Interlude
My body is speckled with gold leaf.
I lie here, in the wild grass that reaches far, far out.
It's all that I can see.
I lie here, in the water that laps over my body, the lake that reaches far, far out.
It's all that I can see.
I lie here, on the blackened, charred floor that reaches far, far out.
I can't see.
But my body is speckled with gold no matter the circumstance.
If you rip away the gold, you will rip away my flesh, and I will bleed for days until I bleed no more.
I lay here, golden.
A golden body.
I am decaying.
The ends of my fingers have already found their home in the ground, in the soil, amongst the worms and the bacteria.
But I am golden, and I shall make this earth golden, too.
(She is golden as she decays. Her mind is black. Her bones alabaster. She is tri colour.)
(And so are you)
