Evelyn grimaced as she stared at the parchment in front of her. Next to it as a sketch of her and her family. Gazing longingly at her smiling parents, the swashbuckler felt a pang of misery as she recalled their fate. Her fingers toyed with a quill as she tried to decide whether or not she should write down the words that would save her life. Conflicting emotions warred within her, one side of her asking how she could possibly consider such a traitorous act. The other argued that it was hardly traitorous, considering she had never been accepted as part of the crew anyway. What did she owe them?

Taking a deep breath, Evelyn made a decision, touched the quill to parchment and began to write.
