A Story Told in Haikus
A story told in haikus; otherwise known as me being dramatic but in three lines at a time. This update has been sitting as a draft for some time. Enjoy!
——————
I stare upwards—stars
Crickets sing their song, lights flicker
I lay here alone
——————
Quivering lips—cold
I feel something on my cheek
It's you I think of
——————
"Hi," I had told you
"Hello," you said back to me
Then we became friends
——————
I liked to pop up
Say hi then ramble about
You always listened
——————
I am so stupid
I ran into the wall
Stop! Don't laugh at me
——————
You said you're stupid
I think you're smarter than me
Are we both just dumb?
——————
Your jokes are so bad
Yes, they don't make any sense,
Why am I laughing?
——————
You said you don't cry
We both know better than that
Hey, tell me what's wrong
——————
When you lay in bed
Remember the stars outside
I see the same stars
——————
It's cold when it rains
We both forgot umbrellas
So we ran for it
——————
I like home made meals
But you insist on new places
So we'll go to them
——————
I am so bored here T-T
I text you and we play games :3
But you always win >:(
——————
A song in my head
Ugh—it reminds me of you
Your stupid laughter
——————
I poke your forehead
Has your hair always been brown?
Looked gold in sunlight
——————
I hate your smile
The way I hate butterflies
And really hot days
——————
When my eyes meet yours
I can see blue ocean waves
Dreams and adventures
——————
I told you the words
Three syllables, between us
Then I ran away
——————
Beside me, my phone
It buzzes but I can't look
These tears won't relent
——————
I hate my feelings
How can I make them go away?
My chest is so tight
——————
Buzz. I'm scared to look
The old clock ticks ever slow
I turn on the phone
——————
I'm sorry, it says
But we can still be friends, right?
I turn off the screen
——————
It's you I think of
Tears roll down on my cheek
I bit on my lips
——————
Upwards—night of stars
Are you looking at them too?
I lay here alone
