all now, but you never would have seen the conflict he experienced growing up. We all have our flaws: non of us are perfect. Heck even I don't know anything that happened to Pluto!"

"Well... Maybe you're right..." she admitted.

"Have a little hope, darling. The good is yet to come." That seemed to have calmed her down, judging by the decreasing of snowflakes hovering around.

"Liv, you don't get it. Life works better if you don't get your hopes up. Shawn, the guy in the show, will get back with his ex girlfriend. Pluto is not a planet anymore and my adoptive family and me are just... my adoptive family and me."

"Look past those flaws, E. You are the only one that makes your own decisions. We can start by having positive thoughts." I smiled.

"How is it possible that you still have hope for me?"
