Being a professor's assistant was tough. You had to wake up extremely early and head to the university. Help the professor prepare slides and still attend your own assignments at the same time.

Your previous lecturer had resigned from the job so a new lecturer was coming. You needed to meet that teacher and learn from scratch once again since different Lecturers have different methods in teaching.

You heaved a sigh as you placed the textbooks on the table. You couldn't believe you were carrying these when you didn't even flip a page for your assignments. All you needed was Google but now you couldn't leave without all these books.

The new lecturer wasn't inside the room but the things were already there. You believed that the person must've went to restroom or something.

You stretched your arms out and plopped yourself down on the seat available. Getting bored, you started arranging the desk.

Just as you were doing so, you spotted a unique looking book. You believed it belonged to the lecturer and that it was wrong to check other people's stuff.

That was what you thought a second ago but you had already started flipping the pages of the book. Curiosity had already taken over you and you had read a few pages already. The book had some cliche fairytale stories written and you came to an end when the rest of the pages were blank.

You raised your eyebrow and tried flipping the pages, hoping to find more stories to kill time but there was none. There was only one title which said;

Chapter 6, The Fairest One.

Letting out a sigh, you closed the book. You read the time and figured that you could still walk around the campus to get a breather before drowning yourselves in books.

You stood up and left. As you were walking down, you saw your locker. You still had the key since you worked for the University and you kept almost everything there.

You inserted the key and unlocked it. Your eyes widened when you spotted something that shouldn't be inside. It was the book that you saw in the lecturer's room.

You took it out and flipped it open. You gasped when the light shone out and drew you into it.

The book dropped onto the floor and below the title, it stated;

You woke up in a dark gloomy forest and it sent chills down your spine immediately. The creepiness vibe the environment gave out made you feel uneasy.

You swallowed your saliva thickly and stood up. You explored the place with fear continuously lingering in you.

You told yourself it will be alright and that nothing could go wrong. Just as you were trying to calm yourself down, an owl cooed loudly which echoed across. You let out a shriek and started running anywhere your feet brought you to.

You braked your steps when you heard a cough. You looked around but saw no one. Your hands started to feel cold and you just wanted to escape out of this forest safely and as quickly as possible.

You then heard another cough and you crouched down in defence with a loud scream.

"For real?"

You blinked your eyes when you heard a deep male voice. You still had your hands above your head as you stood up. You peeked from below your hands but there was still no one.

You talk small steps and saw a mirror on the tree. You put your hands down and observed the mirror. You wondered why there was a mirror in the middle of the forest.

There were some letters carved on the tree just above the mirror.

You read, "Find the fairest one and you can go back."

You tilted your head, "Fairest one?"

You looked at the mirror but you couldn't see your reflection. You shifted it a bit and saw someone appeared.

A person who seemed so ethereal like an angel that had descended from heaven. Dark ebony hair with slightly curly fringe. Dazzling eyes that held a thousand stories and perfectly structured nose. Jaw sharper than knife and lips so plump and red.

You were in awe as you stared at the person but was snapped out when you heard him speak. It was the same voice you heard a few minutes ago.

You turned around and your eyes met with his. His glossy eyes looked so beautiful like the galaxy in the sky. You quickly broke the contact and maintained your composure.

"Are you the fairest one?" You asked.

He shrugged his shoulders, "Ask the mirror."

"Ask the what? This isn't some Snow White story."

The other laughed so hard that tears came out.

"You are funny. I like you."

You blushed at his sudden comment. You were quite caught off guard but you cleared your throat to remain calm.

"D-do you know where this is?"

"I don't have a slight idea," he replied nonchalantly as he plopped down on the floor. He smiled, "I've been waiting for someone to help me."

"The fairest one?"

"That mirror showed me nothing except my own reflection."

"But I can't even see my own."

"Maybe it's broken."

You hummed in agreement but you felt that something was off. You gave it a thought for a while as things weren't summing up properly.

"Why don't you sit down and relax? Maybe you will be able to come up with a plan," he told you as he continued to play with some flowers in his hand.

You agreed that overthinking wouldn't do any good so you sat before him. You studied him closer and he sure was really handsome that your heart didn't fail to skip a beat.

He gestured you to lean in so you did. Just then, you felt something light on your head so you looked at him. His eyes glistened with satisfaction.

"Just as I thought, flowers look best on a flower."

You reached your hand to touch what was on your head and realised that it was the flower crown that he was making. Your cheeks started burning and you looked down to hide your blush.

"Thank you," you mumbled and he just smiled.

You still felt like you had to do something to leave this place. You had a lot of things to do back at the University and you were pretty sure that lecturer would've been back by now.

While the boy continued to make another flower crown, you walked to the mirror again and stared at the words. After that, you looked at it again and you couldn't see your own reflection except that person. You turned to look at the boy who was still sitting on the ground.

And that was it. You found the answer.

"You," you pointed at him, "You are the fairest one."

He paused whatever he was doing and looked at you.

"You found out," he smiled and stood up.

"You knew all this while?"

He chuckled, "I never said I didn't know."

"But you said it was broken."

"That's all I said."

"And you also don't know this place."

"That I really don't know."

You paused.

"Then, you can help me get out?"

You noticed his expression fell slightly but he still put on a small smile.

"This is why I lied."

"Excuse me?"

He walked up to you and held your hand. It was too sudden that you flinch but relaxed soon after.

"Do you have to leave? I waited for so long."

"I..."

He cut you off with a grin.

"I'm just joking. I was only here for like three hours I guess."

You raised your eyebrow and he squished your face.

"What are you doing?" You spoke with difficulty.

"Just look at me."

You stared into his eyes and you were mesmerised. Your heart pounded so loudly that you could even hear it.

He stopped squishing you and gently stroke your cheek. He brushed his thumb across your lips and he wet his lips.

"May I kiss you, my flower?"

You stared at him and patted your lips.

"Yes."

Without wasting another second, he pressed his lips against yours. The sweet sensation sent tingles of excitement to your heart. He held you closer and kissed you deeper. You let him lead you to an entrancing world where time had stopped and only the two of you lived in the moment. The kiss went on until the two of you savoured every bit of each other.

He parted and looked at you fondly as you stared back at him lovingly. You wanted to maintain the eye contact longer but you felt sleepy.

"I wish you knew I was the one for you."

You didn't understand what he said and you blacked out in his arms.

"Now, wake up, my flower."

••••••••••••••••••<>••••••••••••••••••

You shot awake on the campus floor where you sat leaning against the lockers. You were thankful that it was still too early for students to be arriving. If not, you would have ended up on social media.

You hurriedly got up and headed straight to the staff room.

You knocked on the door and opened it. You noticed that someone was already inside and you knew it was the lecturer.

"Sorry," you apologised as you closed back the door.

"It's alright," he reassured you and you froze as you were turning around.

You knew that voice and you looked at him when he was in your sight. The same person as the one in your dream. He looked a million times better in real life.

"Y-you."

He gave you a toothy grin.

"Did I appear in your dream or something, flower?"

Your mouth was left hanging as he winked at you playfully. He walked to you and helped you closed your mouth which made you blush deeply.

"I'm the new lecturer and I hope you are able to learn a lot from me."

He stretched his hand out to you.

"I'm Kim Taehyung. Nice to meet you again, flower."

And that was when the book that you've left laying on the ground as you hastily got up to leave started turning its pages until it reached its designated chapter.

New words appeared below it.
