Chapter 8- Keilar

Chapter 8- Keilar

I was sitting on my bed, clothes changed into misty pink gown that faded into a pale blue was very light. I got up, and went to my table. I placed the golden pin on the flat surface. For some reason, I had kept this pin and not told Elwin about it. For some reason, it looked special to me. Familiar. Vague memories were coming back to me, but that's what they stay as. Vague memories.

For some reason, I was itching to move my hands and touch the back of the pin; so I fulfilled my itch. I slid my fingers to find them in a hollow compartment. I slid my thin fingers more ahead to feel something smooth yet sharp. I pulled it out. I gasped, because I had found a blade in the pin. A blade. A real blade, made of smooth metal that was decored by diamonds. It looked very pretty, but threatening.

I didn't know what to do with the pin. So I just kept it with me and hid it in my human clothes' pocket. I had to deal with the pin later on.

*Time skip*

I'm at Foxfire, facing the very grand school in front of me. And all I could think was, that's really huge for a school. A five-story glass pyramid towered over everything from its place in the center of a wide stone courtyard. The main building wrapped around the pyramid in a sharply angled U and was made entirely of stained glass. Six towers—each a different color—separated the wings, and a seventh tower— another Leapmaster—stood in the center, taller than the others. To the left sat a domed amphitheater and two smaller buildings, all built from glowing stones. To the right, two giant towers, one gold and one silver, twisted around one another. Combined with extensive fields of purple grass, the place seemed more like a small city than a school, which was packed with prodigies in uniforms the same colours as the building's six towers. I remember the look on my face when I saw my uniform; a pleated skirt paired with leggings, a shirt, a vest, and a half cape pinned with their mascot pin (all in dark orange) and Elwin's family crest, since I wasn't really adopted yet. Making the uniform work was hard, but figuring out the maze of this school might be slightly easier. But you know, the glass pyramid looks like the le Louvre in France I thought.

I went to the bottom floor of the glass pyramid since everyone was going there. And I was right. The floor was packed with prodigies in uniforms the same colors as the building's six towers. Hmm... Must be either attendance or announcements, or both. I thought.

As I was making my way in the crowd, I bumped into someone. I mumbled a quick 'sorry' to see who it was. And to my embarrassment, I see the same strawberry-blond boy. What was his name? No idea. "Hi?" I said. I looked at him up to down. He had no signs of the scars I had seen the last time I met him, so that's good. I can see more of his features now; he was a skinny boy with periwinkle eyes and freckles. Although it was hard to tell with the frown on his face.

He went straight to the point and asked, "Who are you?" I gave him a savage reply that kind of roasted me, "I've been trying to figure that out my entire life." He shot a very menacing glare at me, but I was the least bothered by it. He said, "I meant, I know you were there. At the bridge. In France."

"Oh yes! Well uh... About that..." I stalled. This may be the most awkward conversation ever, or the best start ever. So I had to choose my words. Let's start with something easy. I thought.

I replied, "Okay. Let me explain. I-may-have-been-an-elf-my-entire-life-but-never-knew-it-until-I-met-you-and-blondie-and-I-magically-came-here-and-things-happened-and-apparantly-I-had-abilities-and-talent-and-I-was-whisked-away-to-this-school-and" I said in one breath.

"Whoa! Slow down. All I here is mumbling at the moment." he jokingly said. His face softened a bit, and he said, "My name's Dex. Dex Dizznee." I said, "My name's Keilar Olivia, but you can call me Keilar. So what's happening right now?" He said, "Every morning starts with orientation. It's no big deal. Dame Alina—our principal—just reads off any announcements while they take attendance."

"Hmm, cool." I said. Thousands of bells chimed an intricate peal, and everyone faced Dame Alina's projection flashing across the far wall. She gave her most dazzling smile, welcomed the prodigies to a new year at Foxfire, and launched into a string of announcements that I couldn't make sense of. I zoned back for a minute, but came back soon. I was hearing this: "And—last but not least—where is she? . . . Ah, there!" A LITERAL spotlight came on me as everyone stumbled back from me. "There she is! Everyone, please welcome Keilar Olivia, starting her first year at Foxfire as a Level Three." Every eye turned to look at me. That's right, look at the person who's the coolest around here I thought as I smirked. The silence stayed for a prolonged period. Dame Alina cleared her throat. "Is that how we welcome someone?" A second of silence passed before everyone clapped "That's better," Dame Alina said. "That concludes today's announcements. Have a wonderful day!" Everyone applauded as Dame Alina flashed a brilliant smile and blinked off the screen. Then all eyes returned to me. Oh yeah, bore your eyes at my greatness... yes... I said to get over the very irritating and annoying whispers. I caught a few of them and wondered what it meant.

"So that's her, huh?"

"Another one? And straight away at Level Three?"

"She looks smug, I don't like her."

I flinched at the familiar waves of annoyance. Then I was walking very quickly to get away from the very suffocating crowd. I got away, but now I was hella confused. Where the fuck do I go?? I asked myself. Then I felt a tap on my shoulder and got startled. I turned to see a petite girl, and with her uniform looked like it spent the night balled up on the floor, but the girl still looked pretty. She looked just like me when I was ten; the messy blonde hair, the tiny braids, her huge, ice blue eyes. I mumbled a quick 'Hello.' The girl got straight to the point. "My name's Marella. Not Mare. Not Ella. No nicknames." I nodded. "Okay, I can tell you're lost. Come with me." And off she went. I followed since I really didn't have anything else to do; it was either follow her or stay being lost.

She led me into the main building, which was divided into six different wings by the towers, one wing for each lower grade level. The walls of the Level three wing were the same amber as her uniform. Marella switched halls so many times that I had to make a mental map of the path. We soon entered an enormous quad with glittering crystal trees scattered throughout the room. A statue of a mastodon filled the center, sparkling of course. Prodigies chatted as they put books and supplies into the narrow doorways lining the walls, but everyone fell silent when they noticed me. "Okay, this is the atrium," Marella explained, ignoring the spectacle they were creating. She checked my schedule and led me toward the far wall, to a door marked with a rune. "This is your locker. See that silver strip?" She pointed to a shiny mirrored rectangle just underneath the symbol. "Lick it. The lock uses your DNA."

"Gross."

"It tastes good."

I doubted that, but I could feel everyone was watching me so I licked the silver rectangle.

"Mmmm, Tastes very sour."

"The faculty picks the flavors. They change every day—but watch out for Elwin's picks. Those ones are usually crazy." Marella jokingly said. Hmm. Is that so?

*Time skip bcz I'm lazy af and you don't know why*

I was climbing some random stairs to some random place. Okay, I knew exactly what I was doing and where I was going. I was ditching. What? I KNOW I said that I'll study a little harder to Bronte and I KNOW I'm breaking that promise, but promises are... meant to be broken? I just wanted to ditch Elementalism. Because even after forgetting human knowledge, you still would be two classes away from your entire classmates. And bottling tornados and lightnings... yeah, pass.

I bumped into a dude. The first thing that came to my head was Oh shit! I'm gonna die...I'm gonna be with ten year olds becz I was caught... "Whoa! You must be lost." The boy's deep voice said. I looked up to the slightly taller boy who wore a red Level Five uniform, looking at me with ice blue eyes. I blinked, "Why do you care?" I said. "And how'd you figure that out?" I backed away.

"It's the middle of session. Either you're lost, or you're ditching — and I don't think you're ditching."

"I am."

"Are yo- Wait. What?"

"Yeah. What's so surprising in that?" His lips twisted into a crooked grin. "You're the new girl, aren't you?" She sighed and nodded. "I'm Keefe."

"Keilar. I guess you're ditching too." He laughed. "I guess I am. What are you ditching, new girl?" He flashed a slightly wicked smile. "Okay, what is it with elves and smiling?" I muttered. I sighed and said, "I'm ditching Elementalism. Whatever the word means." His dishevelled blond hair the way he'd rolled up his sleeves and left his shirt untucked, I could tell—he was one of the COOL kind of guys. Probably popular, too. "I'm ditching the Universe. So, what's the reason for ditching? The teacher? The teaching?" I giggled. "No. I just think that things that I can't do and have no use are worth ditching. For example, I know for a FACT that I may NEVER use a bottled tornado somewhere important. Unless it was for a prank." I said. "You should know, I'm a prankster."

"Well so am I. Shall we be partners in crime?" He said and held out his hand. I hesitated, of course. Who; out if the blue, would just give an offer?! Just like that?! But then a voice in my head said, 'You know, he could be good... You don't know the places to get materials or the appropriate pranks.' Yeah, you're right. "It's a deal." I said and shook his outstretched hand. "So shall we go, Partner?" He held his hand on his waist in a fist to show his elbow. "We shall, my Partner." I replied, and hooked my hand into his.

Yes! I FINALLY was able to hook Keefe into the story. And my other story, 'Not Fate' (Check out my profile) is going on Hiatus becz I'm losing interest and TIME. I'm writing two chapters a week, and I need at least 30 chapters in this book, which means... (Carry the one, add the four...) It may take 10 more weeks to finish this book. I may not have ten weeks. So most of my stories, are probably going on hiatus or are just discontinued or not updated at the moment. Just to tell you.

And after maybe two chapters, requests open for one-shots in the story! If you don't know, I will need 10-15 one-shot requests to kind of give Keilar 'happy' memories of the Elvin world. (I want my baby to be HAPPY) I also kind of am being lazy and don't wanna write every single moment of the Elvin world to happen with Keilar bcz that's time waste AND boring. I don't want this to be like any other OC insert in KOTLC. I would love creative ideas and prank ideas, for eg. Keefe and Keilar pranking Biana by putting some kind of hair- tangler or something.... See, I ain't good at this! This is why I need your HELP.

Also, plz vote on what ship name is better for Fitz and Keilar. Kitz or Fitzlar?

Sorry to all SoFitz shippers, but this HAS to happen! And let's just say... SoKeefe Shippers... You'll get your wish.

...

Oh! Black -> Out.
