3.4 Reality Check
Abhira's voice was laced with emotion as she revealed more of Ruhi's deceitful plans. "There's more to it, bhai! She tried to separate me from Armaan, she manipulated and lied to keep us apart. And she married Rohit only because she wanted to live near Armaan, to keep an eye on him and control him!"
Abhira's words hung in the air like a challenge, daring Ruhi to deny the truth. The room was heavy with tension, the family's eyes fixed on Ruhi as they waited for her response.
Ruhi's face contorted in a mixture of anger and desperation, her eyes flashing with defiance. But Abhira stood tall, her voice firm and resolute, as she continued to expose Ruhi's deceitful plans.
Abhira's voice trembled with emotion as she revealed the shocking truth. "At the day of mine and Armaan's engagement, she stole our engagement ring. And on the day of her marriage, she got ready as me, pretending to be the bride, and threatened Armaan to marry her or else she'll commit suicide."
Rohit's eyes widened in shock as he stumbled backward, his face pale and his mouth agape. He looked like he had been punched in the gut, his breath knocked out of him.
He struggled to process the revelation, his mind reeling with the implications. He had married Ruhi, thinking he knew her, but now he realized he had been living a lie.
Every moment they had shared, every conversation, every laugh, it all seemed like a facade now.
Rohit's eyes darted to Ruhi, his expression a mix of shock, anger, and betrayal. He took another step back, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Ruhi...how could you?" He repeated the question, his voice growing louder, more accusatory.
He thought about all the times Ruhi had lied to him, manipulated him, used him to get what she wanted. He felt like a fool, a pawn in her game of deception.
Rohit's face twisted in disgust as he looked at Ruhi. "You're...you're not even sorry, are you?" He spat the words out, his anger and hurt boiling over.
Rohit's words cut through the air, laced with sarcasm and hurt.
"It's good that our child died before being born. What would I have told him? How great his mother is?" His voice dripped with bitterness, his eyes filled with tears of pain and betrayal.
He took a step back, his eyes fixed on Ruhi, his expression a mix of disgust and anger. "You're a monster, Ruhi," he spat, his voice venomous.
"A monster with no conscience, no heart. You used me, manipulated me, and lied to me. And now, I'm left to pick up the pieces of my shattered life."
Rohit's words hung in the air, a damning indictment of Ruhi's actions. The room was silent, the only sound the heavy breathing of the occupants.
Everyone's eyes were fixed on Ruhi, their faces etched with shock, disgust, and horror. Abhira's eyes were filled with tears, her face pale with shock.
Armaan's face was twisted in anger, his eyes blazing with fury. The atmosphere was thick with tension, the weight of Ruhi's deceit crushing the air out of the room.
Ruhi's face contorted in anger, her eyes flashing with defiance. But Rohit didn't care. He was beyond caring.
He was consumed by his own hurt and anger. He took another step back, his eyes never leaving Ruhi's face. "I don't know how I ever loved you," he whispered, his voice barely audible.
"I don't know how I ever trusted you. You're a poison, Ruhi. A poison that infects everything you touch." His words were laced with venom, his eyes filled with a deep-seated hatred.
Abhir's voice was laced with a deep sense of pain and disappointment as he gazed at Ruhi, his eyes filled with a mix of sadness and shock.
"I can't believe you are the same Ruhi who was my sister, with whom I used to play. What have you become, Ruhi?" He shook his head, his expression etched with a sense of loss and betrayal.
Abhir's words hung in the air, a poignant reminder of the sister he once knew and loved.
He took a step back, his eyes never leaving Ruhi's face, as if searching for any glimmer of the sister he had lost.
The room was silent, the only sound the heavy breathing of the occupants, as they witnessed the depth of Abhir's pain and disappointment.
Ruhi's face twisted in a snarl, her eyes flashing with defiance, but Abhir's words seemed to pierce through her armor, and for a moment, a flicker of emotion danced in her eyes, before she quickly suppressed it.
Abhir's gaze lingered on her face, as if willing her to remember the bond they once shared, to recall the laughter and the memories they had created together.
But Ruhi's expression remained cold, unyielding, and Abhir's face fell, his eyes filling with tears.
He turned away, his shoulders shaking with sobs, as the weight of his sister's betrayal crushed him.
The room was filled with the sound of Abhir's anguish, a heart-wrenching reminder of the devastating consequences of Ruhi's actions.
The silence was shattered when Daksh's cries pierced the air, breaking the tense standoff between Abhir and Ruhi.
Ruhi instinctively took a step forward, her arms outstretched to pick up her child, but before she could reach him, Abhira swiftly intervened. With a gentle yet firm motion, Abhira scooped up Daksh in her arms, cradling him close to her heart.
She began to rock him gently, her soothing motions calming the baby's cries. Abhira's eyes locked onto Ruhi's, a fierce protectiveness burning within them, as if daring Ruhi to try and take Daksh away from her.
Ruhi's face contorted in a mixture of anger and desperation, her eyes flashing with a desire to reclaim her child.
But Abhira stood firm, her grip on Daksh tightening as she shielded him from Ruhi's grasp.
The air was thick with tension, the silence between the two women palpable, as they engaged in a silent battle for control over the innocent child.
The sound of the police officer's voice echoed through the room, authoritative and firm. "Who is Ruhi Poddar here?" he asked, his eyes scanning the room as he searched for the woman in question.
Ruhi's eyes widened in alarm as she took a step back, her gaze darting wildly around the room. She knew she was in trouble, and the arrival of the police only made things worse.
Abhir's eyes locked onto Ruhi, a mixture of anger and satisfaction burning within them. "She's the one," he said, his voice cold and detached. "Ruhi Poddar, my sister. She's the one who's been lying, manipulating, and cheating her way through life."
