Waterstar yawned as the sun began to rise, tired from the journey to get his nine lives.
The rest of the clan began to stir, welcoming the cool breeze gently blowing into camp.
The leader walked over to his deputy, Songclaw. "Good morning Waterstar," the young she-cat said after stretching. The tom nodded in greeting, "Good morning to you too, Songclaw. Do you think the warriors aren't too tired to patrol this morning?"
"I think they'll be fine, it will probably wake them up to get moving."
"Good then, why don't you take three cats with you on patrol, I have to go check on Robinbranch."
The deputy nodded and the two cats parted.
Songclaw headed towards two warriors. "Acornmask, you and Softleaf will go on patrol with me," The deputy then looked at the ginger cat and added,"Softleaf, tell Scorchpaw to meet us at the camp entrance for patrol."
Softleaf nodded and headed to the apprentice den while Songclaw and Acornmask made their way to the camp entrance.

The patrol came back with no fresh kill, but the clan still had some for now. They had still learned a bit about the territory.
