the meeting (Fusillade)

"Um...Hi? I'm looking for Mei Hatsume?" Izuku said peering through the door.

"Dear God no" Powerloader was holding his hands above his head like he was going through a tornado drill. "Why today?!"

All of a sudden, there was a giant noise from one of the back rooms. The door opened, releasing a cloud of smoke that a pink-haired girl wearing goggles stepped out of. "Sorry, again, Mr. Powerloader, Sir, but heard someone was asking for me?!"

"Yes, this is Izuku Midoriya" Powerloader said, still not raising his head or hands. "Please, don't start a second school fire."

"No promises!" Mei Hatsume said as she grabbed Izuku's arm and pulled him into her workroom.

She kicked open the door to reveal several tables covered in different gadgets and gizmos, all in different points of development. "What can I help you with today?"

Izuku started by pulling out his notebook. "Well, I was really impressed with the work you did with Shinso and I's costumes, and I wanted to know what else you had planned for them."

Hatsume's eyes gleemed. "So many things! Where do I start?"

"How about Shinso's costume?"

Hatsume nodded and pulled him over to a table on the far wall. "Here is what babies I've got so far: a voice modifier, com, database lenses, custom shoes, knuckle busters, and my own version of Eraserhead's scarf. He already has the capture ribbons on his hoodie." She said as she held up various inventions. "I did some inspiration searching for both of your costumes and based them on Spiderman. I was thinking of trying to develop my own version of the nanobot suit to use on your costumes, but I needed to talk with you first."

Izuku was practically vibrating with excitement. "Those are all really good ideas! I didn't even think of database lenses."

"I know right?" Hatsume said, gesturing with her hands. "Ready to see yours?" Izuku nodded.

She dragged him to another table. "Take a looksee!"

The table had even more gadgets than Shinso's did. "Are you ready!" Izuku nodded again in disbelief.

"Alright, first are the utility belt babies: the stun disks, expandable cuffs, coms, and the instant flame capsules. Then, are the big boys, my pride and joy: The Monster Set!"

Izuku was writing frantically in his notebook. "What is the Monster Set?"

Hatsume gave him a wide grin. "You know how your mask has teeth and your body suit has scales?" Izuku hummed in reply.

She walked over to a tarp covered lump, grabbed a corner, and pulled it off. "Tada!"

The peices were, in a way, beautiful. Glossy black and red metal formed into shiny entricate contraptions laid on the table.

"Wonderful aren't they." Hatsume said, standing by his side now. "Miniture flame thrower wrist brace, com and recording headband, and my latest obsession to work on: the tail."

At that, Izuku snapped out of his trance. "Tail?"

Hatsume nodded. "Yes, tail. I figured you would need something for mobility and increased range. You can thank your classmate Ojiro for giving me inspiration."

Izuku walked up to examine the device. It was long, thin, and had retractable blades on the end. "How does it work?" He asked Hatsume who joined his side again.

"This baby will work similar to Shinso's scarf when I'm done developing them. Some of these things are still in the bug checking stage, so you can't have them yet."

"That makes sense. I have a request actually." Izuku said.

"What is it?" Hatsume said, clearing a spot on another table.

"Would you mind working on some things for my classmates' costumes? Their designers did them dirty and you obviously know quality. Plus, I think you could help Yaoyorozu with making more effective items." Izuku said pulling out another notebook he brought.

"Absolutely! I would love to make more babies!" Hatsume said, taking the notebook and skimming through it. "Wow, these analyses are amazing. Did you do these yourself?"

"Yeah." Said Izuku, embarrassment coloring his cheeks and ears. Hatsume gave him a devilish grin. "You are now my best friend."

Izuku could only let out a confused "huh" before Hatsume dumped a load of paperwork into his arms. "Those are for the finished peices. You and Powerloader have to sign them off before you take them with you."

Izuku hummed and nodded before being pushed out of the workroom. He settled at a desk and pulled out a pencil. When he was done signing, he picked up the stack and walked over to Powerloader who had not moved from the Tornado crouch at his desk.

Upon inspection, Izuku found him asleep. So, he did the only thing he could think of, he slammed a beat onto the desk right by the teacher's ear.

Powerloader snapped up in surprise. "What! Huh? Oh thank god it's just you. What do you need?"

Izuku wordlessly set the comically large stack of papers in front of him. Powerloader slammed his head back on the desk. He pulled out a stamp and started on the stack.

Seeing that he was not needed, Izuku shuffled back to the workroom door. He nudged the door open until he could see Hatsume who was already working on another project.

Izuku tapped her shoulder to get her attention. "Thanks, Hatsume, for the support."

"Anytime!" Hatsume said, smiling. "Call me Mei. You're a friend now."

"Okay. Well, I'll be back tomorrow with Shinso to pick up the gear. I think Powerloader is having a night." They both giggled at the teacher's predicament.

Izuku once again walked through the workroom door, checked on the teacher's progress which wasn't much, and left for his classroom.

------

It was game night in the teacher lounge. Midnight insisted that everyone attend so they could swap first week stories.

Mic had dragged Eraserhead along with the bribe of more specialty coffee. Nedzu always attended first week game night for amusement. Powerloader attended if he wasn't already sleeping, so he waltzed in with a giant stack of papers. This was All-might's first game night and was visibly nervous.

Midnight was ecstatic that Mic had dragged Eraser along because he was the one who set up the betting pools.

Presently, they were playing Cover Your Assets and discussing their classes. "I'm telling you, I'm conviced that Midoriya is already fluent in English. The kid spoke it like he was bilingual!"

"That's because he is." Nedzu said. Everyone turned to stare at him. Nedzu explained, "His father was American. He learned it from birth. He was also in my online program last year, so I will be adjusting his classes soon."

Midnight took up the conversation from there. "He gave me a run for my money. I did a first class assessment of an activist artpiece and he gave me a full analysis of the symbolism and meaning behind the piece as well as its impact on the community where it was installed. Best thing I ever read from my class."

"He is extremely good at mental math." Snipe said, drawing attention to himself. "I gave them a pre assessment to see what they know and he didn't use a calculator. He was the first to finish and he had the highest score."

Powerloader sighed from the corner where he was still signing and stamping paperwork. Noticing everyone's attention, he relayed. "He met Hatsume. They get along. She's his assigned support. He gave her some notebook of ideas and now I have to do this before tommorow." He said gesturing at the stack of papers. "I was in the middle of a quick nap when he started playing the cup song on the table right by my ear."

"Sounds like something he would do." Eraserhead quipped.

Everyone stared. It was the first thing he said to any of them outside of gameplay all night. Eraserhead ignored their stares, pulled a card from his hand, and placed it in front of Midnight. "I challenge your banks."

Midnight slammed down a regular card to counter, which was canceled by another card by Eraserhead. Midnight stared into Eraserhead's face like she was searching for something until she said, "Fine, have it."

Eraser took the stack and placed it on his own. He drew new cards with Midnight and gestured to Mic. "Your turn."

Gleefully, Mic challenged Eraserhead's new cards and was promptly countered 3 times before giving up.

"You know, Shinso and Midoriya are really close." Thirteen said, drawing a card.

"I noticed that. Think there's something there?" Midnight asked, challenging Snipe.

Out of nowhere, Eraserhead threw out, "200 yen they confess by the end of the year."

"300 yen before the final exams." Snipe called out.

Eraser pulled out his 'Bet Book' and took down names.

All-Might just looked increasingly confused at his coworkers' antics. Once the group settled down again, he spoke. "Shinso and Midoriya don't seem to like me."

"Well, I wouldn't expect them to." Nedzu said, finishing his turn.

"Why is that?" Asked All-Might.

"Not for me to tell. I also wouldn't ask them about it because it could make them hate you more for not remembering."

"Oh." All-Might said, reaching to grab a card from the deck only to find it empty.

They finished the last go around, and totaled their scores. Nedzu ended up winning with Aizawa at a close second.

As they started to pack up for the day, Aizawa strolled over to Majima. "You are going to hate me."

"Why?" Majima said, looking up from the never ending stack of paperwork he need to sign.

"I want to commission Hatsume to design the rest of my students' costumes. The companies we commissioned utterly failed in their job and Hatsume's work was the best I have ever seen."

Majima slammed his head onto the pile, disturbing the papers. "I'm pretty sure she is already doing that with the notebook Midoriya gave her. Dear, god, why?"

Aizawa gave the hint of a smile out of amusement before leaving.
