The Puppet And The Witch | {Any Member}
The blue eyes shone through the dark room where the only light source was the moonlight that shone through the window. The puppet stared at the round moon and glanced at his master who was soundly asleep.
He tried moving his hands but it was hard because the strings were tightly knotted on the nail. It took him a lot of strengths and time to get the strings cut. He stretched his arms out and cracked his neck as he jumped off the table.
He gulped as he looked at his other friends. He shook the thought away and made sure to make as little sound as possible. He glanced at the master and snorted before leaving the room. He ran the moment he managed to get out of the house.

You hummed as you twirled your hand around and pointed at the table which caused sparkles and smoke to appear. That disappeared to form a potion which you poured into the black pot. You read the instructions on the book while you mixed the dark green liquid.
Rain was falling heavily and you were not a bit concerned until you heard a loud thud from the backyard. Your eyes turned green and you stopped whatever you were doing. You walked towards the back door and opened it. You peeked out and saw a puppet laying flat on the ground.
You knelt down and poked at the puppet who was not responding to your touch. Pressing your lips together, you brought the puppet inside.

The puppet opened his eyes and gasped when he saw you staring at him with green eyes. He looked around and saw various potions, creatures trapped in the jars and other witch-related things.
"I came to the right place?" he spoke but it sounded like he was asking a question.
You watched his beautiful deep blue eyes move as he scanned the place and your lips curved up into a smile.
"If you meant to come to get your wish granted, then you've come to the right place," you told him and his head turned to you.
"Are you the witch?"
"Do I look like an angel to you, pretty boy?"
"Boy?"
"Yes, a boy. Now, will you answer my question?"
"Well," he pondered to think and you raised your eyes. "You are too beautiful to be human."
You bursted out laughing and ruffled his hair.
"You sure know how to speak, pretty boy."
You noticed how he was trying to hide a smile. He seemed to be pretty happy to be called a boy.
"So, what brought you here?" you inquired as you knew he must had escaped from his puppet master for a reason.
He stared down at his toes and then glanced back up at you.
"I want to be a boy."
"Aren't you one?"
"A human boy," he corrected and you looked at him. Honestly, you weren't surprised by his request but you weren't sure if he really knew what he up to.
"To be a human, you can only live for a lifetime. You can't have the privilege of immortality and you will have to live like the mortal they seek is acceptable."
"I know those. What is the price I have to pay?"
You squeezed your eyebrows together after hearing his reply. He seemed pretty determined and you had never seen those eyes before so you decided to give him a chance in life.
"I won't ask for a lot. I'll grant your wish and in return, I would like you to live with me as my assistant."
"Your assistant? After becoming a human?"
"You will need a place to stay, won't you?"
He gave it a thought and nodded his head.
"So, just help me out as you live here. I need an assistant anyways. You don't have to learn spells or anything. You just need to run a few errands and maybe clean the place."
"I'm up for it but is that all?"
You chuckled and pointed at him. With an wink, you snapped your fingers and the puppet turned into a human boy that he wanted to be.

The rain poured heavily as you tried to get the right mix for the potion. The sound of the rain and the soft music playing from the radio made the mood perfect. You glanced at the book and then at the crystal ball, spotting a familiar person near your house.
You heard the door creak open and someone ran inside. You heard a few curses and you couldn't help but giggle as you listened to the frustrated person mumbling incoherent words.
"Potion again?"
You smiled at him.
"I just can't get the right mix."
"You've been working on that for a really long time."
He walked around the place and grabbed a napkin. He tidied the place and kept the potion organised to keep the area clean.
"You don't have to do those. Why don't you take a rest?"
He paused and looked at you.
"Why? Am I no longer useful?"
"No," you sighed and stopped mixing. "I wanted to spend time talking with you."
"Oh... okay."
"How are you feeling?"
It took him some time to answer.
"I'm fine."
You hummed and focused on clearing your things.
"What did you do today?"
"Went around the town. I spotted a vintage music shop so I went there to listen to old, classical music. Then, I went to the park and saw a kitten so I played with it. After that, it started raining so I dashed here."
"Dashed."
"Tried to dash," he cleared his throat embarrassingly.
You couldn't help but smile.
"You haven't changed, pretty boy."
You had decided to stop doing your things and turned to face him. You walked towards him and placed your hand against his cheek.
"I'm not pretty anymore."
His pale face was now filled with wrinkles. There were dark bags under his eyes. His hair had turned silver and his lips were chapped.
You stared into his deep blue eyes and shook your head.
"You are still pretty even if you are not a young boy anymore."
He smiled until his eyes did the same.
"You always say the sweetest words. Even though you are a witch, you are kinder than an angel. Thank you for everything you've done for me all this while."
"How was it living like a human? Were you happy?"
"I faced many struggles and there were times I regretted becoming one. However..," he paused and placed his head on your shoulder. "I was always happy to come back home and meet you. If I never planned to become a human or thought of escaping the place, I would've never met you. Because of that, I'm more than happy."
"I see."
Just like the first time you had met him, you reached for his hair and ruffled it like he was just a young boy. His eyes still remained beautiful and you did regret for getting attached to a mortal. However, you knew it was worth it.
You gave him a tight hug and patted his back.
"You've done well. Rest in peace, my love."
He hugged you back and slowly, he closed his eyes and let time tick away. You whispered your parting words to him so that those words echoed in his head.
"We will meet again once I finish my potion."
