Magnolia stared at this long piece of yellow rubber. Idi put it in a cage of sticks then ran off. Suddenly the rubber moved! It was in fact a snake!

"Ssso your Magnolia eh? I've heard ssso much about you."

Ciara's body was shining a pale gold in the morning light, cocoa flecked across her back.

Magnolia's response was not well thought. "Well at least someone has heard something about me!"

Noting what she'd done, she apologised to Ciara. No point making a snake angry, it'll only kill you faster.

Magnolia and Ciara told each other how they came to be in Idi's care. Magnolia was knocked out of the nest by Kaur, Idi's Father. Kaur had taken her home and fixed her up. Then, when setting her go they found she could not fly, so Idi was allowed to keep her as a pet.

Idi had found Ciara by the river, picked her up, and taken her home. Kaur had allowed her to be kept as a pet.
