Setting- college

Velma - forensics major. Wants to eventually work as a forensics investigator in the police force. Often gets lost in whatever she is working on and doesn't care much about what she wears as long as it's comfortable. Friends with Daphne since 8th grade.

Daphne - art major, runs "listen to the lost" missing person podcast, puts effort into fashion and simple exquisite pleasures in life like aesthetic food. Neighbors with Fred since about 6th grade. Friends with Velma since 8th grade.

Fred - engineering major. Started building traps based on those his dad taught him on camping trips. Wants to expand trapping knowledge to criminals. Neighbors with Daphne since 6th grade. Roommates with Shaggy.

Shaggy - major undecided. conspiracy theorist and amateur paranormal investigator. Loves food. Surprisingly great with written and non verbal languages as well as history.

Scooby-Doo - reflects shaggy's personality and reactions. More likely to be distracted with food.

Crew comes together when Fred mentions that Shaggy is going to be doing a paranormal investigation in a location related to the most recent episode on Daphne's podcast. Daphne and Velma come because they are a team on the podcast. Fred and Shaggy come as roommates. They end up solving a mystery together (exposing a tax fraud scheme by pretending to be dead) and becoming close friends.

No out of character jokes. No forced inclusion. Keeping the characters personalities and strengths in mind.
