Sometimes, despite your best efforts, friendships can come to an end. It could be the result of the distance, loss of contact, a fight-the reasons were endless. At least, that's what crossed Misty's mind as she started back at Ash, the words she'd never meant to say now out in the open. She could feel their 10-year friendship coming to a crushing end and there was nothing she could do to stop it from happening.

Could she take it back? Misty shook her head.

She'd crossed a line and there was no going back.

Ash opened his mouth, preparing to say something back, but the words quickly died on his lips. Misty felt helpless, yet angry at herself for letting her emotions get the best of her again. She knew better.

Ash leaned forward, tilting his head as his lips connected with Misty's.

As the two stood by the front door, exploring a whole new side of the other, a fleeting thought passed through Misty's head.
