Adam was able to catch up to me when I ran out the door. "What happened to her?? Did Sean say?" I ask Adam he shakes his head. "No. Why would he?" Adam jumped into the trees. "Adam, what are you doing?" I ask. "Faster this way!" I groan and then jump into the trees. My fox ears and tail were out so I was trying not to get them caught on anything. I quickly jumped onto the tree branch Adam was on and we continued to run towards the Dark Claw base...but from jumping to tree to tree.
We finally reached the base. When we ran up, we saw Sean pacing back and forth in the clearing. "Blake, darling! Adam! Good you both are here." Sean said. I walk over to Sean, grab his shirt and pull his face close to mine but not so close that we could kiss. "Where is she?" Sean swallowed. "Follow me." I let him go and we started running. Sean led us to where the Dark Claw members go if they are injured during a mission. I scanned the room very carefully. "Where's Kayla?" I turn to Sean. Sean was looking around the room. There wasn't any nurse or anyone else besides the injured in the room. But, he looked upset. "What the hell?! She was right here.." Sean trailed off. Just then, we heard footsteps. "JAKE DON'T KILL HER!" Adam yelled and I turned to see Kayla, passed out with a knife to her throat, that was held by Jake.
